“Great Value All Inclusive Resort”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

Just came back from a weeks all inclusive holiday at this hotel.
On arrival, we found the reception staff to be pleasant enough. Our room was ready on time and was cleaned regularly as is the norm. The rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated. There is a TV and wifi available in each room at a cost. There is no air con but a fan can be bought from reception for 15 euro + an extra ten euro deposit.
The hotel is located near a handful of bars and restaurants but the main strip is quite far away. However a taxi is only 3/4 euro each way.
The meals at the hotel were above standard to what was expected. There as always something to eat and a range of different food was on offer. I am vegetarian and still always found something to eat. Also, the range of drinks at the pool bar (open 10am-11pm) was great. Loads of soft drinks to choose from for the day and a good all inclusive cocktail menu for the night as well as local alcohol.
The evening entertainment was really good! We saw a reptile show on one night and a bird show during the week. Bingo and quizzes are on most nights.
I would definitely recommend the purple turtle pub which is located 5 minutes from the hotel. Serve all the best british food, great atmosphere in there.
The pool was a good size, nearby on the sun terraces is a great tanning spot.
Its great value for money and you get what you pay for!

Room Tip: Europa apartments are quieter as they are opposite the main complex, however if you want to be close...

This was not an Hotel.it was an apartment, which was only cleaned every other day. No clean bedding when staying a week. Had to ask for toilet rolls. Then go out to buy my own..
Food was very much the same each day.
Some of the reception staff were kind and helpful going that extra mile.
As the week went by accommodation grew on you.
Be prepared to pay for air condoning which was a fan.then paying for it I had to leave a deposit, carry it down the stairs myself when we were leaving.

Room Tip: Higher floors better views

I went to Los Fiscos with a group of eight friends for the scuba diving at the end of July. It was a decent base for what we wanted. The food was average but there was always something that I liked and as it was self service quantity was not an issue. The all inclusive drinks were fine (I have had terrible ones elsewhere in the past) The staff were nice but not overly friendly and could have been more so. When the restaurant shut - it shut! Lights off music off and we were even asked to go at one point! No conflict. Just a bit strange that's all. The rooms are pretty basic and the beds are hard. They have a safe for which you pay 20 euros with a returnable 10 euro deposit. Bit pricey in my view. The pool was fine but there were no parasols (which was a real problem for me as a red head that crisps up very easily and the pool guys were a bit restrictive about where the sun beds went (all in a row!) Still they let us drink in the pool which was fun! Yeah all a bit basic but nothing to lose sleep over. If you want a hotel for your holiday of a life time this is not it but if you are not overly fussy and you are out an about a lot its fine.

Room Tip: Get a room way from the pool unless you like constant cheesy music. Be prepared for hard beds.

I stayed at los fiscos 13-19th August. We arrived at reception at midday so we had to wait for 2 hours before check-in. That was fine because we simply left our baggage in a holding room and had lunch at 1pm although one of our rooms did take a while to become available - even after the check in time.

Reception staff were generally helpful and friendly. The restaurant staff were always jolly and helped us get a table for 5. Pool bar staff are friendly too.

The food was standard buffet food. Breakfast - options of pastries, toast, fruit, fried breakfast and cereal. Lunch - pastas, pizza, soup, bread-galore, plenty of salad, meats, chips, lasagnas, various sauces etc....Dinner was similiar. The food was nice enough, but after 6 days of breakfast, lunch and dinner...it got pretty samey and bland, so we went down to the harbour on our last night and had a slap up meal for a really reasonable 20euros each. You got unlimited ice-cream at the pool bar which was much needed during the heat wave we had during the stay! Drinks are served in plastic cups, which is fine! Sure they dont hold much which is why you order 2 at a time or drink plenty whilst in the comfort of the poolside shade and then take drinks to your sunbeds. The only annoying thing i found was people dont bin their cups so when its windy, depending on where your sunbeds are, all the cups blow around you.

Accommodation was standard - towels got changed regularly although i dont think the floors were mopped once during the week, very dusty. I kipped on the sofa, really comfy! 2 twin beds in the bedroom, and then our friends were right next door in a twin bed room. One of our fridges didn't work so we let reception know but nothing was done about it.

Main hassle of the resort was 'sunbed-gate'! What a nightmare. The pool bar and sunloungers dont open/get unlocked till 10am. So people would gather in their shotgunned spaces, guarding their areas. And then when the maintenance man came round unlocking the stacks of sun beds, there would be a big rush. I guess it depends on the crowd, but on our first pool say, we had a lot of hostile people who made it difficult for us to get our sunbeds together. There is no shade by the pool other than a small strip of dappled shade and of course the pool bar area but thats not massive. The resort rep was a good laugh and organised plenty of pool-games like rubber ring races etc.

Resort is only a 10 min taxi journey - think it cost us 15euro for a people carrier type car.

Would i go back to Los Fiscos....No, But it did the job for what we needed.

Arrived at this hotel for a 4 night stay on Thursday. After the first night the hotel was so poor that we went on the Internet and thank god managed to get booked in to a different hotel on the island. Don't expect much form a 3 star hotel as it was advertised ( although we were advised by the receptionist that it is in fact 2 star) however mould on the pillows is simply unacceptable. The hotel room had no a/c and was unbearably hot...we were provided with a fan from reception which we had to pay for!! Food horrendous, staff rude....avoid at all costs !

Stayed here from 17/08/13 to 24/08/13 on an all inclusive basis.
The rooms had no air conditioning, we asked for clean sheets after two days to be told that these would normaly be changed every seven days !!!! After raised voices new sheets were brought to our room at 21:45 that evening.
The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable.
Food in the restaurant was of very limited choice , Breakfast was passable , lunch slightly better but dinner was very poor ( OK if you like lots of cold rice and pasta ! ).
No real entertainment structure. ( mostly bingo at 21:00 )
The pool bar is the only bar and seating is hard to find after 20:00.
The hotel is miles away from the main strip and beach , although the harbour area is only a fifteen minute walk down a very steep serpentine hill.
Good points :- The weather was great and there are some great restaurants down on the strip to prevent you going hungry !!!!!!!

Room Tip: Do not stay at Los Fiscos """

Dear customers,

Many thanks for sharing your opinions about this hotel of Puerto del Carmen. As to the sheet change, it is once a week (I think you might have misunderstood), and the existence of air conditioning is not published in brochures.

Kindest regards.
