It's a bit of a cliche but it really sums up our opinion of this hotel. We took advice from other reviews and went All Inclusive. Another useful tip was to go for a one-bedroom apartment rather than just a double-room. The food in the hotel was excellent which incidentally is what attracted us from the other reviews. There were was something to suit every taste and many dishes had health information that is useful for dietry needs. All the staff were great and nothing was too much trouble especially the restaurant staff who were also great with kids. The apartment was spaceous and clean and we were lucky to get a great location beside the swimming pool. The only downside was that we appeared to be the only english speaking couple in the hotel which meant that conversations at meal times and around the pool were somewhat limited. The hotel has a fitness centre and provides some Spa treatments but we didn't use either. The lovely Playa de Palma beach is a short walk from the hotel. There was some form of entertainment in the hotel most evenings but there are many bars, shops and restaurants close by if you want something different from what the hotel provides.

Room Tip: Ask for a one-bedroom apartment overlooking the pool

We stayed in this hotel in July 2011 and combined the roadcycling with the night life. The location of the hotel is close to the beach (walking distance) and of the night life.

We rented bikes from the hotel which were of a decent quality (Full Ultegra group set for 80EUR/week). The location is not close to the mountains, but will cost you about 20-30kms which is a welcome warm up. July-Aug is in my opinion a little bit too warm for really long rides but we manager to cycle 450kms in 4 days. And when you return in the late afternoon fully dehydrated, the swimming pool is a must-do and is very relaxing!

The buffet in the hotel is value for money, but don't expect to get the same quality at the bar in the swimming pool. Although it is not bad, the pizzas at the swimming pool aren't of the same quality of those at the buffet.

The rooms are rather on the small size, but the bathroom is somewhat larger and has everything you need and expect for this price.

I would recommend this hotel for all cycling tourists. For regular tourists it is a hotel of an above average standard.

Great location, near the sea front and airport. Good and cheap bus link into Palma. Pool and facilities all 4* but rooms are tired and in need of an update. We had the advantage of a 20% offer when we booked and upgraded to AI on arrival which was great value. Not the same standard as Barcelo in UK though so would definately book again but only on a discounted rate.

Room Tip: Double rooms are very small so upgrade if possible

Spent 4 nights at the Barcelo Pueblo Park over the long 2011 Easter weekend.

The reason I selected this hotel was the Barcelo brand. I stayed in one of their Madrid hotels during the summer of 2008 and had a pleasant stay. I expected the same standards at the Barcelo Pueblo. Following this experience in Mallorca, I do not intend to stay at a Barcelo ever again.

ROOM
Narrow room with used furniture and an old TV. Barely any space between the bed and the wall. Paper thin walls (you can hear the neighbors' conversations and TV). Tiny balcony with dirty plastic chairs. No fridge. No water boiler (requested one from Reception. Was told we would get one the next day. The next evening, still nothing. Asked again and was told that boilers are only for apartments). The tiles in the hallway outside can be noisy (especially early morning when the cleaning staff move their trolleys around)

SERVICE
Only one receptionist working at any time. So one has to wait several minutes before getting his/her attention. I had a bad impression because of their unwillingness to provide a boiler.
This target client of this hotel is the average German tourist (and cyclists) this could be felt. Receptionists and waiters could barely speak English but seemed to be fluent in German.

DINING
The restaurant was more of a canteen. Tables so close to one another. Kitschy plastic flower on each table. No salt/pepper (asked a waiter and was told to go with our plate and get some next to vinegar, oil and condiments from the self-service table!)
The food was of average quality. Beware of the risks of food poisoning; not sure if the 'cooks' had any formal training on food handling hygiene and proper cooking times/temperatures. Had a bite of grilled fish which was still raw inside. The octopus salad had a foul taste. Few vegetarian options and two types of oily pasta are offered each night. Ice cream was disgusting.
The desserts and fresh fruits helped improve the otherwise below-average dinner.
Breakfast was quite good with eggs=to=order and selection of fresh fruits . Out of 4 breakfasts, fresh orange juice was available only once. The coffee, pastries and biscuits were of the cheapest quality,

To sum up: avoid this hotel or lower your standards/expectations considerably and you'll be fine.

The hotel offers excellent value, we were on all inclusive, the resturant offers a variety of food from fresh cooked meat and fish, paella, salads etc, breakfast more than adaquate, and wine excellent, the staff in the resturant were excellent. The bar in the hotel was fine except some of the staff seemed to not like the Brits, especially if we were on all inclusive prefering to serve the Germans with the euro held up for their attention, also the hotel advertised an outside pool bar which you could have snacks that was closed when we enquired why they said it was out of season! it was half term holidays and everyone was sunbathing around the pool, if we asked for snacks it was with reluctancy the bar staff would arrange a sandwich which I requested on our first day having missed breakfast and lunch. The other thing is beware going out locally at night my sons 16 & 18 went for a stroll after dinner and was advised by a bar owner they were being followed by a gang whom mug tourist's they were chased back to the hotel, another evening my husband and I plus 5 other adults were approached by ladies of the night whom are really pick pockets as well, the hotel staff should warn guests it is not safe out of season to stroll around after dinner, Palma town was fine we ususally went there after those two incidents. The hotel and surrounding bars and resturants are really catering for the german tourists, overal we enjoyed our stay just nice to be aware of a couple of things!!

I stayed here twice on business in the month and comparing this to hotels of equal price and rating elsewhere in Europe, I can only say I am disappointed. Maybe the general quality of hotels around Playa de Palma is low (?) but then at least I'd expect a lower price for the room. The hotel looks modern and offers the usual amenities, but:
- the rooms are small and the furnishing looks cheap for the price/rating
- my first room's TV did not have any channels at all, the second a poor selection
- WiFi Internet in the lobby only, and this is a business hotel?
- staff were not particularly friendly, nor responsive after my stay (a telephone and an email request to receive a copy of the first stay's invoice has not had any answer at all)
For business, I do not think this hotel is suitable at all; for pleasure, I would wonder why a holidaymaker would want to pay so much to stay here.
