Reviewed 4 June 2014

Positive:
- food is very good quality and a lot of choice, available even if you're a little late for breakfast
- cleaning ladies do a very good job
- great views from the room
- nice pools and pool area
- children friendly
- transfer to Playa de las Américas
Negative:
- we booked a junior suite which didn't feel like an upgrade (apart from bigger size room) as all services are charged extra as privilege package
- no internet connection in the room or on balcony (tried multiple devices)
- bathroom old dated, not always hot water
- only one electric plug in the room that actually worked
- weird light arrangement where you can't have only your night lamp on without having to have the main panel light on
- some of the stuff were not very nice
- on couple of occasions milk with the coffee in the morning was basically water with a dash of milk to make it white
- quite loud music outside from two sources (can be a positive for guests wanting to join in)

My husband and I decided very last minute to have a week's holiday on Tenerife. Rather than spend hours searching the internet ourselves we visited our local (and very friendly) travel agents for them to just find something quickly for us. Our only stipulations were: a four star hotel, room with a balcony or terrace and in a quiet area. Our agent suggested the Costa Adeje region, and the Adeje Palace Hotel came up as having availability. We were able to fly from a fairly local airport and from the start of our journey everything was perfect. The hotel is set at the very end of the Costa Adeje coast, nearly into Caletta, but for us it was ideal. The moment we walked into the large foyer we felt there was a serenity about the place. It is a large hotel and although not full, was very busy. Yet we never felt it was too noisy or too busy. It was beautifully maintained and very clean, staff were all very helpful and polite, and even the food was excellent. The restaurant was self-service (and ideally we prefer to be waited on), but the selection of foods on offer was very good, well presented and hot.

We had a top floor room which was a very good size, spacious and clean, as also was the bathroom. Good storage space and plenty of hangers for our clothing. There are not tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, but you can pay to have them (which we did). That seemed quite expensive but it was nice to have the supplies in our room. They even supplied bottles of water along with the teabags, coffee and herbal teas, milk and sugar.. We could have always got a tea or coffee at one of the bars, a cup of tea was 2 euros, so I suppose we were better off having our own in our room.

There are two large swimming pools and a children's pool also a Jacuzzi. There were also large gardens which were beautifully maintained. Whatever time of day we chose to go to the pool we never struggled to get sunbeds. Beach towels are provided. There seem to be various activities going on throughout the days (arranged by the Fram leisure staff), but we didn't partake! In fact we had a nice relaxing week doing nothing much at all. We were very happy in our surroundings. We did walk into Playa de las Americas one day as we are keen walkers, but the hotel do run a courtesy bus for those who prefer. We also walked to La Caletta one day, seems that is the place to go for good fish restaurants.

We didn't use the spa facilities, so am unable to comment on that. Considering we didn't do any homework or spend any real time looking for a suitable hotel, we couldn't complain about anything with our holiday and would be very happy to return.

Location great!.... Not on the main strip. Further round to the west do much quieter. Lovely beaches accessible within 5 min walk. Child friendly but not many kids about. Food excellent. Good variety! Expect to put weight on! Rooms - large, comfortable, modern. Great sea views! Only negative I have is no tea and coffee in the rooms.

Recently had a four day stay at this hotel with my wife!

Had to shift rooms after the first night due to a very noisy Italian family shouting all the time!

Rooms very spacious and clean, bathroom was very dated and tired looking with shower head broken and the water was either boiling hot or freezing cold!

Lots of hidden costs........hire of safe in room, tennis courts etc....

Wifi could only be picked up in certain parts of main reception......when in this day and age you would expect this in all rooms considering type of hotel it is!!

Some staff were helpful and friendly but the majority of them could do with brushing up on their customer service skills.

Thought the food was well below par, lack of choice, not very hot.......in a school canteen type setting!!

Was told there was a dress code for evening meal yet we were surrounded by people in swimming shorts with some football tops.

Staff in the dining area were just going about in a mad panick all the time and seemed to lack direction in what they were doing and we're not helpful when asked for things.

When working in the tourism industry you would expect all staff that deal with the general public/guests to have at least a couple of languages........in this hotels case there was a lot of waiting staff who couldn't understand what we wanted!!

When asking for the bill there was stuff on our bill that we didn't have and they couldn't produce receipts for these amounts either!!!!

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Has the potential to be a really nice hotel, need to improve in staffing/food area's dramatically though!

Thank heavens for Tripadvisor! If we hadn't read reviews recommending booking Privilege package for this hotel, we wouldn't have had the first class experience that this offered. I'm pretty sure we would have had a good holiday - the hotel is in a great location and rooms and public areas are absolutely ideal - but opting for Privilege took it up quite a few notches. Reasons as follows:

1. The Privilege lounge is a pleasant, cool area to sit and relax in the hotel. Free wifi and two PCs available if you haven't brought your own device. You can help yourself from a well-stocked bar and, like the Privilege bedrooms, it has a Nespresso machine and good range of pods.

2. The 'chill-out' area outside is extremely pleasant - comfortable beds/loungers and the excellent Margueritte popping round with fruit drinks, bits of cake, fresh fruit etc.

3. Dining at La Tosca is exclusively for Privilege customers. The staff here are also excellent and dining is a much more relaxed experience. Although we had breakfast here one day (the efficient and friendly Beatriz had booked us up for breakfast and dinner for the whole week), we actually preferred the public dining area ("El Jable") for breakfast - brilliant freshly made smoothies, loads of fruit, decent range of regular breakfast foods. We appreciate, though, that this won't be to everybody's taste and there is no question that the quality of foods is higher in La Tosca. However, the privilege deal also gives you a Nespresso card so that you can have a really great coffee with your cafeteria style breakfast. Dining at La Tosca in the evening is a different ballgame, though. We don't mind hustle and bustle in the morning, but having dinner in a cool, quiet, relaxed area is brilliant. That said, the menu stays the same every day and this does get a bit boring. They do have 'Fish of the day' so not sure why they can't extend this to include 'Meat dish of the day' 'Pasta of the day' or whatever. Somebody mentioned very tough veal and that was certainly absolutely true of the veal my husband ordered - not veal at all but steak. These niggles apart, it is still a great place to spend an evening

4. Free newspaper every day - not a big deal but still a nice touch.

5. Nicer bedrooms with good view, very quiet, well stocked with all the usual suspects - loads of toiletries, bathrobe, chocolate on the bed at night, water and aforementioned Nespresso machine (and even bottled water to put in the machine). You've also got safe, fridge, iphone docking station/clock radio, beach towels changed free of charge every day, free ironing service etc.

We had stayed in an H10 hotel before in Lanzarote and although we were conscious of the Privilege lounge there, we hadn't had any sense of the advantages. Here, though, it really does lift the whole experience from staying in a pleasant and very satisfactory hotel to being totally pampered and indulged. If too many people were to opt for the Privilege deal, obviously the advantages would diminish if the reserved lounge and outside areas were too congested. Would they have to take out a new "super" scheme eg Overprivilege card? Not a problem just now, though - we were often the only people in the lounge and beds and loungers galore outside.

We stayed here on a half board basis and going 'Privilege' was a much more sensible strategy for us than going all inclusive. We could help ourselves to G&T before dinner and something after dinner - plus as many drinks as we might want during the day. Our bill, therefore, was really only for wine with dinner and that was very reasonable.

So, apart from very very small niggles about lack of variety in dinner menu and one poor experience of tough veal, the holiday really was first class and we returned feeling relaxed and pampered, Many thanks to all at H10 Costa Adeje Palace :)

Room Tip: We were in 557 - spacious, well-equipped and absolutely quiet

Just got back from a weeks half board at this hotel. The hotel iteself is really quite lovely and definately 4* standard, rooms are big, airy and comfortable and cleaned promptly to a high standard everyday. we had no problem getting a sunbed each day as there were plenty and the pools are good too - 4 to chose from with a bar in the middle which is great! I used the gym on one of our cloudly days which is fairly sparcely equipped but I get its not used to a great capacity as most poeple are enjoying their holiday!
There is a really nice coastal pathway at the back of the hotel and you can walk all the way to Los Chirstinos if you like (this would proabably take a few hours), but the pathway takes you past loads of lovely beaches and lots of bars and resturants.
The food at the hotel is varied and of a high standard, I'm still trying to get my head around champagne and vodka at breakfast time - but each to their own I suppose! The chocolate fountain with various fruits and sweets was a great touch at dinner.
There is also a daily shuttle bus which is free from the hotel that drops you into Los Christinaos.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher level room to get a decent veiw over the pools and the sea!

A Palace this Hotel is not, although it has a lot going for it as in Pool area, plenty of Loungers, well kept gardens and pleasent staff it is the Catering that lets it down. We booked the Privilege package, room was spotless and had an excellent view of the sea from the side-view room which we had upgraded to. The main eating area is more like a Canteen than a Restaurant with its outdated seating area and poor luke warm food which has very little change in choice throughout the week we stayed. As a Privilege guest we were able to dine in the Al La Cart Restaurant which again had no change to the menu during the week, I sent two meals back during our time there one because the Ceaser Salad had no Chicken in it and the second time the Veal was as tough as shoe leather i just could not eat it. As a Privilege guest you have the benefit of the Lounge helping yourself to Tea/Coffee and some Alcoholic drinks and also a seperate area with superior sun beds and waitress service, indoor pool and spa. On the whole a very good hotel but to be an excellent reccomended one then the Catering really needs to be improved.

Room Tip: If you can afford the extra then upgrade to Privilege side sea view room.
