“Lovely holiday, good price”
Reviewed 2 July 2013

After booking this hotel for a last minute holiday, we didn't really know exactly what to expect. However, everything was lovely! Check in was simple, although advised not to by others on here, we signed up for Club Melia for the free wifi. We were invited to collect a 'free gift' which we're glad we didn't collect, as it is chocolates and it is to get you there to try and sell you something I believe..

The buffet for Breakfast, Lunch and dinner was brilliant - everything was replenished frequently, certain things like fresh fish were cooked in front of you and there is a large, varying selection of food changing from day to day, as well as fruits, salads, desserts, etc.

As we're not big alcohol drinkers, we were happy with the water, soft drinks and coffees which were self serve at the bars to reduce queues, however in the evenings when we did fancy a drink, we were put off by the large queues for the bar with only 1 person serving!

We opted for a standard room and didn't pay for sea view, however we did have a sea view and the room, 304, was in a great position - half was between the restaurant/bar and the bottom pool, which is also lovely.

It's about a 10 minute walk to the beach, but I did read that there is a free bus which runs 3 times a day down to the beach in the morning and then back up in the afternoon.

We were hoping for a late check out 32euro for 3pm and 54euro for 6pm, but as the hotel was full we couldnt, however the hotel does offer a courtesy room for half an hour to shower and change before going to the airport - make sure you book that early in the morning and for earlier than you wish to leave as we booked it for 4.45 and didnt get in until 5.15 as others had overrun, having a knock on effect.

Overall a lovely stay, and in my opinion, good value for money.

My wife and I have just come back from this brilliant hotel :-( we arrived to a massive room on level 1 overlooking the pool, right next to the pool bar (room 102). I was taken aback how good this hotel was. Very clean throughout! The food was excellent, breakfast had a massive selection, lots of fresh fruit, full English and even freshly cooked omlette. Lunch we got from the pool bar lots to choose from and ice Lollys food is served there until 5:30pm so even if we was out for the day we could get a late lunch there. Dinner was very good, different selection every night, themed evenings Asian, Mexican, Spanish and a few others. Fresh fish and meat cooked in front of you. Desserts were good recomend the chocolate orange cake!! The entertainment after the kids disco was quite good we only caught the last 3 nights as didn't know where it was but it is in the sports bar underneath the terrace bar.
The hotel grounds are well looked after waterfalls running everywhere. Very nice looking hotel could be a five star. Excellent views of the neighbouring resorts along the bay especially at night. I cannot find fault with the hotel had such a good time there. Staff very helpful and polite. Fanabe beach a 15min walk away. But el duque beach closer with more golden sand. All in all a very good hotel and would recommend to anyone.

Just returned from the Melia Jardines Del Teide after a week with my wife, the Hotel itself covers a lot of good points but also negative ones for example.

The self service drinks if your AI allows you to pour soft drinks, Tea & Coffee only, ( let people pour their own Lager & Wine as in other 4* star Hotels ) this causes unecessary queue's around the pool bar and terrace bar of which there are limited staff working at these two areas.

The food was excellent both at the pool and in the restaurant and staff were very quick to serve you drinks, the pool area and daytime entertainment for both Kids & Adults if you wanted to join in
were also excellent.

Unfortunately the evening entertainment lounge was more like a kids recreation ground which left adults with no kids the only option of either going to the terrace bar which really didn't inspire you to spend a full evening in there or going into the resort.

The room was very big and had it's own private terrace although the furnishings where a bit dated it served the purpose.

As a couple i doubt i would stop there again so i am basing my opinion on just two of us, but for families great. I don't class this as a 4* Hotel as i have stayed in many other 4* and this just doesn't live upto the others.

Room Tip: Keep away from rooms 600 + as they are above the restaurant and where told by other guest's that...

Me and my boyfriend went to this hotel in June 2013 for one week, it was amazing. Would defo return.. The hotel is gorgeous, stunning views, beautiful surroundings within the hotel and very polite staff. The full English breakfast was nice but the bacon isn't all that, a big selection of food and desserts every meal time. I would recommend this hotel it was a nice chilled out atmosphere with a few families with children but there is an area where children do not enter during the day and a kiddies disco at night.. To get to the local 24 hour shop and bank also a few restaurants you do have to walk down a hill but it's not that bad as you can get back into the hotel from round the back so you don't have to go all the way round to the front. We personally didnt like las Americas as it was dirty looking and full of young people just wanting to get off there heads so we just stayed at the hotel or went round costa adeje for a few nice meals. We definately recommend going to loro parque, it was very good.. A hour and half to get there but once your there the shows are really good - killer whales, dolphins and sea lions.

Room Tip: High level sea view

Having visited for 10 days recently, Me and my Girlfriend thought that the hotel was actually better than the island itself and had more to offer. The reason to come to Tenerife was for a cheap all inclusive option and at Melia you certainly get your moneys worth and more.

The first impression of the hotel was a very nice surprise as i didn't expect it to look so good, the views are amazing from the top bar area and panoramic lobby.

We got a room with a sea view which was worth it, also Champagne and Chocolates on arrival as it was an anniversary which was a nice touch. Room was very spacious and clean.

The restaurant is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, all of which have a wide variety of food, especially dinner where it is literally a meat and fish fest! so fill your boots!. You can also get lunch down at the poolside snack bar, which has burgers, kebab meat and other salad options and ice creams. The snack bar also does a great barbecue on Friday/Saturday nights which is a meat feast!

There is two pools, the top one being more for younger children, and the bottom one more for adults as it is quite deep. There are daily activities at the bottom pool, ranging from Table Tennis, Darts Water Polo and others, which keeps everyone entertained. There is a lot of sunbeds around the pool but make sure to get there early as it does get quite busy.

The bar at the top is a nice place to wind down at the end of the day, The alcoholic drinks are many and are strong! (mainly because they put more alcohol in than a mixer, but who's complaining!?). Entertainment is average but there are pool tables available.

All the staff are faultless, very friendly and always willing to help out if you have an issue.

Its a short walk down to del Duque Beach which is usually very busy, there is also a designer shopping centre and many restaurants along the promenade.

For the thrill seekers i would definitely recommend the Siam water park for a great day out (there is a bus stop down the road from the hotel which is free).

Would most definitely use Melia Hotels again, but at another destination.

Check the website and everything it says about the Hotel is spot on. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the Hotel and there was plenty of choice with the food. The Hotel is built on the hillside, so it's about 10/15 minutes from the promenade and tests your fitness walking back up to the Hotel. There are 132 steps from the pool to the reception on the 5th floor, so there is an opportunity for some exercise or alternatively you can take the lift. Great views from the Hotel across to the south west of the island. Would definitely recommend this Hotel and go back if returning to Costa Adeje.

Stayed here with my wife for a week early June 2013 on an all inclusive basis, Found it to be a fantastic Hotel, Staff were very friendly and helpful, as for the food it was varied and plentiful, no room for complaint, our room was huge with a balcony overlooking the pool and the resort,It was about a ten minute walk into the resort center downhill so no problems there either walk back wasnt really that bad , but if your not to bright on your feet, a taxi wouldnt cost very much to return, would definately reccomend this place and would return without hesitation.
