We were on Adeje for 7 days at the end of July .we took a junior suite room . very nice, clean, TV -LCD, Free Wifi Internet (sometimes was not working), cava and fruits on wellcome . The pool was amazing - very quiet and a lot of space to swim . Hotel staff was very helpfull - they made reservation for boat trips, water park, they made suggestion wat to visit..were to go
the gym was very small....but no need of it for us .
the beach very close ..but the hotel does not have prive beach. If you want to stay on the beach you must pay extra money for umbrella and sunbed
If you like a relaxing vacantion - this is the best place to stay
but if you like the nighlife - for sure you will not find it here. for nighlife we were in Playa del Americas--but we were not so impressed - maybe Tenerife is not a nightlife destination .

We stayed at this hotel from 1 September t0 15th September 2012. I was very excited going out as I have been to Adeje 3 other times and always looked at it and thought it looked amazing from the outside. The rooms are beautiful, We had a dressing room, lovely bathroom, 4 poster bed, sitting room and big balcony with table and chairs plus 2 sunbeds. A bottle of cava was chilling on our arrival which boded well. However the TV was old and lacked English speaking channels. I have stayed in 2 other 5 star hotels in the area and both had BBC1, BBC2 and ITV+1 plus it was in the lounge and could not been seen from the bed. The remote said there was pay TV but it didnt do anything. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room and the wifi was atrocious. We need to do business when on holiday so this was a nightmare for us. The gym is a joke, 4 machines only and a small selection of weights, officially opened at 9 but the door were open from 7. The pool area is fabulous, milkpond pool and very comfy sunbeds and proper towels. Pool man was really lovely and helpful and worked so hard. Breakfasts were normal, nothing out of the ordinary and the buffet restaurant at night was well below average. They charge £35 a head for it and the main courses were inedible.and sometimes the service is superb and sometimes abysmal. We met lovely people, and had a lovely holiday but it spoiled the trip for us. We will definitely go back to Adeje again but not the Mirador.

just returned from this hotel in tenerife, we chose this for our honeymoon after passing it on a previous trip to Tenerife and can say we are so glad we went there, ok about the hotel, it only has around 130 suites, but it is so spacious, we had a superior junior suite with sea view ,on the 4th floor, and the view was magnificent, we overlooked the patio and the pool area, the entrance to the hotel is like driving into a private mansion and very impressive, the reception is a large open space but with only a small reception desk of 2 people( so yes if there are a few people to check in you may have a wait) check in for us was around 9.30 pm, the receptionist was very good , offered us any drink(from the bar) we required while they went throught the paperwork and telling us about the hotel, and the drink was free of charge,we chose the half board basis and were told we could also use each of the speciality restaurants on site for 2 of our 7 night there at no extra charge, we were quickly shown to our suite and we were not dissapointed, it was clean, spacious and quite a fair size, with a walk in closet, wc and shower room inside the washroom, twin wash hand basins, bath, bidet, large bedroom space with king size bed, sitting room space, fridge t.v. balcony, air con, lamps, infact nearly everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel, let down for us was no tea making facility and no in room iron and ironing board (although iron and board was deliverd to our room very next day upon request). black out curtains a must as the hotel is south east facing and gets sun allday. the rest of the hotel was like i have said very spacious , never over crowded, the buffet resturant is as good as you will find in any 5 star hotel, food was plenty and wide choice both for evening meals and breakfast, and fresh, and you get a choice of main course which is served to you at your table, you help yourself to starter and desserts, (and for anyone who has been to anywere in spain befor they just dont do good desserts, all light fluffy fake cream but edible)the speciality restaurant served food to the qaulity of some of the finest restaurtant you could ask for i have been in a few great restaurants in my time and on this occasion they were excellent, the bar is small but ample size for the clientle of this hotel, there are atfreall a few bars just at the foot of the complex all easy to get to through the hotel( and are not the usual commercial type bars assosiated this the club 18/30 scene) the entertainment of the hotel is low key and ends at 11pm, some good singers and musicians while we were there, the grounds of the hotel are spaciuos, very very clean and quiet, now rthe swimming pool, it is stated that it is heated, well i have colder baths thats for sure so yes it is heated all year around, a very nice size pool and nearly the same depth all round,(around1.1mt) apart from a small area around the fountain, now the staff and the service, what can i say except each and every one of the staff were excellent, they made us feel that nothing was too much trouble for them and it wasnt, the service was proffesional and almost faultless,(one occasion we requested a beer poolside and it never made it to us this was a one off and at all other times faultless) and frindly, sunloungers, no matter were you go in the world there are some who set the alarms for 5 am just to go and get a sunlounger, (sad but true) the hotel was nearly full every day we were there and on only one occasion was it hard to find a sunlounger in the shade, but all you have to do is ask the pool attendant and he was only too pleased to fetch two sunloungers with a parasola and table and set them up for us,(so dont moan afterward about lack of sunloungers try asking) its hard to fault this hotel, and having reasd a few comment by previous holiday makers i really do wonder if all they do is look for something to complain about ,i have mentioned a few things already and nearly all were resolved in minutes, ok yes some of the patio /bar furnitue is not in its as new condition yes there are a few cosmetics bits and biobs but not enought to say its not a 5 star hotel, its not deluxe as i have seen it described, its not modern its a spanish style resort hotel that givea very very good service, dishes up great food, clean, tidy, friendly and for adults only, last note is that if you are expection a lay ina light sleeper you may need earplugs, the cleaners start around 8 am and each mornign hoover the patio are and move around furnitur in the rooms they are cleaning , all floors int he entire complex are tiled, the public area are open so yes this noise travels but will only disturbe you if close by. a few notes about this area of Tenerife, it is anything but flat so lots of sometime steep slopes to go up and down, lots of steps, and quiet compared to other area along this coast line, the beech is sandy and not over crowded, there are a few boutique shops and a few bisro resturant/bars, and thats it, there is a small shopping mall a few hundred yards from the hotel, and a lagre one just at the top of the hill, its a long walk to the commercial area and( sports) bars , so youi will not see and hen partys or stag dos in this area.

Room Tip: we had a superior junior suite and i can only comment on this suite that was large and had everythin...

We spent a week at Grand Hotel el Mirador at a friends wedding and consider this to be a very special hotel.
We had read previous reports on this hotel and weren’t quite sure what to expect we were pleasantly surprised, however, on arrival this is a very special place on a “grand scale”.
The hotel is in a great location and the building itself is of good design.
Great pool area with plenty of comfy loungers and lots of shady areas if required.
We stayed in a Superior Junior Suite the room size is really good with a large lobby area, a luggage come dressing room which was very handy indeed with ample room for storage as well as a safe.
The bathrooms are a good size with baths, showers, toilet & bidet.
There is also a sitting area with TV.
Our room also benefited from a “double aspect” balcony with sofa, two chairs and a coffee table, the views were terrific.
We found all the staff to be very friendly and obliging.
Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.
All the Hotel restaurants serve good food.
There is free “internet access” in the reading room off of the Reception area.
Not only is the hotel great, but the bars and restaurants in the local area surrounding it are good too.
We also went into La Caleta (20 mins walk approx) and there are some really nice spots to have a drink and lunch there, in particular Rosso Sul Mare Restaurant & Wine Bar.
We would definitely revisit this hotel again in the future.

I stayed at this hotel, with my husband, from 21 August- 31 August 2012 and could not fault the service, cleanliness, food or facilities. The best way to arrive at this hotel is by taxi, as unlike other resort hotels there is a private entrance down a sweeping drive, inaccessible to coaches. You arrive at a tranquil entrance hall decorated with palms and small ponds and furnished with comfortable chairs and are greeted by the first of the many attentive staff you will meet and are ushered to a small reception where you are invited to sit, rather than stand to check in. As you check in, you are offered a drink of your choice. We were shown to room 1508, a junior suite, ocean view, sole use, on the 5th floor. A covered walkway leads to these rooms, with views of the surrounding mountains, including volcano Teide. The room consists of a small dressing/storage room; a large bathroom, with bath, seperate toliet and bidet, seperate shower cubicle, and two basins;supesize half canopied bed, which we found comfortable, being firmer rather than soft; screen and step to sitting area, with 2 seater sofa and 2 charis, TV and coffee table;patio doors to private balcony overlooking shopping centre, promenade and beach. The room is decorated in a colonial style with ample storage space and plenty of mirrors, power points and lights. The air conditioning was effective and we found we could sleep with it on its first setting. The room would benefit from a fresh coat of paint but was spotlessly clean, with daily maid service and regular "turn down" service. Another nice touch was daily complementary bottled water. The El Mirador (meaning viewpoint) has, as the name suggests an advantageous position overlooking the Playa del Duque, renown as the premier beach in the Costa Adeje. The beach is a mixture of black volcanic sand and imported blond sand and may not be to everyones' taste, but is clean and safe to swim in. The hotel itself sits in an elevated position, so from the small garden area you have an uninterrupted view of the ocean from your day bed. The pool area is extremely peaceful, with plenty of beds, parosols and free towels. The pool attendant, Angelo,is happy to move parosols and day beds into your preferred position and was around the pool area every day of our 10 day stay.We preferred to move our beds onto the grass, using the shade of the palm trees, as the patio area reflected the heat. The lagoon style pool is warm and shallow, inviting you to relax rather than swim. It is very clean, with regular water checks being completed by the maintanence team. There were a few young people at this hotel, although we had booked it as being adults only, however they were quiet and respectful. We were on half board and ate at all three restaurants. Breakfast is buffet style, with extensive hot and cold selection, catering for the needs of guests from Russia, Germany, Holland, France and Italy, as well as UK.Cava is on offer as well as the more usual tea(including herbal), coffee and juice.Dinner is buffet starter, choice from a menu for main, and self service desert. In our 10 day stay the main menu was different each day.The food was cooked well and the cold buffet was on cold fed marble plinths. The chef offered special starters or sweets daily and occasionally there was complementary honey rum.The wine list was good but there was no problem with ordering just water or beer.We had a complementary meal in the La Pergola restaurant, overlooking the pool, where the food was excellent and another in the El Cenador al a carte restaurant, where the food was of high quality. We found all the staff in this hotel attentive and friendly. There are a couple of things I would suggest to improve the guest experience: the shower could be more powerful; there could be better lighting in the bathroom, so you can use the magnifying mirror more effectively; and we would have preferred it if smoking was prohibited from the outside resataurant area as well as the inside. I wish I could take this hotel to wherever I decide to travel to next!

Room Tip: Book "sole use" as this means you get your own balcony:rooms in Balconada(VIP) area share...

Have just returned from a three night stay at this hotel, and could not fault it in anyway.
From the moment we arrived until the moment we sadly checked out, everything was perfect.
Travelled with a friend, and we know the area well as we stay in Adeje 3 -4 times a year. Have stayed at many of the 5* hotels in this area - ie Sheraton, vinnci plantacion del sur, anthelia, tacande, but have to say this was luxury on a different level.
On arrival through the underground passage which incidently I thought was stunning, we were welcomed with a glass of cava whilst we were quickly and proffesionally checked in by Daniel.Escorted to our room, which was 1409, and shown where everything was located. The view from our balcony was beautiful.
Thought that the furnishings were delightful, and not in anyway shabby. the beds were extremely comfortable and i slept better here than in my own bed at home
we were only staying on a bed and breakfast basis, so cannot comment on the quality or service of the evening dining, but thought the choice at breakfast was excellent, and the staff, friendly, polite and courteous , overseen by davide, but was an absoulute star, assisting guests, but not in an intrusive manner.
it was wonderful to sit outside, and linger over breakfast, enjoying a glass or two of cava.
I know you can only go off your own personal experience, but cannot undertand how anyone can find fault with this hotel on any level.
To say that one of the problems encountered was that the hotel was full of russian guests!!!
Yes there were russian guests there, as well as french, spanish, and of course us brits, but surely they are entitled to holiday there as much as anyone else.
I would say ignore the negative reviews, and see for yourself.
we cannot wait to go back

Room Tip: think most rooms have a sea view but request a high floor for the most uninterupted view

We stayed in this hotel in August 2012 on a half board basis.
Hotel staff very friendly, varied choice of food from breakfast buffet. Dinners were amazing, every night different menu, with varied choice of main courses like rabbit, local fish, octopus veil and many others, plus hot and cold buffet, lovely desserts and great choice of wine (drinks not included in the half board). Everything well presented and of a great taste. Hotel grounds, swimming pool and lobby fabulous. Unfortunately we haven't had the chance to use the swimming pool area, as by the time when we finished breakfast and headed to the pool all the sun loungers were reserved by more competitive guests. A tip for this occasion would be to get up early, got to the pool, grab a towel and reserve a lounger. Leave your book and sun lotion to make the statement. If you are not so bothered by staying at the pool, the beach is only 5 min away. Hotel provides beach towels for free, so you can grab one or two from the pool area and head to the beach. Sun loungers on the beach are €19.50 for two beds and the parasol. We stayed in a second floor junior suite with a decent size terrace and sun loungers, which was a very nice addition. Rooms great, decorated in an oriental style, just as you would see on the pictures., safe, bathrobes and sleepers. Nice, big bathroom with separate bath and shower, separate walk-in closet. The downside was the double bed that was made of two twin beds and the constant smell of cigarettes in the room, which could be coming through the air-conditioning system. For non-smokers like us it was quite noticeable. Also the air-conditioning unit was pretty loud at night. Earplugs are a must if you are a light sleeper. The hotel was very quiet and the whole are was as well. There are few bars in the area that provide some night live music but that is it, so if you looking for something more you will have to get in a cab and venture somewhere further. Overall very pleasant stay, great and always smiling hotel staff, great food. We had a great time. And would go back again.

Room Tip: If you are non-smoker ask for a room on a non-smoking floor.
