“great holiday!”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

Could not fault this holiday it was just what we expecting. We relaxed round the pool and joined in with some activities as well. I would highly recommend the aqua gym in the afternoon.... Such a laugh! The food was great with lots to choose from even the most fussy eater could find something to suit them. We spoke to people that have returned here several times and I can see why!

Room Tip: We were in room194 perfect location.

Just returned from 10 nights AI. Booked on the proviso of being a 4*, but was a 3* at best

On first impressions I thought it was a fantastic hotel with good facilities and really pleasant staff. The warm welcome from the receptionist upon arrival was a nice touch, however as time went on I realised it wasn't as great as we'd hoped. The maids cleaned our room every day except one, with clean towels. The hotel is away from the town centre which was ideal for us, and only a 15/20 minute walk to the beach. The animation team were great with the kids, with the usual miniclubs during the day & disco at night, however the entertainment shows were very dated. The 2 water parks are situated very close which is another positive, and there is a free open-top bus to Siam which picks up/drops off at a stop only 5/10 mins walk down the road. The hotel also has a free bus most days to Playa De La Americas, which was brilliant to go to and then walk back to Adeje along the seafront

Unfortunately there were more negatives than I would have liked, as follows:

1. Frustratingly long queues for the bar every night. More staff required
2. On busy days you had no chance of a sunbed, which caused a lot of tension for some families while we were there. We were ok as I did the british thing and waited for the sunbeds to be unchained so I made sure I got some, but I really didn't enjoy having to do that every single day
3. For the first 7 days the food choices for lunch & dinner were identical every night, which made it far too repetitive for us. We actually went for a chinese on the 7th night just for a change of taste, costing us the best part of 50 Euros. The food choice only seemed to improve when all the Spanish holidaymakers descended for their Bank holiday. Whether this was coincidence or not I guess i'll never know...
4. The hotel website promised there would be "themed" nights for dinner. Obviously not
5. Our room was clean but was an old room, and by the 2nd day there was a putrid smell coming from the bathroom drains, which lasted every day of our stay. I didn't bother complaining as we had unpacked everything and simply could not be bothered to move rooms. We just had to make sure we remembered to plug the sinks/bath etc to minimise the sewer odour
6. The whole block of rooms opposite our room were undergoing refurbishment so grinding/sawing was heard every day, but in fairness you didn't really notice it

I'm sure the hotel will return to past glories once all the modernisation work has been completed and they have got their act together with food/sunbeds etc, but for me it is safe to say we would not return. Upon checking out the receptionist asked if everything had been ok, and soon as I started listing the above points she cut me short, smiled and just said "thats a shame, okay then bye"! I'm sure if I was a more awkward person I could have demanded some of my money back so to not even receive a quick apology for the inconvenience of not getting what we paid for helped me to easily make up my mind to not go back to Tagoro hotel

Room Tip: Visit Siam Water Park!

The Villa Tagoro is not quite a 4* hotel but it is getting there, many of the rooms have been upgraded, the air conditioning is good, there is plenty of room in the spacious apartments and there is a microwave and tea/coffee making facilities available, it's also useful not having to pack a hairdryer as the ones in the bathroom are superb.
Many of the staff are helpful and pleasant, particularly the bar staff and reception, there were some problems with the food in the restaurant but I understand these have all now been sorted. There is still some renovation work going on but the builders try to keep disruption to a minimum and you hardly notice it.
The Animation Team do an excellent job and try to get everyone involved, they are always happy and smiling, all the kids enjoy the face painting, Ciccio asks for feedback and tries very hard to put on an entertaining show and activities throughout the day.
I'm sure we will be returning again.

Ten of us stayed here for a week, youngest 14 oldest 76, so a wide variation. Staff always friendly and helpful, building work going on but in a year round resort has to be done sometime. I stayed in an upgraded appartment lovely balcony and jacuzzi, room very spacious and clean. Food was ok apart from the day we were leaving and i must say it was the best meal i ate there all week, we didnt stay in hotel often as we did trips and wanted to see the town but was a nice base. The hill isnt overly massive but in the heat you dont always feel like climbing back up, but not to worry only 3euros 50 gets you back in a taxi. The children got more than their monies worth joining in all activities n endless drinks and snacks. Definatly a family hotel, with plenty to take kids off your hands, the pool was lovely and clean, mini golf, tennis courts, football pitch, only downside no darts for dart board, my mum loves to play and we couldnt even find anywhere that sold them. All in all good holiday thank you

Room Tip: Upgrade, we read all rooms would be upgraded by the time we went but they wasnt, u can do it on arri...

Had such a good time here last June that we are going back this year. Only downside was limited amount of sun beds so had to queue for them each morning. Food was good. Entertainment and kids facilities great

Dear Gwen M,
From the entire team of Dream Villa Tagoro 4* we would like to thank you for your great comment on Tripadvisor.
We would like to apologize for the inconveniences with the sun beds, we only open them at 9am so our guests with rooms close to the pool have the chance to relax in them. We appreciate your comment about the quality of our food and how our animation team works hard to entertain our guests, so they can have some fun during their stay. We are so happy to hear that you are going to repeat your holidays with us, we will be really grateful to welcome you again.
Best regards,

Stayed here for 10 days . It's an all inclusive and we had never been a/l so unable to compare . Was greeted at reception by Steffan and zofia who were lovely and checked us in to room 118 (was told that we coukd upgrade for 140 euro to a refurbished room ). We decided to not upgrade but Steffan said if we didn't like the room he coukd find us another. Room 118 was standard and a big balcony but unfortunately had 30 foot steel railing on the balcony wall for the tennis/football court ( was like being in a prison), we decided to ask for another room which was no problem and then was given room 140 . Room were basic with air con , safe (45 euro for week but 20 euro back as deposit ).

Pool area - apart from one day there were ample sunbeds but still we did the British thing and waited in our spot until they unchained them at 9am. Pool bar serves chips, rolls, hit dogs etc and self serve cold drinks . Slush puppies and alcohol a/l that you had to ask for . Ample seating around pool area and on 3 occasions shots of alcohol were handed around the pool area .

Dining - breakfast From pancakes/continental to full English self serve . Lunch self serve and dinner self serve . It was my birthday while I was there and at dinner I was given a bottle of champers/wine at dinner and the table all laid out ( nice touch). Also when we returned to apartments later that night another bottle and card was waiting inside.

There was renovating going on at the time in the complex and it was a little of putting sometimes with the drilling etc .

Animation team are great and Chicco has so much energy it's unreal ! Staff all appeared happy and wanted to please you .

Overall a great holiday but location was slightly out of the way but we walked almost every night down the front and back ( about 15 mins but busy roundabout) .

We checked out at 12 and wrist bands were cut off but we were given a meal pass and was able to still use facilities and drinks etc .

Almost forgot to mention free wifi from 1st may 500mb to use around pool and apartments .

Dear Thecliogirl,
We would like to thank you for sharing your great experience in our Dream Villa Tagoro 4* with us on Tripadvisor.
We are sorry that you didn’t like your first room, but we are glad to know that you really liked the second room that our reception staff offered to you. The sun beds are locked up over the night so our guests with rooms close to the pool can also enjoy their holiday and are not awoken by others outside of their room. We are glad to know that you enjoyed the different drinks and snacks that we offer in our pool area bar. Like you said there is plenty of choice for our guests in our restaurant and the different theme nights are perfect to try new meals. We are sorry about any noise during your stay, we were changing the furniture in some rooms but we always try that this will not affect to our guests. We offer many different activities during the day so your kids and also the parents can spend a fun and great holiday in our hotel. We are sorry that you didn’t like the location so much, but there is a free shuttle bus on some days so our guests do not have to walk the way to the marketplace. We hope you will be back for another amazing holiday in our hotel soon. For repeating guests, there is a special 5% discount, if they book their next stay directly with us.
Best regards,
Miriam Pla
