“Small niggles.”

This is a German owned hotel and sold primarily for the German market. The guests were 80% German, 10% Spanish and the remainder British, Italian and rest of the world. It is an older style hotel which has been modernised but I like the relaxed layout and choices of exit. Our room was small but adequate, bathroom was excellent. Electronic door locks seem to be quite temperamental. Children are well catered for by the multi lingual animation team who are also responsible for sun bed supervision. Reservation of beds is frowned upon and you may get your towels confiscated if you are not present when the team check on transgressors. Almost enough sunbeds but they are too close. Food is great and all credit to the chefs for their imagination. Drinks are free except for spirits. Christmas dinner was a small disaster. Two sittings, impossible to cater for 250 people all at once. All staff are very friendly. Accommodation choices are tricky. North side, you may be over the kitchens, west side, service road to another hotel, early morning wholesale fruit business, south side, view of another hotel, east side, next to tennis/games court and nearest to the stage. Room changes are possible.

Room Tip: North side top floor would be best.

I can echo some of the comments of previous reviews in that this hotel caters for predominantly German visitors , and the entertainment team activities and shows are conducted in German.
Having said that that would be the only negative (if you can call it that ) comment that I would make. Would people complain if the only language used was Spanish when visiting a Spanish Island ???
We found the food and choice of desserts of a good standard and variety , and 2 young kids always managed to find something to fill their plates, before going up to the 4 varieties of ice cream and arrangement of cakes.
The self service soft drinks dispenser enabled you (and the kids) to get coke, fanta, sprite , diet coke etc very easily without queuing at the bar etc, also available was a coffee/hot chocolate/ tea machine , again self service.
I found both the pool area, rooms and restaurant to be in a very clean condition , and as for the cockroaches , seen far more of these insects outside the hotel and in the streets than I did in the hotel.
I'm sure as this hotel becomes more popular with English speaking tourists then the entertainment and entertainment team will cater for this. Would not hesitate to visit again.
On the Sunbed front , as a general rule these were always available up until about 9am , and the hotel staff would walk round the pool reviewing if beds with towels on we're not being used and remove them. I have seen far worse on other overseas trips with people reserving beds at 5:30 am as out flight got in !!!
So yes I would recommend this hotel - although FREE wi-fi would be nice , but this is available at a lot of local bars anyway.

Room Tip: Due to the layout of the hotel not many of the rooms will offer you an ideal view, the settings on t...

Have just returned from 12 nights at the Los Hibiscus. The hotel was very clean and the
rooms were modern and spacious. But the view from our room and all the other British guests was of a brick wall as our rooms were below ground level. Also, during our stay, the swimming pool was closed 3 days out of 4 because someone had been defacating in the pool and it had to be closed. We also had trouble getting sun loungers as there were not enough to go round and people using orange towels seemed to get priority. The food was lukewarm most nights and there was not a great choice unless you were a great fan of pork or fish which seemed to be on every night. The entertainment team only spoke German and British guests were not catered for. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good holiday.

Stayed July 23rd to 31st as a party of 3 adults. The property looks lovely and is on three levels. We were put in -1 as were most British tourists. The room was sold to us as a studio suite suitable for three adults; this was not the case. It was a bedroom with a bed settee not suitable for an adult especially one over 5foot 9. There was no view from the balcony except for a brick wall and we found several big cockroaches in the room every day despite plugging in an insect repellent. The other floors of the property were reserved for other nationalities and looked lovely. We did contact our tour operator who was not particularly helpful. The staff at the hotel were excellent and would have helped in whatever way they could. The food was often luke warm which I suppose is to be expected for all inclusive . The entertainment was all in German even Mama Mia was dubbed in German with English subtitles. The hotel on the whole was kept clean and maintained but there were also cockroaches to be seen in the dining room on our last day there which was quite offputting.
There was no chance of getting a sunbed at the pool any day we were there as they all were reserved with orange towels very early in the morning despite this practice being frowned upon.

Had we been staying on one of the first floor properties we might have had a more enjoyable stay. I would recommend taking a bus trip to Masca it is well worth the money just for the scenery but don't go if you are worried about heights as the roads are really precariously near the cliff edge. Don't opt for the barbeque lunch it is not worth the money. Monkey Park is another good trip and costs about 7 euros in a taxi.

Room Tip: The swimming pool was closed for four of the days we were there. Make sure you have a room on groun...

stayed at this hotel from 5th to 19th julywe had
an early flight we arrived at lunchtime on arrival
we were booked in by a very friendly receptionist
who even took the time to show us to our room
We noticed right away how clean this hotel was
our room was nice clean it was comfy the cleaning
staff kept it that way through out our stay.
The restaurant
great choice of food for breakfast lunch and dinner which
was always very good.outside dining area pool snack bar
you can get breakfaast at the snack bar till 11oclock lunch
is served here as well if you do not want to go into the
restaurant.
The swimming pool
never had to get up at 6am to reserve a sunbed always had
breakfast around 9am never had any problems getting a sunbed
hardly any of them were booked at this time nice swimming pool
area what i liked most was the friendly staff they make you feel
welcome from the moment you arrive
this is a very good hotel the reason i gave it four out of five is
because it caters only for germans the animation team is german everything is german all you can get on your tv is
german channels there were other uk families and spanish as
well. This hotel has recently opened its doors to other nationalitys and this issue has to be adressed by the hotel
management and tour operators.Having said that i would
reccomend this hotel and wouldn,t hesitate to use again
must mention great bar across the road called the pheasant plucker british bar great mc great entertainment john smiths 3 euros a pint magic well worth a visit we had 5

Room Tip: pool view recomended

This hotel caters for mainly German tourists and I found that a problem with the language barrier. That aside we had no real complaints . The accommodation was great and the hotel staff very friendly. There was plenty to choose from when you decided to eat although sometimes the food was a bit lukewarm. Entertainment was provided at night and most of it was good when the language barrier never came into play. I would definitely recommend a holiday break here.

As our second family holiday this was them ultimate experience for us. It is catered for the German community, but if you speak the language then don't let this put you off, from the minute we arrived we were smiling, the staff asked us to put our baggage into storage so we could go and eat and relax for an hour or 2 and then check in when we were ready, throughout the holiday the staff were so friendly and helpful we couldn't have asked more from them. The hotel itself was very nice it's not your normal style high rise hotel it's 3 high bungalow style rooms with large terraces circled around a nice central pool and bar area with stage for the evening entertainment. If the kids they are completely looked after by the alltours animautures from 1 up to 17. And the shows were very good and funny. With this being a all inclusive hotel you do not need to leave really. We went to the beach once and went out on a boat ride to see the dolphins then rest of the time we aged within the hotel complex as there is always something to do, I would definitely recommend this hotel but only if you speak German or have a German partner.

Room Tip: Choose by the pool as better location if you have kids
