We returned, yet again, but to another owners apartment which had the best view of all the apartments looking down the cascading pools & limited ocean views (see photos), The apartment was on the 1st floor, G6 owned by Huw & Diane Williams (see www.ownersdirect.com), spotless, newly tiled floor & comfortable beds, situated in an ideal set up where the balcony doors could be opened along with the front door which made a very good air flow on the hot afternoons, temps were anything from 25c-28c during day time to 17c -21c on an evening, so a light jacket or cardigan was worn later at night after a day lying & frying. Again we stayed clear of Fase 3 and again on Fase 2 just behind the pool bar. The whole complex, well Fase's 1 & 2, looked in good condition & were continued to be well looked after by the same staff since our last visit in August. Ideally situated for all amenities that Costa Adeje, Torviscas & Fanabe have on offer & an easy stroll to PdlA or catch the bus across the road. Usual bars & restaurants visited i.e. The Original Wigan Pier for the best breakfast & snacks & to see the vocalists & all the great staff that are employed down there who do a great job making MOST peoples holiday one they won't forget & certainly return to, although there are always a few whingers, as Britain is famous for, that just can't grasp their British sense of humour. Milanos & the Colonial Bar in Fanabe, Mario's in San Eugenio, Ghandi's & the Place 2 Be under Santa Maria complex. I realised that we have visited MV 7 times now in 3 different apartments but all well situated, quiet, clean & a home from home as you would want it to be so will definitely be booking for a return in the new year. Whoever goes? Enjoy yourselves on Fase 1 or 2.

stayed here a few times and ive been back for more so it cant be to bad!
10 pools, not heated most running through the resort, poolside bar and on site bar quite reasonable prices.
just off the motorway and about 24 - 30 euros taxi drive.
this is the quiet end and easy walking distance to the resort center and nightlife.
there are some residents here and it can be booked through travel agents and privately so check prices.
accomodation is average and generaly clean with flush toilets and the maids come in randomly to clean and tidy.
helpful staff and taxi drivers know it which is always helpful when you are drunk.
security is pretty strict which is good.

Room Tip: try get one in the last phase

I've just come back from a two week stay in Mare Verde on Fase 2 room F11/12.
Me and 3 other girls stayed in a two bed roomed apartment which had a brilliant view of the mountains and the pool view with two really big balcony's.
In our kitchen we had washing machine, cooker, over, microwave, toaster, fridge freezer and everything you'd need.
We had a sofa that turns into a bed with a table and chairs, also a DVD player with lots of dvds and a free view English box.

The complex had a great pool bar with english breakfast for only 3 euro and snacks/toasties exc with cheap drinks.
There is 7 pools which are very good with two great slides, such fun!!

outside the complex is a little town with shops/bars/restaurants and taxi's to take you places.
I highly recommend a bar called the wigan pier, which is a walk down from complex. friendly staff, quiz's, live music every night! and also across the road is a 24 hr supermarket which is useful, theres wifi at the pool bar, and a water place which you pay 50cents for something like 5lters of water, alot cheaper than shops.

I really dont understand these bad reviews. I enjoyed my time here and would come again and again!
Thank you Mare-Verde

Booked for my Mum to stay here as she booked after us and we were at a complex round the corner. Stayed here in 1999 and it was OK then . Was shocked when we arrived. The apartment was next to the top pool. We knew the top pool had been closed down due to a leak but the place looked like a shanty town. The ground floor apartment had metal doors in addition to the glass sliding doors that you had to lock yourself in with so this was a serious fire hazard but due to security you had no choice. The apartments were noisy at night time. It seems many people live there and some apartments look like they have been abandoned. It is a very cheap complex so if you want a cheap no frills holiday then fine. The apartment itself was clean with good facilties but the complex and safety factor really let it down. They also let dogs stay there and there is dog mess and barking throughout the complex. If this had been my first experience of Tenerife, it would be my last.

Room Tip: Don't book into a room by the top pool, the other areas that have been painted peach at least lo...

Our 5th time at Mare Verde & 1st time in this apartment on Fase 1, 1st floor. An immaculate, well proportioned & well equipped apartment. We noticed that all the work was completed on this Fase but never looked up on to Fase 3, all the paintwork had been finished on the apartments, which are now a sandy / buff colour & looked good. The complex was very busy but still had plenty of sun loungers, at 1.50 euros per day, to be got. Strangely, we only seen one cat throughout our 1 weeks stay but a bonus was that we had only seen one cockroach & that was a dead one!! The Tiki bar looked a bit 'Lived in' but was good for our requirements, as were the people who ran it & the food / snacks. The weather was, as it should be for this time of year, all sun & a few odd clouds that soon dissolved in the heat, once clear of the mountains, A very enjoyable stay & we will continue to come here & the other apartment we have rented on this Fase as & when they become available for years to come. Centrally located for easy access to buses, restaurants, bars & beach...Roll on October. Enjoy!!

Room Tip: Only go onto Fase 1 or 2

Me and my partner have just returned from Mare Verde we had an apartment on phase 3 which is the worst of the complex the apartment itself was ok it had everything we needed. The main pool where we were staying adjacent to the apartment had been drained because of cracks and leaking and I can not see this been fixed in the near future I heard while there that it will be November before a decision is made about this pool. The pool is not properly cordoned off and on more than one occasion we witnessed children playing around this empty pool which is dangerous if they had to fall in as its very deep. Phase 3 seems to be mainly a residential area and most of the apartments there have not been lived in for sometime and you can see the electrics hanging from the outside walls of them when you pass them. Phase 1 and 2 have been refurbished and look ok but even the pools there had tiles coming off them also there are a lot of cats and dogs on the complex and you can smell where the cats have been going to the toilet throughout the complex. We would never return to the Mare Verde and especially phase 3 which is run down and dirty and no holiday atmosphere at all we were very disappointed.
