Myself, wife and four other family members stayed here all inclusive September 2012.
Cost for 10 days 1200.00 euros for my Wife and I.

Booking in was painless as we were not with a coach party so were straight at the desk and all the points to note were explained and wrist bands were applied.

Went to rooms which were clean but nothing special. Bathroom was nice and clean and had everything you need. Room has a tv and a fridge which i could not get working fully.

We had a pool / sea view so that was lovely.

A/C is good

Resteraunt was ok. It seemed lovely to see the food at first few days but soon got boring.

House wine they serve is not the best nor is there versions of Gin / Vodka etc.

Pool is lovely. All two of them.

There is an entertainment team that get you involved so dont be a lard asse and get involved and you will have fun.

Loads of other bars on the front. Just walk out the hotel and down the road opposite and you will come to the beach. Loads that have to football on.

Would i go back ? No. Just a bit boring for me. It caters mainly for the older. When i walk into a hotel and see mobility scooters i think OH no what have i done. There was a sprinkling of younger but not many.

Peopls start to move about from 6AM onwards so expect to be woken up by people running showers and wheeling cases up and down etc.

I do like the area though so will try an appartment next time.

Room Tip: Ask for pool side level 4 and above.

We stayed at the Luabay Costa Adeje from the 14th to the 21st September, well upon arrival we thought well this looks like a nice hotel.
We arrived at 1.40pm and was not allocated a room till 3.50pm.

When we arrived at the room, we said this is not a platinum, we had three draws and about 6 coathangers, but that was ok we were only there for a week. I decided to have a shower, after reading the reviews I put the towel down to stop the water from running into the floor, well the water ran onto the floor flooding the room because the water was just pumping out of the waste pipe. Told reception and they came and un plugged it.

We went into the restaurant to find that the air conditioning was not working, over the week we had chipped crockery, on one occasion I lifted a plate and my hand was covered in food from the previous persons meal. Cups were chipped and dirty. Food was not up to a platinium standard. Not much choice, breakfast was best, plenty of beans and eggs.

The spiral stairs from reception up to the restaurant didnt have a light, so was very dark at night, and people had to watch were they were stepping.

Air conditioning didnt work in the lounge area, also every bar you went to you had to que because there was not enough staff, they staff were worked off their feet.

Sunbeds well talk about being british, the main people putting towels on sunbeds were british and they were out at 6.30am in the dark, some even had torches (how sad). The covered area by the pool, the settees even people were puttingbeach towels on those, informed rep and he could'nt belive it.

Location was good, but have to say the people who have put good reviews have either not been all inclusive before,or even been to a platiunum hotel, becase this hotel is only a 3/4 star, cannot fault staff they were brilliant. Entertainment not up to standard.

All in all not worth the price we paid,

If you need any further information please contact me.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the pool and partial sea view. room 328

Your complaint about the food and the cleanliness and state of crockery and cups will be forwarded to the responsible department and solved as soon as possible. We are very sorry that you had to experience the breakdown of our air-conditioning system. It is now fixed again and all the public areas are nice and chilly again. We would be very honoured to welcome you at our hotel again in the future.

This was the first time we had been on hols abroad in 8 years . however , we were very happy with the hotel. The food was great and we were upgraded to the honemoon suite due to us e mailing them prior to turning up for a cheeky bottle of champagne. Very roomy room and had massive verander. Air con was fine but the fridge was placed in a cupboard that starved it of new cool air so had to leave the cupboard door open in order for it to get cool. Just tell the room cleaners to leave it open for you otherwise it will get warm again.. Very nice clean pool areas and the entertainment team are friendly and happy peeps along with the staff , all of which were helpful. Did spend most of our days on the beach however due to ingorant peeps leaving towels on loungers from 7.30am onwards. This means you dont get to lay in a bit as you have to get your own lounger reserved!!
Ps Dont go thinking you will get a session in the gym in nice n early before the temps rise as the gym does not open till 11.00am this was the only big let down as we do enjoy gym.

Stayed at the Luabay Costa Adeje with my husband at the end of September. The hotel is very clean bright and contemporary. Fantastic location. Views from pool areas are lovely. Rooms aren't huge, but are fine for two people and are well appointed with well placed plug sockets near mirrors! Plenty of hanging space in wardrobes. Good air con in rooms. Food was good, particularly enjoyed breakfast and drinks were good quality, you must try the slushy cocktails! Spa was lovely. I cannot understand negative reviews - based on what we paid for a week's all inclusive - £600 each - the holiday was great value for money which if you think roughly breaks down to £200 flight, £200 food & drink and £200 for the hotel. I worked with the industry for a number of years and you don't get many four star hotels for under £100 a night, room only, in the UK, and some of those aren't a patch on the Luabay. Star ratings are based generally on what facilities are available at a hotel, not necessarily on quality, although we thought that the Luabay was on a par with a Couples Platinum we stayed at in Turkey earlier this year. People need to be realistic in their expectations. Only slight niggle was the battle for sunbeds and umbrellas, we generally got beds, but people tended to hog the umbrellas whether they had them up or not! Anyway if you struggle, the beach is really nice and there are deckchairs there with umbrellas where you can have a drink! All in all a great holiday and we would recommend and will return one day.

We have just returned from a week in the Luabay Hotel. We arrived on the 23rd September, after reading the previous reviews we were a little worried, but need not have been. Our holiday was one of the nicest we have had. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. We both really enjoyed the food and the choice was really good. Booked into the Mexican night, on Saturday, but were disappointed with this, wish we had kept to the main area. We went on the night excursion to Mount Tiede, which we liked, although perhaps a bit too long on the coach. The previous reviewers were quite right when they mentioned the sundbeds being reserved in the early mornings, gave us a source of amusement, and did not cause us a problem, as we always managed to get a sunbed where we wanted one, but agree how annoying it is to watch people not turning up until 4pm in the afternoon. No further grumbles, just to say what a lovely and restful week we have had. Thank you very much Luabay.

Room Tip: Keep to the higher levels, poolside if you can, as you get a good view out in the bay, and no noise...

Dear Carole, thank you very much for your review and the kind words you have for our hotel and our staff. We are glad you enjoyed the food in our main restaurant and will forward the complaint about the Mexican a la carte to the respective department, so they can discuss changes to the menu. Thank you for choosing and recommending Luabay! We would love to welcome you at one of our hotels again in the future!

Just returned from a 2 week holiday to this hotel which is in the perfect location, but have to say the hotels 303 rooms were fully booked and this reflected in the dining hall when it seemed all 600 plus residents appeared to descend at meal times, all at once, with only one grill working, therefore the queues soon formed. also the lifts were not up to coping with this amount of people as they were slow and hot and we met many people giving up and using the stairs. food was a bit repetitive and a bit tasteless. air condition could have been better. would I return to this hotel ? NO

Room Tip: rooms do not have enough storage space
