Myself & the wife have just stayed for a couple of weeks in late June, second time at the Hotel in the last 9 months & once again a very relaxing holiday. The staff are very well trained & friendly & the overall standard is extremely good, overall cleanliness is exceptional. Only took the B & B option because we prefer to eat out when we feel like it, a good area for reasonable restaurants, having said that the food in the Hotel is a very good standard, whether you take the Buffet or A La Carte option. The Director of the Hotel always does his "daily rounds" which reflects in all of the above, highly recommended from a seasoned traveller.

Room Tip: The "Masca" block is directly facing the sea, whether you take the sea-view standard or se...

My wife and I along with our 22 month old son have just returned from an 8 day stay at this hotel. We were immediately impressed when we arrived, the hotel lobby is lovely and the reception staff were extremely welcoming, taking time to explain the little details about the hotel and ensuring we had everything we needed.

The hotel is in a great location, leaving from the front takes you to some amazing shops in a modern shopping centre, while the back of the hotel allows you to walk onto the beach and along a promenade lined with some really good restaurants. Our favourite was Coeur de Fillet and La Torre del Mirador (near the Bahia Del Duque Hotel).

The pool area was really impressive, surrounded with different types of palm like trees, grass areas and plenty of umbrellas. We had booked a suite so were provided with reserved sun beds around the pool but even so there were loads of sunbeds available at all times of day, nobody seemed to have any issues getting a good spot. Three pools, the main and children’s pools being heated which meant my son didn’t have any issues about getting into the cold water!!

The rooms are nice, a little dated in design but spotlessly clean and serviced regularly by some really lovely housekeepers. We had a perfect pool view and large terrace to sit and watch the world go by.

The hotel, its location and facilities are great but what really made our holiday special were the staff that work in his hotel. Without exception, they are all friendly, helpful, polite and extremely happy. It’s difficult to single out any in particular as they were all excellent but the waitresses around the pool, the lady that works in the little coffee/tea shop and the bar staff in Tiffany’s were fantastic. However, the team that work in the breakfast restaurant provided an even higher level of service again. I can honestly say I have never encountered such amazing, friendly and helpful staff in any hotel I have stayed. Each day we went to the breakfast buffet, they made a massive fuss of my son and were absolutely charming towards my wife and me. Wonderful, wonderful staff!

My wife and I are 35-40 years old but the average age of people staying in this hotel was definitely quite a lot older. This feels like an adult only hotel but despite this there were plenty of things for my son to do, with a small playground and plenty of space for him to run around. We were quite glad that there was not a large kids club or constant music and entertainment around the pool (like some other hotels in the area we visited) as it made for a relaxing holiday.
This is a great hotel with excellent facilities, in a lovely location made all the better by the staff that work there.

If you are someone who appreciates the good things in life, then this is the hotel for you.
From our arrival at TFS where the hotel had arranged our top of the range taxi service, we could not find fault with any aspect of our week long stay. We stayed on a B&B basis only because Costa Adeje offers such a wide range of quality restaurants. The hotel breakfasts however are without question the best my wife and I have experienced in many years of world wide travels.
The final tribute must go to the staff all of whom seem prepared to go the extra mile to ensure guests enjoy their holiday experience. Our breakfast waitress who we nicknamed Speedy Gonzalez only to discover that was indeed her surname typified this attitude.
Can't wait to go back.

Would of given this hotel 4.5 if it were possible but the staff (every single one of them) tipped the balance to a 5 - they were fantastic

Lovely clean rooms. Excellent swimming pool. Fantastic weather. Food was good but not a huge choice

Evening entertainment variable - Elton John tribute, take a bow !

Would def go back

We spent ten days at this hotel and were absolutely delighted. Everything was excellent.
We had a junior suite. It was very comfortable and very clean . The staff was very friendly be it at the reception, in the restaurant or bar. The room maids were polite.
The food was great, the waiters extremely friendly. We really enjoyed our breakfast and dinner as well..
The only thing we didn't like so much was the fact that the very many guests reserved their seats at the pool with their towels early in the morning. ( Germans and British tourists mostly ).
All in all we highly recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to enjoy some very relaxing time in a beautiful place. The hotel Roca Nivaria is as great as the Jardines.

This is a lovely hotel. The pool is fantastic, and if you are willing to rise at 8am you will even secure a lovely bed and umbrella...the towels go down fast and the hotel don't enforce their own rule to confiscate any towels on 'reserved' beds. The rooms are clean and very comfortable....but their is no coffee available (you can hire a kettle for 20 GBP). There's also no ice available, as the hotel wants you to use they mini bar. They even left a note complaining that i squeezed in a non-hotel juice to the fridge (for my diabetic father)...poor show, and disappointing effort at money grabbing. Be prepared to spend cash, as they hotel does try squeeze you for everything. The juices are exterminate as are the alcoholic drinks - circa 5 times higher than high end bars/restaurants immediately out the front door. Major complaint was that despite emailing the hotel in advance that i was bringing a disabled guest, they placed us in what was quite possibly the furthest room from the lobby. It seems they hoped we would upgrade and that placing us so far away would be our motivation. Older crowd and mature couples. Nice location. Spa is very expensive! Staff are tad lazy and struggle with English. It's as though they are trying to be 5 star but have employed 3 star resource.

Room Tip: most rooms seemed ok.

Thank you very much for your comment here on TA.
We are very sorry that we did not meet your expectations. It is correct that we offer a tea / coffee package on a price of 15 Euro, approximately 12 GBP, not 20GBP!
It is also correct that we ask our guest not to use the minibar for private items as it is to keep cool our products. In case a client needs it for medicine, we will find a solution, but therefore we need to be informed.
The prices of food and drinks in our hotel are normal 5star prices and similar to the prices of other 5 star hotels in the region.
Normally our guests are not having problems with the English of our staff, as you can read in other comments as well. We do English, German, Russian and French courses to assure that our staff know the basics. And they always do their best and try to understand our guests.
We are sorry that you had a different experience.
We offer handicapped accessible rooms. The room type is a double room with garden / pool view, that has to be booked, if one need such a room. Plus we need to be informed in advance that such a room is booked and required so that we can block it for the guest. What we will do. Maybe in your case there was a misunderstanding.

We wish you all the best and remain at your entire disposal.

Kind regards,

the Management.

We normally stay at the Roca Nivaria up the road but decided to give the Jardines a try for a change over New Year 2013/14.

Its much more centrally located but considerably more old fashioned than its sister hotel and this seems to be appealling to older people, no doubt also because of the very good access for the less mobile, we frequently had to get out of the way of powered wheelchairs zooming around the place !

It's a mix of styles with annexes added on - we had a split level room with a sea view towards the rear of the hotel. Our master room upstairs was fantastic with a nice balcony but the boys (13 & 15) room downstairs was dim, dowdy with uncomfortable beds which folded out of the wall taking up most floor space, a tiny loo & no storage so they had to come upstairs for clothes etc - not really 5 star for them ...

Food was good & plenty choice in the restaurant which could be a bit hectic & seemed to become almost over capacity at times - there were often queues at the buffet & we rarely got the same table twice - with only a handful of tables outside and staff clearly running about daft at times it was not really a very relaxed experience much of the time!

Breakfast choice was OK and lunch by the pool was good if not a bit slow on the service front and we twice had chicken raw in the middle.

Pools were excellent but youngsters of all ages got a hard time if they splashed even a little bit as the oldies pestered the lifeguards to strictly police anyone who wasn't slowly swimming up & down - probably to protect their expensive hairdoos.

Poolside drinks service was patchy & the birds pinch your peanuts !

That said the gardens were beautiful & all the staff were very polite & attentive - there was good entertainment most nights and some snooker tables for the few youngsters that were about.

Gym is small but functional - there is a charge to use the Tennis court

We had a great holiday but felt this hotel didn't justify the extra cost & was really more suited to older couples rather than families so will go back to the Roca next time.

Room Tip: Hotel sits directly behind & above public thoroughfare & some rooms at the front may be less...

Thank you very much for having tried our Jardines de Nivaria this time.
We are sorry, that we did not meet your entire expectations. We always do our best to make it right for everyone, which is probably not possible.
Nevertheless we are glad to know that you like our Roca Nivaria and that you will be back to the Roca. If our family hotel suits you better, is absolutely fine with us! :)

Take good care.
