My wife and I wanted a quiet couple of days away for our wedding anniversary and I had never visited this part of the UK. Having been tempted by the excellent reviews, I booked 2 nights at Willington Lodge. What a great decision! The house was beautiful and the countryside fantastic. The weather was really kind too. Pam and Richard are an absolutely charming couple and couldn't have done more to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. They both made it feel like a home from home - we stayed in the Stable Suite which was peaceful and beautifully decorated with a wonderful shower and cozy bed. My wife was particularly taken with the Moulton and Brown toiletries! We spent time outside on the sun loungers watching the birds swooping and the pea-hen strutting her stuff - plus Bailey arriving for a fussing. We were also delightfully surprised by the celebratory bottle of fizz that arrived totally unexpectedly to help us celebrate our anniversary - the little extras really matter and we were made to feel very special. Pam and Richard gave us fantastic recommendations for evening dinner and even printed out maps to help us get there. Breakfast was amazing - such a choice. I treated myself to a full English which kept me going to the evening meal and eggs were fresh from the hens that were wandering the courtyard. All in all, I haven't stayed at a better B&B. My wife and I thoroughly recommend Willington Lodge - our thanks to Pam and Richard for making our short break memorable and totally hassle free. We will definitely be back. Graham & Ronnee

We loved our one-night stay at Willington Lodge. Pam and her husband couldn't have been more helpful, including having breakfast ready for us at 6.15am as we had to leave to watch the golf! We had interconnecting rooms spread out over 2 floors with beautiful bathrooms, great showers, towels and a very good night's sleep. Would definitely recommend it again. More a hotel than a 'B & B' based on style!

I happened to stumble across Willington Lodge whilst searching online for a quiet nights break and was very happy to hear that Pamela could squeeze us in, especially after reading all the amazing reviews. It's a real hidden gem and we felt totally relaxed and at home from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The cakes on arrival were yummy and the breakfast in the morning was cooked to perfection. Pamela and Richard are so lovely and went out of their way to provide us with recommendations on where to eat in the evening and even gave us details for a local taxi firm so we could have a drink, bonus!

The house is absolutely beautiful and has been immaculately restored – every last detail has been thought of, I want to move in!!! We will definitely be returning for another stay before the end of the year :)

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful - you will not be disappointed!

Thank you so much for your very kind review. It was great to meet you both and so pleased you enjoyed our restaurant recommendation and as you say a bonus to have a driver for the evening. We thoroughly enjoy having guests to stay and it pleases us when everyone has a great time in our home.

Thanks again and hope to see you again this year sometime when you fancy getting away from the city.

Kind regards

Pam

All these wonderful reviews this place sounded just too good to be true, absolutely nothing disappointed us.
From the moment we arrived you were just enveloped by the atmosphere of peaceful countryside,
cut off from traffic and hustle and bustle but not far from Whitchurch centre.
We met Pamela a charming lady who was so welcoming and hospitable.
After a much welcome cup of tea, and biscuits we were checked in and were given lots of information in the beautiful, tastefully decorated lounge we were then shown to our room the Groom's Suite, a charming room with two separate rooms and a loft bedroom so suitable for a family of four.
Wonderful comfy beds with quality linen.
I must say the attention to detail was second to none and puts some 5 star hotels to shame.
The huge bathroom had two separate basins with quality Molton Brown toiletries, a monsoon shower with Tigi professional hair products and a wonderful jacuzzi bath.
Every detail carefully thought out from water either side of the bed in retro glass bottles to little chocolates, more homemade cakes and a selection of teas etc.
Looking through wardrobes an ironing board iron, extra blankets, games could be found.
Everything was just so well planned and thought through.
I would love to see what TV's hotel inspector would say about Willington Lodge as I think she would be hard pressed to give any criticism and be lost for words.
The comments previously about the feeling of staying with friends was so true, we met the whole family and it was a pleasure, even Bailey, the family dog. As said before they were always on hand but never intrusive.
Wonderful breakfast, nothing was too much trouble and we met other guests who were equally delighted.
The grounds are immaculate, a seating area with lounging chairs and a BBQ, horses, and peacocks.
We were shown other rooms and each one has it's own charm and features, no one but no one could be disappointed.
Overall Willington Lodge is a must for any traveller wanting peace, tranquility and to be thoroughly spoiled.
I would like to thank the Morris family for making our time both special and memorable,
Ruth and John.

A first class b and b, splendid hosts, excellent breakfasts, a thoroughly enjoyable stay. A lovely quiet retreat with easy access to Shrewsbury and the Percy Thrower gardens at the Dingle. A very pleasant change to a hotel stay and by no means the usual b and b.

Room Tip: I am sure all the rooms are of an excellent standard.

Stayed here in July as we headed up for the British Open. It is a stunning property and Pamela has done a brilliant job in decorating the place to be both warm and friendly. We got there a bit earlier then the 4 PM check in, but they could not have been kinder. Welcoming us into their kitchen for tea and coffee. Our room was in the courtyard and it was lovely and very clean, with a large bathroom. We could not believe how quite and peaceful it was there...and had a lovely glass of wine that Richard brought over to us in the courtyard before heading off to dinner in town. Pamela had tried to get us a cab but all where booked for the time we needed...so their lovely daughter took us to the restaurant that evening!! (now how is that for service) .. The breakfast can not be missed, and the room for breakfast is just lovely. Richard even brought us a morning paper as we had to leave a little early for the Open. They are a lovely couple, and Pamela certainly has a passion for her business and you can tell she truly loves people. I would highly recommend this B&B and if we find our way back up this way we will stay there again. Pamela did mention they are adding on some additional rooms that will be completed by December. Lovely people, pets, and animals! You will not be disappointed.

Starting with the faultless directions, I arrived to a very warm welcome accompanied by a complimentary drink and goodies! Loved the attention to detail and the genuine warmth of the hosts towards each and every guest, which made my stay feel relaxed from the moment I arrived. The accommodation was excellent and abundantly equipped with those little extras that make your stay feel special and all these finishing touches just spoke of owners that are really in tune with their clientèle. The breakfast was bountiful and really enjoyed exchanging comments on Willington Lodge and the amazing atmosphere Pam & Richard create. I would recommend this heavenly place to anybody wanting that memorable break from home!
