Myself and my wife stayed on the 25th september for a week. Our room was on the 8th floor with the biggest balcony / terrace you have ever seen. We paid to have the spendit service which we booked with thomsons. The room was a massive suite with free mini bar and bath towels and slippers chocolates and champange on arrival. The hotel was spotless and the cleaner of our room and the night staff who left chocolates every night with a card to let yo know what the weather was going to be the next day. Food was great so was the entertainment. The hotels public relations manager Alaina was top class and made sure we knew everything about our entitlements as a spendit guess. I know we paid extra for all above but it was well worth it. Well done all at the Luabay Hotel. Kevin & Inga

One major gripe, lack of draw space why put shelves either side of the bed where you could just as easily fitted bedside cupboards with draws and created a little more storage space! One other complaint some (not all) rude waiters,
on 3 occasions I actually laid our table myself having been directed to various parts of the dining room where no tables were available.

Room: we had 511 with a view up into hills to left and sea view to right a little noisy with air con units on car park but did not prevent us from using the balcony occasionally, some afternoons we took a drink up and sat out before getting ready for the evening. Had issue with air con leaking, maintenance man there within 15-20 mins took 2 visits to sort but caused us no problems really nice guy.

Food: This was the bit we were dreading: having both contracted food poisoning on our first all inclusive to Cuba last year and having read some negative reviews about the food we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and choice available. Some of the reviewers on here must surely live in stately homes if they come home to such a wide choice every evening, pasta station, freshly cooked pizza, 2 choices fresh from grill, 1 fish, 1 meat most evenings along with some form of stir fry on heat in a wok and varied paella along with other evening choices such as steak pie, roast beef with yorkies etc these being varied from day to day. My wife did get a little fed up towards end of second week with the repetition but as an absolute carnivore I had no complaints.

Themed Dining: don’t miss out on the themed evenings either, 2 per week 1 Spanish tapas and 1 Mexican you need to book these a.s.a.p. as they get fully booked very quickly. As we were there for 2 weeks we had the option of going twice to both which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. There was a choice of menu on the Mexican evening so for those of you who hate repetition avoid going to the Spanish evening as the tapas is the same!!!

Sun beds: When in Rome----Don’t like the idea of getting up early to get a bed in a decent spot but if you leave it till a “normal time” NO CHANCE! As my wife likes to lie and fry she got up most mornings to reserve our beds, the hotel do not enforce the no reserve policy, what is really annoying are the amount of inconsiderate ******** who stick a towel on a bed and some days don’t even use it!

Pools: We only used the top infinity pool which was quieter, away from the activities, very few children ventured up to it. All pools were kept very clean.
Very relaxing

Entertainment: pretty good on the whole, alternates every fortnight so if you are only there for a week you won’t see some of the acts mentioned in various reviews (entertainment time table available on end of reception desk).
Charlie Chaplin, Blues Brothers and Chinese Acrobats an absolute must also karaoke on first Tuesday, yes I did get up and entertain the crowd!

Reps: We only dealt with Bill nice guy most accommodating and informative.

Trips: We did the Tiede by night WICKED! 75 euros each worth every cent.
You can get Tiede by night cheaper (50euros each) if booked with agents whilst out and about difference is they leave at 6pm and return by midnight, Thomson trips leaves at 4.20 makes as few pick ups on route and off to first viewing point.
Ambiance of hotel where we dined al fresco AMAZING! Lovely 3 course meal then off again to point where we watched the sun go down this is a must to experience. We had 3 marriage proposals on our trip fortunately all 3 girls accepted. Then treated to some fantastic star gazing both our driver Martin and Jack our guide had lasers to point out the various formations very knowledgeable really really enjoyed this spectacle. Back to luabay 1.00 am ish.

Off site: Bar Unique right in front of hotel, lovely atmosphere and a walk up the hill to the left of the hotel is The Irish bar deserved pint of Guinness for walking up that hill wife tried a randy Leprechaun (cocktail) which she really enjoyed. Leave hotel turn right just past Aerostat News Café karaoke bar good atmosphere and cider on draught

All in all thoroughly enjoyed our fortnight would certainly visit again, would have scored 5 if more storage space and no rude waiters.
As for moans about lack of English tv stations WHO GOES ON HOLIDAY TO WATCH TV “SADDO`S”

We stayed at the Luabay Costa Adeje between 25/9/2012 and 2/10/2012. First impresions when we arrived at 2.00am were very good, we had been delayed at Manchester due to a problem with the aircraft, Thomson s filght, however on arrival at the hotel we were dealt with very well and were offered food and drink from the restaraunt, we did not take up the offer, but considering the time, of arrival the thought was there. In the morning when we went down to breakfast, I began to wonder if we had done the right thing booking the htel. There were no plates initially and when some did arrive there was left over egg on a mumber of plates. However this was the one and only time during the whole week that this was an issue for us. The food in general was good, maybe a little limited on meat dishes at times but everything was well cooked and for us was hot. We did book in for the ale- cart restaraunt for the Spanish and Mexican night, however the Spanish night was utter chaos, not enough staff to cope with all clients, and the food was tapas style which was not to our taste, but having said that I sure that if you liked that type of food, it was very nice. Due to the chaos of the Spanish night we cancelled the Mexican night, though we spoke to other customers who had been and they stated that the food was excelent and a vast improvement of the Spanish night.
The room was not very large but was adequet for our needs, the only beef I have is that the fridge did not work and despite reporting it three times it never got fixed, but that is a small detail. The shower room has a very shallow tray and the water will overflow onto the main bathroom floor, which means you have to dry it with the bath mat supplied, but to be fair the mat was replaced every day. The Hotel and rooms were spotless and could not be faulted. In the main the staff were friendly and I found them to be efficient and polite at the bar.
The location of the hotel is second to none, only about a 100 mtr from the prom and beach, close enough to nightlife, but also far enough from the very late bars. The two bars nearest the hotel had entertainement but seemed to close down the music around middnight.
For excursions I would recomend that you book independantly of the reps as the cost could be as much as half what you may have to pay the reps.
Most of the entertainment was O.K, and profesional entertainers were brought in for the shows which were laid on at 10.oo pm.
Overall I would recomend this hotel to my friends and there appeared to be a fair mix of ages and nationalities, though during my time there I would say that they were mainly Brits, it's a matter of opinion if this is a good point or not!!

I wonder what some people expect of an All Inclusive as this is one of the better one's I have been on. The Reception/sitting area was very clean and tidy and even on arriving by bus check-in was very quick. The room was fine, it was clean and tidy and the beds were some of the best I have slept in. Nothing wrong with the Air-con and had too get up during the night if I forgot to switch it off. Must have got lucky with the shower as it was always hot and the water did stay in the proper area. Food was ok (god knows who eats chips for breakfast though) though later on in the week it repeated itself. No problems with any of the staff, they were very helpful. Be nice if someone would throw the towels in the pool if no-one appears after a couple of hours. As for checking out, we managed to book a time in a courtesy room no problem. Watch out in the resort there are so many people that try to sell the rubbish they are carrying, some don't get the message, but the classic was the woman that tried to get us to eat in a cafe by shoving a menu that close you couldn't even read it and then pointing a finger with the words uugh!!!. The Terrace Bar was ok and the DJ was a good laugh, cover the kids ears though.

Room Tip: A lower floor as the lifts get busy and are very hot with the spotlights in them.

2 couples went, we're in our 50's/60's ,we spent a while looking at various holidays and this was chosen. Thankfully we did, the hotel , is very clean, recently refirbished to a good standard, modern fixtures with light colours and comfortable beds.
We were moved after a late night arrival as we were over the outside airconditionig unit ,this was arranged swiftly and with no bother , if i didn't want to use the balcony , it wouldn't probably have been a problem , but all one side of the hotel would have had this noise , so worth checking when they allocate your room.
The balcony's are in the main quite small , but have a small table and 2 plastic chairs so functional, the hotel had nearly all rooms with side views of the sea, but it is a lovely close view and as there is much activity in the bay interestibg to sit and watch . We were on the 6th floor which was lovely , better than lower down , also kiv some rooms are right over the stage and would be very noisy so avoid the first 2 floors. We considered upgrading so asked tolook at a suite, they had a sepaaret bedroom and lounge with a large balcony and a bath not just a shower, but the settee was basic and although the one we saw was in the front of the hotel i really didn't feel that it justified the extra 42 e per person per night , out room was just as comfortable if less spacious.
A pleasnt surprise was that the rooms had a kettle with cups and teaspoons but no coffee etc , we bought our own teabags - much better for me , so just brought sugar and milk up from the restaurant ( use the better milk in the cereal silver urn rather the the watery warm milk in the machine, we kept it in our room fridge for a few days . Nothing in the hotel bumf said anything about this.

There are lovely relaxing lounges , bars open until 12 at night , when the outside hotel lights were turned off , great , as it meant most then made they're way from the outside areas so there was little noise in the corridors through the night.
Pool etc -sun settees with suncovers which are great if you wanted to read but not be in the direct sun, which i wanted to do , but it allowed my hubby to go to the pool a few feet away , so the best of both worlds. 4 pools, we used the higher infinity pool which was deep enough -about 5 ft , with only a handful of people in at any time. Each night about 6 it was cleaned and the area tidied. The bottom larger pool was where all theh activities and children were,
Food- good varied selection, omeletts, eggs etc cooked as you want them , yes you need to wait a little , but if you are in a hurry there are usually some on the hot plate. Plentlyful salad selection, fresh pasta with what ever sause you wanted , stirfrys , grilled fish, meat , something for even the fussyest of guest , plus fresh fruit , yogurts and section of desserts , all the waiters were effecient, polite and excellent , especially our Miguel, we prefered to sit on the balcony at night and watch the sunset as we ate ,he even anticipated what were drinking , remembering what we liked from the night before and offering the wine and water as we sat down, that is what you call service. We booked and went to both the Spanish and Mexican Al a carte section of the restaurant, Carlos and his colleague were attentative and explained each course , both were really enjoyable evenings , good food, excellent service and the feeling of being thoroughally spoilt - fabulous.
All the staff we dealt with including Javi and Gina were super efficent and helpful, the cleaning staff were great and nothing was too much trouble( i asked from a bed spread - it arrived within the hour )
Entertainment -excellent, the proffesional entertainers especially the Blues Brothersand the Mowtown group has us all dacing and singing, we all really also enjoyed the lighthearted quizzs, parrot show and the Wildbirds , it was a shame that our only night out meant we missed most of the Charlie Chaplin act which was also very good.
Our only complain was that we were charged deposits for everything and 13e per day to park our hire car, which we felt was steep .

We would all recommend the hotel, it was a really relaxing week holiday, with attentive staff, comfortable surroundings, good food and entertainment in an easy accessable area, 3 mins from a lovely beach , plently of bars and shops around but with no noisy discos etc - we are definately coming back and definately all inclusive - we can't wait !

Room Tip: 629 was good, choose the side looking at the Iberastar not over the airconditioning unit

We spent two weeks here and couldn't have hoped for better. Excellent weather and a beautiful hotel. The staff were all exceptionally helpful and polite and the food was amazing. Huge selection for all meals and good selection of snacks and drinks all day. The a la carte restaurant which we visited twice for tapas was the best tapas I've ever had!!

We also used the hotel spa on 3 occasions and were impressed by the reasonable prices and the standard of the facilities- 10 out of 10.

Our room was a decent size and cleaned daily. The thomson reps were fab, and we really didn't want to leave!

Room Tip: All rooms have a balcony, we had a sea view which I would recommend- truly beautiful.
