“Worth Checking Out!”
Reviewed 26 January 2011

Just back from a fabulous holiday at this hotel. Very modern and clean with great food and service from the staff. Nice touch to get a large bottle of water delivered to your room every day!! Got a few bites so watch out for this - not the fault of the hotel though. The all inclusive package was a great deal (through First Choice) and rarely was there a queue for food/drink. Would go again in a minute!

we stayed here for 4 weeks over xmas & new year , the hotel was spotless , the food was superb, plenty of choice , the staff were very friendly & helpful, our room was brilliant we had our own very spacious balcony with sunbeds & table & chairs we also had a pool & sea view ,we also had a huge king size bed . we had maid service daily & towels were changed daily too, xmas day gala meal was very good 10/10 . the new years gala meal was beautiful , all the ladies received a gift & the 6 course meal was total quality ! . bar staff were very friendly too , entertainment was ok some good shows on , we go to lanzarote every xmas but this was first time at this hotel we will definately be returning here hopefully in may ,we had a very happy & relaxing holiday the weather was excellent . the only fault we found was children were allowed to run wild & it became annoying at times these were british children i might add ! but other than that we had a fantastic time ,ive recently had a knee replacement & found it easy to walk into town & back , all be it slowly as its very flat . roll on may i say !!

"Lovely, very modern hotel in great position opposite the beach and promenade just a short stroll into Puerto del Carmen or Pocillos/Matagora.
Very big rooms, newly furnished with excellent storage, sofa, flatscreen TV, modern bathroom with power shower (always hot water). All rooms built around the huge pool area all with different sized balconies and views although most rooms appear to have good views. Like a maze at first but soon get used to it. The only problem we had with the 2 rooms was that in one of the rooms we found ants in the bathroom a few times but when this was reported to reception it was quickly dealt with and no more problems! The hotel was constantly being cleaned, it was mostly spotless throughout.
We stayed all inclusive which was excellent. They had local versions of all drinks and the measures were brilliant. No limit (within reason) as to how many drinks you can get at a time and actually there were hardly ever any queues despite the hotel being full for Christmas/New year, which is a first as normally you have to keep queuing. Great choice at mealtimes, I am a very fussy eater and there were always several choices that I would eat at most mealtimes. Lunch can be buffet or snacks from pool bar. The only criticism would be that occasionally the food could be a bit hotter, but not all the time and at times the only problem I experienced was nothing to do with the hotel, but many of the children were extremely naughty and loud and there was no discipline at all, they seemed to do what they liked and unfortunately it seemed to only be the British children that were noisy and allowed to do what they wanted. The foreign children were very well behaved, very sad! The New year's Eve gala dinner was amazing, it was a 6 course dinner and the food was excellent, certainly top quality food and the ladies all got a small gift. They couldn't have done any better or put any more effort into it.
There was daytime entertainment laid on such as rifle shooting, water aerobics and in the evening there was the usual singing, bingo, kiddies disco and the odd show. Unfortunately the inside bar where this was held was quite small so most people ended up using the outside seating area this opened onto but some evenings it was a bit chilly to sit outside plus you couldn't hear what was going on. The music inside the bar was ridiculously loud but they would turn it down if you asked without any problems.
Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful which must be difficult given the long hours they work, they never stop.
All in all a brilliant holiday and I would certainly go back. To top it all we had brilliant weather considering it was winter, 2 weeks of sunshine, we only had 1 morning and 1 afternoon of cloud and not a drop of rain, perfect, it has apparently been the best winter weather for over 10 years. In fact some days it was so hot that we had to take some shade!!!"

We were late arriving at the hotel due to our flight being delayed. When we got to reception the two receptionists couldn't have cared less. It was quite late in the evening and the restaurant had closed and no food had been kept for us - usually, with Thomson, there is always some food kept for late arrivals. The receptionists also said that they had no record of our booking but pointed us vaguely in the direction of our room. We were very tired from our journey and are both senior citizens - in addition, I had recently had a knee operation and had difficulty walking and told the receptionists about this. We asked the receptionists for help with our luggage, but they refused. We set off in the direction they had pointed to, only to discover that the Lanzarote Village is very spread out - like a village and on several levels. It took us about 15 minutes to find our room, dragging our heavy cases and then, just as we got there, one of the receptionists arrived, helpiing someone else with their luggage. We were very cross!
After that things improved!
The hotel is lovely - the room was huge with a lovely bathroom and comfortable beds. The balcony was also huge and overlooked the garden at the back, so it was very quiet.
Food was fine. We spent some time around the pool, but mostly stayed on our balcony t sunbathe as it got the sun all day and we could listen to music - I brought my i-pod and dock, and we could make drinks whenever we wanted to. Not much choice of English-speaking channels on the TV though.
We didn't really sample the entertainment, but we did go on two trips, one to the market, which was great, and one on the Island Tour, which is well worth doing, especially if you haven't been to Lanzarote before. A word of warning, don't book this with the rep as the trips advertised on the reception desk are much cheaper and we had an excellent guide and a very good lunch included. The Island itself is really interesting and unlike anywhere we had been before.
I did complain to the rep about our poor reception when we arrived and the next day there was a huge basket of fruit and a bottle of wine in our room!
I would also recommend taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel as it is cheaper and much quicker than hanging around and waiting for the tour company's transfer.
After a shaky start, we really enjoyed this holiday!

Stayed with partner and 2 children age 3 and 10 for 11 nights over xmas.
Everything about the hotel was perfect other than the entertainment, the childrens disco was quite late and only on certain nights and we only saw 2 good acts over the 11 nights we were there, otherwise it was just singers often singing in different languages which obviously the kids found boring. Food was great and hotel made an very good effort for xmas gala dinner which we thoroughly enjoyed. We went half-board but if we returned I would definitely book all inclusive as the drinks (even soft drinks) at the hotel bar were very expensive. Staff were great especially some of the waiters. My 4 year old is still talking about Alfonzo. Rooms were a good size for a hotel and the balcony was great and has sunbeds on as well as a table and chairs. Overall a great holiday and would love to go back if the entertainment improves.
