We have just returned from the Luabay with frends , the Hotel was spotless rooms cleaned everyday beds made we was on level 3 would try and be level 4 or above for a better view, food was exellent plenty of choice at every meal time plenty of fruit salad and hot food never short of choice.
My only real complaint was sun bed wars every day not a problem forme as I am an early riser so we had beds every day but always had people circling like vultures foryour space so be by the pool at 7 and you will always get a bed its woth it just for the sun rise just a little investment in a few new sun beds would sort this problem.
Night time entertainment a little outdated but still entertaining.
All in all i would definatly return and would choose luabay brand again

Room Tip: ask for a room on level 4 or above or you will be looking at the tennis court

Stayed from 8 - 18 March 2014 on an all inclusive basis.

Upon arrival, check-in was very quick. We asked for a high floor room and were given one on the 8th floor. Room was spacious, plenty of storage space. Bathroom was lovely with a walk in shower and toiletries provided. We actually were provided with a kettle although I don't think this is the norm, so don't know whether our room was an upgrade from the standard. Fantastic views of the mountains, Costa Adeje, and the sea :). We didn't get the sun until about 4pm, so if you like the sun in the mornings ask for a room overlooking the car park.

Hotel provided additional sunbeds during our stay, and there were still beds available around the main pool at 11am. There are 3 pool areas - the main heart shaped one which is the only heated pool on the lower level; the second level has a small waterfall pool and the snack bar is here; and the infinity pool on the 3rd level (you could hear a pin drop up here). I have to say though that the sunbeds have to be up there with the most uncomfortable I've ever come across!

Entertainment team were friendly but not pushy and they provided the usual table tennis, boules, water polo etc, but they also did face packs and hand treatments for the ladies. There were also regular fashion shows around the pool but I found that almost all of the clothes shown were to be found at a fraction of the price in the local shops. I found a beach dress which they wanted 25 euros for at only 9.99 in Las Americas.

At this time of year the sun doesn't come around to the pool areas until about 09:30 and it's a bit chilly to sit on sunbeds before then, so we used to take the opportunity to have a walk along the extensive promenade. The hotel is ideally located. If you go left from the hotel you can walk all the way to Las Americas and beyond, and to the right takes you all the way through Costa Adeje along the beach. Whichever way you choose, you'll be rewarded with stunning views. Beaches are beautiful and are golden, not black sand.

Food was excellent. I really cannot see how anyone can complain about the food at all. Breakfast was lovely with well cooked bacon, sausages, boiled eggs, fried eggs, omelettes cooked to order, scrambled eggs etc, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, potatoes etc...also cereals, cheeses, breads, fruits, freshly squeezed juices (watered down) and smoothies. The toaster was the most efficient and quickest I've seen in a hotel. Lunch and dinner also had so many choices; chicken, beef, pork, fresh vegetables, show dishes etc. And the usual breads and desserts. I'm a fussy eater and I found the food really, really good.

Can't comment much on the entertainment as we never stayed in to watch it as we didn't like the beer! Although it did seem that in order to see the stage, you needed to get there quite early. The bar area doesn't have enough seating, and many people were standing around trying to watch the acts. Many of the seats provided also have restricted or no view of the stage.

On our first night, we found Unique Bar, directly opposite the hotel. Fantastic little bar with great staff (thank you Rose!) with a live act every night singing soul and motown music. Large beer only 2.50 euros so very reasonable. We did have a walk around and there are an abundance of bars within walking distance and some had cheaper prices, but personally we were happy with this bar.

Have seen lots of complaints about the lifts on here. We didn't have a problem with them and being on the 8th floor we used them many, many times! Obviously it's a bit of a pain if they stop at every floor and there's nobody waiting to get in, but I can't see how the hotel could improve them to be honest.

Hotel is suitable for people with mobility problems as lots of ramps and 3 lifts. Cost Adeje is a bit hilly, however people with pushchairs and wheelchairs were on the beach so there must be ramps to get down there.

All staff were lovely. Always friendly and helpful. Spotlessly clean everywhere.

Would definitely return to Cost Adeje and would definitely return to this hotel.

Pros: as listed above, highly recommended.
Cons: uncomfortable sunbeds, not enough seats in bar area, no English TV channels apart from news. (in case hotel management read these reviews!)

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking car park (even numbers) are sunnier in the morning, but probably noisier. Odd numb...

Having visited this hotel again in March the hotel was still as nice as the last time. You get the usual niggles such as towels on the sun beds of which there were not enough when we arrived but the was sumwhat redressed as they had a delivery of new better grade sunbeds I would think about 100. We managed to get one most days but the older ones were to low for myself. The staff were all as friendly as on our previous visits, you only reap what you sow.I sent an email to the hotel asking if we could have a room on the second floor and we got a room next to the one we had last year. The room overlooked the car park and got the sun all morning and was reasonably quiet. The lifts are not the quickest we have been in but do the job as I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for one. It was also our wedding anniversary and we received a complimentary bottle of wine. The food was as good as on previous visits with plenty of selection. How anyone can say the food was poor amazes me. The room was kept very clean and tidy with clean towels every day. The room still lacked drawer space but there is plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe. We had a small problem with the shaving mirror but this was fixed immediately. Apparently there has been reports of pickpockets in the hotel but we never had any problems with this, but could see how this could happen as anyone could come and go as they pleased. The animation team tried their best whilst we were there but didn't get many takers. Overall we would rate this hotel as a good 3star not a platinum as listed in the holiday brochures. We will visit again as it suits our needs. The hotel is handy for several bars close to hand, a very good one is Amandas where they have a different artist every night, not to be missed Showadiwaddy and is hosted by Shawn King as Elvis. The staff are all very friendly especially Simone & Frank. The Blue Cactus on the seafront also have good entertainment at night and the beer is cheap. The entertainment in the hotel was middle of the road although Jonny Circus is not to be missed.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor are very handy as you are only one floor down to the restaurant and one fu...

Just returned from the Luabay hotel (9th March ) had a great time. Hotel in good position, Food
amenities, very good and all staff very friendly and helpful. Pool area nice and very clean but
could do with a few more sun loungers which may help to stop people reserving beds at 6.00 am
and not returning to them till after lunch.

We were so happy with the holiday we have booked again for next year.

We visited this hotel in April last year and have just come back from another visit this week. The hotel is very modern and spotless. For all inclusive the food is good too. We had a lovely roast on Sunday and Tuesday. The a la carte Mexican was also very good. There is always food being freshly cooked if you don't like to eat pre-prepared food. The only faults are the number of sunbeds reserved with towels and not taken up until the afternoon. There are notices telling people not to do this but nothing is done about it. The other faults are the showers which are very badly designed and the lack of drawer space in the rooms. The choice of food at the outside snack bar has improved greatly since last year. The drinks choice at the bars is very good and soft/hot drinks are always available. The evening entertainment was quite good compared to some we've seen but there is not enough seating for everyone to watch. All in all a good hotel.

Room Tip: We have had rooms overlooking the car park. Should think when the entertainment is outside in the s...

We found the hotel was not up to standard of other luabay hotels we have stayed at the food was average at best. A hotel advertised as platinum should not be charging for wifi or coffee and tea making facilities in the room. The entertainment on an evening was a joke parrots squaking on the stage and pulling a bigger and bigger snake out of a box is not entertainment. The bar prices are a disgrace. A big minus is the lack of secirity one mugging in the lift when we were there. On the plus side the staff were excellent , cleanliness also was of a high standard. Will not be going back.

Room Tip: We found the high floors where quiet

We have just come back home after a 7 day stay at the Luabay. A 50th Birthday treat from my SOH. We had a great time on the whole. The staff were brilliant and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The Hotel was kept spotlessly clean for the whole of our stay. I have to disagree with some of the comments with regards to the food. I though the choice was excellent and the quality pretty good for the price paid. My wife who is gluten intolerant had not trouble in finding something to eat, which was a massive bonus for us and if she had any question regarding a particular dish the staff were very helpful. There was a different paella on every evening (def not German), various fish done in typical Canary style and different meats grilled to order every night. For breakfast they had everything covered, cereals, yoghurt, bread for toast and the traditional English breakfast for those that can't bear to bear to be without anything reminding them of Blighty when in Tenerife.
The one downside is the sun loungers. For a Hotel that clearly states it has a no reservation of sunbed policy, this was continuously flouted by the Hotel residents and was not enforced by the staff. The only way to get a sunbed without falling out with your fellow guest and binning their towel of the bed, was to do as the Jones's did. Yes you guessed it, get up early and do the same.
But that niggle aside, which lets be honest is a big niggle, in all other areas the Hotel excelled. Will definitely be going back next year.
