The Java may not look any different from the other surrounding holiday hotels from the outside, but the recently renovated interior and rooms do bring it up to the 4 star standard.
All the rooms have balconies and the top floors have views of the beach and sea. The rooms were practicle and clean. Large walk in showers, complimentary toiletries, flat screen TV with mostly German and Spanish channels with a few English news channels. Direct dial telephone, mini fridge and air con.
The Java has a good size outdoor pool with plenty of sun loungers and shaded chill out areas with good quality wicker/cane furniture and day beds. It also has a small indoor pool and newly equipped gym.
The quality and range of breakfast and dinner food was very good, there was something for everyone even if the hotel does seem to cater more to German/ Nordic guests.
Only 50m from the beach and promenade. This is a quieter area of Palma away from the 18-30 crowd north east of Palma.
An area more suited to families and those wishing for a more relaxing holiday.
Close to the airport, aquarium and harbour.
Many airline staff stayed in the Java, which we took as a good sign, as they would expect a certain standard of accommodation.
Only negative for us was the evening entertainment, which was pitched at the over 60's crowd (flamenco, ballroom dancing)More
