“Needs a facelift”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Stayed here last week July, staff were unhelpful, room were basic which was fine but the cleaners are terrible. There were black long hairs all over the floor in the room, there was urine in the bday, when I complained the receptionist said well it has been cleaned today!
I had to scrub the floor myself on my hands and knees.just felt grubby in there.
Part of the pool was coned off for work which never happened, the sun beds were a joke, id say about 70% were broken and filthy dirty.
Had to pay extra for wifi, had to pay extra for TV..had our towels changed three times in 10 days, and then they smelled musky. The balcony was falling apart..had to buy our own cups as theirs were filthy. Shops and pubs about a 15 minute walk, never had a bad meal in the resteraunts though and found things a little cheaper than in uk.

Myself and hubby were very disappointed about child safety lock on the slide door which which wasn't safe for small child it was a low lock that just required to be slid upwards to open the door which our three year old was well able to do it was a huge worry for us at night, We did make complaint to the reception but they never did fix it..the playground wasn't up to scratch . They had no options for activities for children at all . The apartment badly needed to be painted and also inside the reception building too.very disappointed no entertainment at night at pool bar it was very dead inside and it closed early at 11am but just for World Cup they open bit later till maybe 12. The final problem was construction going on by the pool which was not safely blocked off and was a huge risk for children

Just returned from aparthotel (june2014), went on girls holiday, 8 altogether, all in our late 20's! Hotel super close to airport, travel time max 15mins. We rented two apartments, basic but clean& exactly what we had paid for. Really close to all the shops& bars& nightlife.
Apartments were cleaned everyday& fresh towels. Would definately recommend for package holiday. Only drawback noisy road at night with traffic,if staying in apts on right side of reception but also if room on that side you have sunshine all evening too:-)

Just returned from here.A well laid out complex with lovely pool area! Apartments in need of good clean, paint and refurbishment! Balconies need attention too, furniture filthy, despite this being early season. Sun loungers, half of these need throwing out, and filthy!
Pool bar did not open till 1pm? No facilities for changing on day of departure, and refused request to keep on apartment or hire one of the many lying empty! Receptionist claimed, they were dirty and needing painted! What a response to a request??
The area around the hotel is lovely with nice bars and restaurants.

Enjoyed a weeks stay in April here. The staff were friendly and the Hotel clean and tidy. Faulty loo flush was fixed within 20 minutes on a Sunday morning. Lots of sun beds available and plenty of poolside places available. For those wanting a quieter relaxing place to sunbathe beds are available in smaller areas of the terraces. Only downside bar closed at 11pm but I am sure during the busy seasons it may stay open longer. Bar snacks available throughout the day although there are small bars and restaurants within walking distance. Close to the Biosfara shopping centre, old town and harbour. Bus stops outside too.

Room Tip: Poolside not busy roadside.

Stayed in Aparthotel Puerto Carmen during the last 2 weeks, found the rooms nice, plenty of sun areas, tennis court and play area for kids. The pool was drained when we got there due to some problem with the Jacuzzi??! We arrived on the tues to be told it would be fixed the next day..... wasn't fixed till the Saturday evening. Staff not the most helpful on reception when pressed on the exact day the pool would be ready. Had to find out from another guest we could use the Los Fariones pool which we did on the Saturday.
Hotel is in a nice location but is a bit of a trek to the prom and beach area. easy going down up hill on way back. close to the Biosphere centre though and 200mts away from supermarkets.

Staff say there is free wifi in the reception area..... its crap! Takes ages to load. Much better getting the wifi in the room. Tv is 3.50 per day and worth getting as there is about 80 channels many in English with some irish ones too. Beware if you have kids there are 2 porn channels that are on 24/7 and weren't password protected in our room.

Computers in the reception area for guests are expensive to use with internet and no printer is available. Definatly think there should be access to a printer for guests to print there return tickets as we had a lot of hassle doing so.

Overall an enjoyable stay just need to work on there communication with guests more and be more efficient on the little things

Room Tip: any of the rooms on the left or right hand side of the pool are adjacent to roads, so noise early in...

Had a short weeks break but was a little concerned following reading of other persons entries but was very surprised arrived PM 13/5/14 and was given room 120 which was quite basic but spotlessly clean and very comfortable beds, Had problem on arrival could not manage to program the code on the room safe which was promptly sorted, All staff we dealt with were extremley courteous and friendly and made our stay a pleasurable and relaxing experience and would not hesitate to return, The pool furniture could do with retlacing as some beds and umbrellas were way past their sell by date, Meals where of limited choice on a self service basis but always found something to our liking, The only thing I would say against the hotel is it lacked some evening entertainment to end the day but certainly did not detract us from having a lovely and pleasurable stay our thanks to all the staff

Room Tip: Had room 120 which overlooked the pool brilliant but entrance was close to a road which was not to b...
