This restaurant hasn't been reviewed for over a year, so here's an update. There were fourteen of us, only one farang, me , I thought the food was very good, the Thais said it was average and that the portions were a lot smaller than previous times, I actually quite like smallish portions because it means I can try more dishes.
The setting is lovely, we sat on a platform built over the river, lots of lights around and good, live, unobtrusive music playing in the background. The service was excellent and all of the waitress' seemed happy in their jobs.
I haven't singled out any food in particular as everything I ate was very good, I don't know if they still have an English menu, I didn't ask because my wife translates for me. If they haven't it may be a good idea to invite an English speaking Thai along with you as the waitress' don't speak English and therefore can't explain the menu.
The whole meal for fourteen, including copious amounts of alcohol, Thais sure know how to drink, was 5000 baht, approx £100, amazing value for money, my Thai friends thought it was a bit expensive, they don't know how lucky they are. If this place was in England you wouldn't get away with less than £50 per head.
If you're in Chanthaburi give it a whirl, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
