Reviewed 16 June 2014

This lovely house dates from 1710 and, as stated in the web-blurb, has retained many (most?) of the original (oak) features, wooden floors and staircase, with 12-foot ceilings.

Peaceful, rural view of trees from my bedroom, with hills in the distance. Not ultra-modern chic- but comfortable.

Breakfast cooked exactly as requested, with wonderful, home-made Damson Jam.

Judy is a nice, helpful character, but certainly NOT arrogant- as described in a previous review. Anyone is entitled to respond, if addressed in an inappropriate manner.

I would certainly stay here again.

(The balloon in the photo is, presumably, not a permanent feature.)

I visited Ash Hall last week and the owner Judy could not do more for us and breakfast was made to order. My brother and I had a large room each which was spotless including the bed, bathroom and towels. An unique and interesting house with lots of history - not luxurious but very comfy and this is reflected in the price. We would without hesitation stay again.

We found the owner to be an interesting person who did her best to make our stay comfortable. The house is a must for those who want historical character with rural peace and quiet. Excellent value for money.C&C

Room Tip: Room 2 has all the original 18th century wood panelling
