“Super Holiday Cottage”
Reviewed 31 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed here when our daughters were competing at the Pony Club Championships. The cottage is just 10 minutes from the venue and the perfect luxury get away. The kitchen area perfect with lovey crockery and glasses, a comfortable sitting area with a wood-burning stove.

The bedrooms are very pretty with comfortable beds and lovely linen.

“Amazing place!!!”
Reviewed 27 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Just returned from a fabulous 2 night break staying in the Garden Room at Heald House. This place is delightful! Rachael has created a perfect getaway here, we couldn't fault any part of it. There is everything you could possibly need for a relaxing time out experience. The huge copper bath is perfectly placed underneath a skylight, big comfy sofas, luxury fluffy towels, robes, the perfect views and not to mention every single little finishing touch is done to ultimate perfection. This is one special place I cannot wait to return! We've left feeling truly rested and cared for. Defo a ***** from us!

What a lovely review!! I just love creating retreats and love it even more when people have a totally chilled time staying in them! Thank you so much. So so glad you had a lovely time. I hope we can welcome you back again. Maybe a winter break in the old parlour? Lovely in there with the surround sound music system and the real fire crackling away. Xxxx

“Beautiful 5 star retreat”

We spent two nights in the Garden Room - a beautiful duplex. We spent the days at Delamere, Cholmendeley Castle and on the Sandstone Trail then enjoyed relaxing in this peaceful retreat. Highly recommended

“Simply stunning accommodation with beautiful views”
Reviewed 7 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The garden room was comfortable and a delight to stay in. It lived up to the pictures we had seen. We had lovely weather and the views and walks were very enjoyable. We plan to go back as it was very well equipped for a winter break --very cosy and lots of entertainment. It is very near some lovely pubs with good food and a short drive to lots of interesting places. We were attending a family wedding and were accompanied by our son who is in his 20's. He found the day bed very comfortable. There was lots of helpful information and our hosts were always ready to help and very friendly. Thanks for a great weekend

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review! It was a real pleasure top meet you all and yes, please do come back. All the barns are just as lovely in the winter as they are summer with their real fires, lamps, candles etc and there's always so much going on in the area! Chester at Xmas time is a great place to visit too - outdoor ice-rink, Xmas markets and of course Cheshire Oaks Designer Retail Outlet just 30 mins away is the perfect place to get great xmas shopping bargains!! xxxxx

“Super Resting Place Meeting All Our Needs”
Reviewed 21 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We had been eagerly awaiting our stay with Rachael for a long time, having booked well in advance. We were seeking peace and quiet but somewhere from which we could still easily venture out to gardens and nice villages etc.

We were not to be disappointed - the Garden Room was just the ticket. We were fortunate to enjoy good weather, but it was a delight to be able to sit out in the mornings for breakfast and overlook fields and woods complete with various wildlife. Our particular favourite was the little squirrel who regularly scurried along the fence. As you'll realise from the Heald website and reviews such as these, the Garden Room is intended to be for those largely preferring to dine out and therefore has more limited catering facilities than the Old Parlour - though it has a microwave type oven which we used to heat up a couple of 'ready' meals and a fridge - but there is no shortage of eateries nearby. We found The Dusty Miller to be a nice friendly retreat. Panama Hatty's - about a 15 minute drive away - was also very good.

Heald is indeed well located - Biddulph Grange and Wollerton Old Hall Garden were fab, the Dorothy Clive garden was good and Nantwich was very nice to walk round (the Riverside Loop walk was very relaxing and you can feed the ducks at one of the lakes along the way - watch out for a particularly friendly 'blue duck' who literally stood next to us waiting for his meal! He didn't like grapes, but oats and rice seemed good). Helpfully there's a well - stocked village store in Wrenbury which stays open late (and also opens on Sundays).

Rachael is a lovely person who is full of helpful thoughts and advice. She has clearly put a lot of thought into practical aspects too - e.g. books to read, needle and thread, scissors, other bits & bobs.

All-in-all, I can wholeheartedly commend The Garden Room to you!

Thank you David - you've inspired me to make the time to go and visit all the amazing gardens and National Trust properties that we are so lucky to have nearby again too! Its all to easy to take these wonderful things for granted when you live here. I am so glad you enjoyed your time in The Garden Room Barn and really hope we'll see you and Karen again soon.

“Unique finishing touches provided with genuine warmth create a magical retreat!”
Reviewed 26 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We visited Heald Country House Retreats this May bank holiday, staying in The Garden Room and The Nest between our family members. From the moment of telephoning Rachael to enquire about the layout of the accommodation and whether it would suit our party I was overwhelmed by the personal service provided. It was clear that Rachael's aim is to create truly special breaks for her guests, and upon arrival it became apparent very quickly that she wasn't going to leave us disappointed.
My husband and I stayed in The Garden Room with two young children (who were also able to make use of the facilities at The Nest). The Garden Room was fabulous with every thing you could possibly need for a relaxing break at your finger tips. The combination of the countryside views and the super comfortable barn conversion made our mini break one that we will never forget.
I would recommend a little bit of the magic Rachael has created to anyone!

Liked best: Rachael's approach to client care
Liked least: This is super picky but if we had to pick something we would say that walking around the bed is a bit of a balancing act for tall people, but the cosy mezzanine is so cute it' really didn't matter!

“First Class Accommodation”
Reviewed 15 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We have stayed here a few times now and just love the place! Beautifully decorated stylish rooms with great bathrooms, lovely white company bedding on the beds. Extremely comfortable and cosy furnishings. Great pub down the road, especially if you like a G&T! (The Cholmondeley Arms) . The lovely owners Rachel and Louis are extremely welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend.
