Traveled with my wife and 10years old grandson. Room small but good views and spotless. The hotel was clean throughout and the staff were without fail helpful and courteous. The food was good with plenty of choice . The pool area had plenty of seating and enjoyed an excellent view as did the dining room. I had read some reviews prior to traveling and had some apprehension but these dissipated from the moment of my arrival at reception. The animation team could be improved but overall we all had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Holiday stay in April 2014 .

Room Tip: only saw the room we stayed in

After reading some reviews of this hotel I was very apprehensive about my visit to the Luabay in Costa Adeje. Reviews complained about everything from the hotel staff and linens to the food and sunbeds, but they could not have been more wrong!
The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and quite impressive with marble style floors and steps in the public areas. At first the floors made me tread carefully as it was a little hard to see the edge of the steps etc but I soon got used to them. The reception area is bright and airy with an open design giving loads of space, the reception area leads into the bar and the theatre areas. Glass doors leading out to the three levels of sun terrace and pool areas. There were plenty of sun beds, despite signs asking guests not to reserve beds many people did so quite unnecessarily thus causing people to occasionally need a little bit of a help to locate a few beds together with a parasol. However on our last night the whole supply of sunbeds were changed as part of the re-branding of the hotel to the new owners and a large supply was brought in.
The room that we were allocated was the centre room at the front of the hotel so was considerably larger than the normal room. The bathroom was spacious with plenty of hot water and fresh towels daily, on one or two occasions the towels were a little frayed but still spotlessly clean.
The restaurant is located on the first floor with a terrace outside overlooking the lower and first pool areas. A buffet style service provides a large selection of good quality food, the variety of food supplied should allow anyone to eat well, even the most conservative of eaters and the adventurous alike. At first the crockery was a little tired but again as part of the re-branding the crockery was all replaced with new.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They appeared to cover more than one area, after working in the restaurant many went on the work in the bar. Sonia, Marcus, Fernando and Ebay to name just a few who contributed to our enjoyment of the stay at the hotel. The a la carte restaurant, located at the rear of the main restaurant provided an alternative to the buffet style serving Mexican and Spanish menus available twice per week as part of the all inclusive option.
The entertainment provided was varied with daily activities provided by Francisco and his sister. Both were really friendly and gave us all a bit of fun during the day with activities for the less active with guess the weight competitions and activities like shuffleboard to water polo and shooting for the more active.
As people who like to try and learn a bit more Spanish whenever we stay in a Spanish speaking country we were encouraged and helped to understand the words used which differ in the Canaries to those used in mainland Spain - especially the word for drinking straw where the word used in mainland Spain has a very different meaning in the Canaries!!!

In all, a fantastic hotel with an excellent staff who provide friendly customer service with a smile.

Room Tip: The centre room at the front of the hotel is larger then those on the sides and give a sea view.

This is a great little hotel. We'd stayed here in April 2013 and our return in April 2014 was just as good. Just the two of us went. The sunbathing is on 3 terraces with the top one being pretty much adults only (although not designated as such) and lovely and quiet. The room we had was huge and had a lovely sea view. Although it was at the front of the hotel the noise from the bars etc. stopped about 11.30 and all was quiet after that - no problem sleeping. The best feature of the hotel is definitely the restaurant. It is the best organised and most efficient we've been to. You are taken to a table on arrival and served with drinks instantly. The staff including the managers are so friendly and are constantly rushing round clearing tables and generally making sure everything is ok. The quality and choice of food is also excellent. The entertainment is decidedly average but there is a cracking soul singer most nights in Bar Unique across the road and St Eugen's bar further up the road on the left is always good.

This was recently refurbished to a high standard of the Thomson Platinum range. The whole package was excellent value and the staff in the hotel especially Alfrano were most helpful. Good facilities for couples and families and a brilliant location for the beach with great walks to the east and west along the promenade. Food and drink all good and the speciality dinners not to be missed.
Overall an excellent holiday venue.

Room Tip: High room overlooking pool.

From start to finish the holiday was amazing. The hotel and facilities are brilliant. We went all inclusive and it was well worth it food was amazing, something different every night, the chefs and dining room staff couldn't do enough for you, if you wanted anything specific they went out of their way to provide it. The hotel was spotless, never seen so many staff cleaning 24/7. Entertainment every night was good, if you didn't want there was no need to leave the hotel. I had read on trip advisor that there was a problem with not enough sunbeds, this was not the case whilst we were there. We were a party of 4 adults and we have all said we will return next year.
Well done to all the staff at Luabay you gave us a fabulous holiday, Thankyou x

Room Tip: Ask for sea view it's breathtaking.

Stayed at Luabay Costa Adeje in April 2014, as a family of 8 (6 adults, 2 children) and we had 3 rooms between us on the 4th floor.

Positives
- Hotel is in a great location, close to plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, beach, pick up point for local buses and excursions.
- Although the outside space is not large, we did not have a problem finding sun loungers or parasols even late mornings or afternoons - tip: ask the life guard who is friendly and will assist you.
- Restaurants and great with plenty of variety for even fussy eaters at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bars has local spirits which were OK, and plenty of tea, coffee, soft drinks, water available at all times. The snacks were fine during the day. We dined in the a la carte restaurant twice and experienced both Spanish and Mexican themes evenings, and both were enjoyable and the food lovely.
- Staff were always helpful and friendly, including the room maids, waiters and front desk staff.
- Lots of daily activities for adults and children. They have to cater for all tastes so some were not to our taste, but there was always lots of adults and children taking part.
- The cleanliness within the hotel, both communal, pool, restaurant and rooms was top notch

Disappointments
- Hotel is not a 4-star, as advertised especially the rooms (see below).
- Rooms which slept 3 had a camp bed added for the children which made the rooms a tight squeeze. The main beds were hard. The shower does leak, but a well placed towel on the floor, directing the shower into the corner of the cubicle and not putting it on full force kept leaks to a minimum. The fridges in the rooms aren't good and I wouldn't trust them at all. There are very limited drawer space but we were there for one week so not really a problem, but could be if there for a fortnight. TVs only has English Sky and BBC news channels.
- Noise for rooms above and next door can be a problem, as too from the corridor.
- No wifi in rooms and payable in the lobby; tip: go to bar opposite, cheap beer and free wifi!

In summary, our stay at the Luabay Costa Adeje was fine and totally acceptable, but slightly let down by the standards and facilities within the rooms.

We recently returned from a 2 week family holiday at the Luabay. Was a little nervous having read some of the reviews on here before we left but we were very happy with our accommodation. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels left and bed linen changed 3 times weekly. The housekeeping staff all work extremely hard (we were not left enough towels one day and by the time my husband came back from reception the housekeeping staff had delivered the towels - efficient service!) The rest of the staff were also very friendly and worked very hard. The food quality was good and plenty of variety each night. There was entertainment day and night and the team organising this were great! Initially on arrival there were few activities for kids but a couple of days into the holiday the animation team realised that there were lots of kids (as it was Easter Holidays) and they added more kids activities. The hotels location is great with plenty places to walk and explore. We were in a room overlooking the pools and had no problems due to traffic noise as complained of by other guests. Overall, we had a very enjoyable holiday and have no complaints about the hotel.

Room Tip: Would close a higher floor overlooking the pool as I would guess they have a better view.
