Always enjoy staying at the Pastures hotel.
It is clean, comfortable and the staff are very friendly and professional.
I think that this is probably our 5th visit and
have never been disappointed.
Whilst this is a busy hotel with what looks like a vibrant restaurant we have always found that this does not impinge on the comfort of the room which remains quiet and restful.
I would recommend any fellow traveller to include breakfast as it is great value and sets you up for the day.

Have to say that this one of the best hotels that I have had the pleasure so staying in. I pretty much lived in the hotel for 3 weeks due to business.
It was genuinely a home from home. The reception staff are fantastic and went out their way to make sure that I enjoyed my stay.
The rooms are lovely. I was in a twin room to begin with and was then upgraded to a family room.
I would advise that if you don't drive this is awkward to get to but only 15 mins in a taxi from Doncaster.
The pastures lodge across from the hotel is very much like a brewers fayre. The food is outstanding and the portions are massive. I would suggest starving yourself all day if you plan on having a 3 course meal.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone

Good location not too far from A1. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast and rooms overlooking canal. Clean, comfortable rooms and comfy beds.

Pub over the car park if you fancy pub food over the restaurant food here.

Really good hotel and a great facility for the local area.

Attended with friends for a christmas meal. Really looked forward to the evening as there was a lounge singer on too to add to the atmosphere.

The food was lovely, the atmosphere very pleasant but sadly the service isn't up to scratch.

We were given menus but not asked if we wanted drinks. Only small but it's nice to have drinks served whilst deciding rather than order drinks and food at the same time.

When our plates were collected we were never asked if everything was satisfactory (it was but it's nice to be asked), and we had to ask for extra drinks when we had finished what we had.

Overall a lovely evening and much nicer than typical 'pub grub' - they just need to brush up on the customer service a little please :-)

I was not looking forward to staying as Mexborough has a reputation for slag heaps and mills. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived to find the councils have done a lot to clean up the area. Far enough from the railway so not as to hear it but close enough to walk to the station. Set back from the road the only traffic was the residents arriving in the car park. I arrived back from my meeting in time to eat at the restaurant opposite and spent a pleasant evening with my friend before he had to leave.

The two young ladies on duty when I arrived and another two when I departed along with the housekeeping staff made me feel welcome and it was more a family affair than a big hotel chain. The room was Warm, clean and comfortable and I would certainly stay again perhaps for longer than needed to enjoy a few of the walks in the area.

A word of warning if you wish to use the bus services check first as they do not all go in the correct direction due to the circular routes and some take longer than others because they visit housing estates en-route.
