Just returned from a week at the smartline pocillos playa and we had an amazing time! Was a little concerned before travelling having read a rather negative review however there was no need to worry at all. We were checked in by Samantha at reception who was so helpful and pleasant and showed us to our room. The food was first class with plenty of variety and very good quality food including meats ( lamb, steak, chicken and more) freshly cooked fish and seafood including mussels and prawns and a good selection of salads as well. We particularly enjoyed the Asian theme night, the sushi was divine! And all made better by the brilliant chef who always had a smile on his face and would cook you fresh eggs and omelettes to your liking and the waiting staff, especially bethel and michel who always had a smile on their face and are an absolute credit to the hotel. Rolando is a fantastic young man who works at the bar and can’t do enough to please. Peter the entertainment guy was brilliant! So funny and always had time to speak to guests. Can’t finish without mentioning udo the manager, what a great man he is, nothing too much and always keen to keep his guests happy, any issues were resolved in a flash and I must say he is one of the most hands on customer caring managers I have ever met! Thank you all of the staff at the smartline hotel pocillos playa for an amazing time, you are all a credit to your company and we would return in a heartbeat

We have just returned from a week here and it has not disappointed. I read some of the negative points made by previous guests and really cannot believe they would even write them considering how petty they were! I had a bad knee and an upper floor room which management very quickly swapped for a ground floor in a no fuss no hassle way very quickly. The food was exquisite and plenty of quality choice everyday. The chef was sooo funny and always wanted to please. The waitress Bethel was lovely and happy everyday teaching us Spanish! The waiter michel was a charming young man. Rolando was superb as were Sam on reception and the actual manager udo. He was always available and even served behind the bar! Nothing too much trouble. He even turned up our air con for us! Peter the entertainment was hilarious and never pushy. We will definately be returning and would recommend this peaceful and friendly hotel to anyone. It was spotless and the cleaners were constantly keeping it that way. The location is superb overlooking the sea but far enough away to be quiet. What a little gem.!

Hotel is small and friendly, rooms are very nice . The selling point is the location , if you don’t mind a stroll it’s not far from the beach and bars and restaurants. My daughter and I hired bikes today which was great fun as they have a dedicated cycling route along the promenade.

Allocated a room overlooking the pool (123), the manager was telling us that the hotel had been closed for 8 years and has been refurbished... you could tell! Everything was new, clean and very smart. It's a small hotel (76 rooms) but think this added to the friendly atmosphere of the hotel. Everyone from the manager, Peter (entertainment) Roxy & Sam on reception to the chefs and cleaners were friendly and went out of their way to make sure you enjoyed your stay.
If you are after a relaxing, chilled hotel then you can't fault this hotel. We went in May so not sure if this would change in high season.
Food in the restaurant whilst there wasn't a massive amount of choice there was always something to eat and it was all pretty good, we particularly enjoyed the Asian night.
The bar area was lacking in atmosphere and the decor was a bit plain and more like a canteen than a bar but having said that we saw an excellent magic show one night and a good singer on another. I would suggest comfy chairs and better lighting for this area, other than that I really can't fault this hotel, very pleasantly surprised.
