“Very good hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 November 2011

Just arrived home after a week here and it was great. We had a one bedroom apartment with pool view and went all inclusive. Rooms were really big and well equiped, food plentiful and varied menus. All staff were friendly, helpful and professional.

No air con in the rooms just an overhead fan which was very noisy so couldn't leave it on at night

Walk down to the sea was down a very steep hill so coming back up would be difficult for some people
Taxi rank right outside the hotel but we got charged from 3 euros - 7 euros for the same journey down to the main street in costa adeje where the entertainment bars are

Entertainment usual parrot show, reptile show and one night a very good, versatile singer
Not much in the area for evening entertainment either

I really dont understand what all the fuss is about. We( 2adults and 2 children) found our 1 bed apt immaculate. This hotel was perfect for a base to stay whilst we had lots of trips which broke up our stay (siam, lorus, mt Teide etc). We stayed for 9 days and hired a car which we collected from the airport. The hotel was situated close to the best beaches, yet not too near to the nightlife. We booked bed and breakfast which was ideal for our situation. We managed to 'fill-up' at breakfast and ate out during the day.

Just arrive back from a week in lovely teneriffe. But never again this hotel!! The food was quite good. = OK. The kids loved it. We was 3 familys that traveled together. All of our rooms was so dirty when we arrived that I was forced to clean the floor 3 times before we didn't have black feets!! The kids feet was so dirty that when I clean then in the tub, the water was black. (only from the feets). We made a complain but nothing happend. So if you want to have a clean room. Do go here!! Go to Oasis och Parque Cristobal instead. The pool was nice and the bar was superb that is why it got 3 *** instead of 1*.

this hotel is in an ideal position. it was clean and well maintained. the food was awful and the female restaurant staff were not very friendly. i would stay there again on a self catering basis. if you like a firm bed, this is the hotel for you.

Room Tip: request a pool view, some balconies look into a shopping plaza.

This hotel was sold to us as 4star with matching price. In the hotel we realized it was a 3star. The room was appartment with bedroom and livingroom with kitchen. Kids sleeping in livingroom on non-foldable couch, only sheet put on it and one more sheet for cover. Very rude guy on reception, called Michael! Others were nice. Small balcony, no air conditioning in our appartment. Restaurant - lack of waiters, waiters with attitude, not very clean plates and forks, food being cleaned from plates in the middle of the eating area with a lot of noise, food quality average... Swimming pool with water too cold. Pretty far from the beach because you cannot go straight down through parking lot. Especially going back up the hill was exhausting. Would not go there again.

Just back from a one-week holiday at El Duque. The weather was great, which of course put us in a good mood... Patricia at the reception was very friendly and helpful. We had a room on the first floor and with a pool view (building H). The room was spacious and clean -- no complaints about the housekeeping!

The pool was large enough and it wasn't crowded at all, which allowed proper laps of swimming. The pool was heated and the water seemed clean enough. Unfortunately most of the sunbeds were in the shade of the buildings or the palm trees for at least a part of the day, and really only the ones at the restaurant end of the pool had sunshine all day long. If you wanted to grab one of those you had to reserve it before the sunrise :-(.

The food in the restaurant was fine, we liked especially the breakfast. The only problem with the restaurant was that they ran out of plates and cutlery (especially spoons) during the dinner service. The service at the pool bar was ok, but it was a bit annoying that even water wasn't available at a self-service machine and often the queues got fairly long. (we had an all-inclusive meal plan, which most other guests seemed to have as well)

Really the only thing we didn't like was the noice from the evening entertainment. As our building was by the pool, we had to listen to the shows even though we didn't want to... Well at least they finished early enough.

Even though the hotel is located about 700 metres (uphill) from the beach, I enjoyed my 7 a.m. morning runs in both directions along the coast. Go in the direction of La Caleta (right), it is all brand-new 5 star hotels and very clean & posh. If you go left in the direction of Las Americas, you will see "typical, shabby tourism establishments of the Canaries". Two very different worlds, I would say!
