We stayed here june/july and the whole holiday was excellent as expected from start to finish! Weather was really hot and sunny for the whole two weeks.
We were checked in quickly and given the room we'd requested before arrival, reception staff very friendly and helpful.
Our room was on 4th floor clean, tidy and still spacious with the 3rd bed for our toddler, air con perfect and the fridge came in useful as always!
Restaurant, animacion team and bar staff were friendly and very welcoming, carlos, victor, jorge and julian,to name a few made our little man's holiday perfect and many staff are still there from 2007!
Maids do a wonderful job at keeping the hotel and rooms clean and again are very friendly and polite always giving you a "hola" as you pass by.
Food great, plenty of choice to cater for everyone, breakfast is the usual fry up,cereals continental etc and at evening meal it differs each night on both meat and fish and lots of choice for desserts.
Pool area cleaned daily and always tidy,we always managed to get sunbeds daily no problem.
The esmerelda hotel across the road is having a major refurbishment and so the hotel is very busy, also the building noise starts from 7.30-8am.The noise was never a problem for us and we faced it all.
We never have a problem with traffic noise being at the front of the hotel facing the road and the only noise we heard was on a weekend when the local's gathered shouting till all hours but it never spoiled our holiday at all,the 2nd weekend we were there was much quieter though.
We received a free bottle of champagne again which is a lovely gesture from iberostar.
Very pleased with everything at this hotel and we will be booking again for next year hopefully.I can't fault anything. Thanks again iberostar for another fab holiday!

Went last year for 2 weeks half board. Food was very nice with lots of choice for all types of eaters (i'm a fussy eater). The animation team were brill.
The pool area is very good, we mainly stayed in the smller pool Area (with hot tub in middle)

The beach is a 1 minute walk through the back of the hotel.
Nearest bus stop is at top of the road outside hotel (Next to the Fanabe rounabout)

Overall a very nice hotel & would love to go back one day.

just got back from the toviscas playa 1st july. firstly the rooms they are large and comfy and i must say the cleaners keep them spotless how ever if your british you wont get a room higher than the 3rd floor unless you pay for it also youll have aroom facing the road you only get a see view or pool view once again if you pay for it,but saying that we were facing the road and didnt find it a problem and you can still see the sea if you look left. secondly the food well you cant go wrong there. there was a great selection and plenty of it.i couldnt name all there is to eat as i,de be here all day. the pool was great very big always lots of beds even when we went from the beach to the pool at 2 in the afternoon we managed to get some . the hotel itself looks like it could do with a bit of t.l.c in some places but this is one of the older hotels. its in a great spot very central to everything just behind is the moonlight fun bar its a great place with tribute bands and karaoke also just a little bit from ther theres the first and last fun bar another great place for entertainment all in all i would definatly recomend this hotel its well worth it and we will definatly go back

we stayed at this lovely hotel for two weeks recently, and were booked with Thomas Cook.
we were the only couple to get off the coach shuttle for this hotel, but the professional approach of the reception was eye opening. There was a welcome drink on the counter as we walked through the doors to reception, and checking in was just a few minutes, then we were on our way to our room 471.
Thomas Cook and the Hotel said that this room was one of many "side sea view" rooms, but it is actually part of the very long frontage of the Hotel. You can see the sea, but you also have a one way main road, with continuous noise from cars, buses and taxis etc all day, and most of the night. This also includes the lager louts on their meandering way home at 4am.
Accross the other side of the hallway, there are rooms which face the pool, and no noise from the road.
The buffet breakfasts, and evening meals were SUPERB. You could not ask for any improvement, the quantity and quality for the whole fortnight could not be surpassed, wonderful salads, fish, meats, Spanish themed foods, as well as the normal English fry ups with proper sausages !!
Chefs cooking the fish and meats to order, you really could not find better.
The table service was superb also. When you had finished your first course, the dirty crockery was removed in such a way that you barely noticed. Smartly dressed waiters and waitresses were there the moment you needed them, first class. The table cloths were changed after every meal, clean and ready for the next customer.
The pools were also very well kept, and a pleasure to swim in, and relax around. Sadly there are still the sunbed reservers, out there with their towels, placing them on the sunbeds, and furtively checking that no one is watching. The hotel says they have a system whereby if the towels are on the sunbeds, and they remain unoccupied for 40 mins, they will remove them. However, in the 2 weeks we were there, this never happened, and every other day, I had to ask for a parasol even though the sunbeds had been empty for 2 to 3 hours...
The daily entertainment round the pool was brilliant, with all sorts of things going on, and no pressure if you didn't want to join in.
Evening entertainment was pretty good, when the acts came in from outside !! The entertainment team did their best, with the occasional brilliant sketches such as their version of "Mama Mia" and "Cabaret" both very good for an amateur production.
Fair do's, it was the start of the summer season !!
The main thing that spoilt the shows were those huge pillars around the room, which meant you had to be very selective in where you sat, as you could miss the action.
As usual, watch out for the "Time Share Touts" who have bases in both of the main parks that are on the "must see" days out. No such problems in the hotel though.
All in all. a wonderful place to stay, and we will be back for sure. One other thing, the hotel internet is 6 euros/hour whereas you can walk down the road about 5 mins, there was an internet cafe who charged 1.50 euros for an hour, much better speed too.

Room Tip: you may have to pay extra,, but book a pool view

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel. We enjoyed ourselves so much last year we just had to come back. Thankfully, they've kept all the elements that make it great.
The staff are all friendly, welcoming and happy to help, whether it's the cleaners, reception or bar staff, chefs or restaurant staff. They really helped make our stay a pleasure.
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a seaview on the 6th floor, and the view from the balcony was delightful, especially getting to see the sunsets with a glass of wine in the evening!
The food was good also, we were half board. The only downside was that after a couple of days you were back to the same type of food, and it can get a bit boring. However, it was well cooked and tasty, so no real hardship.
The hotel itself is large and spacious, and well placed near the beach. There is a lovely cafe just across the road called the News Cafe, where you can get a large ice-cold beer and a rum & coke for less than €5, so that was a definite plus!
All in all, the Torviscas Playa is a really well-run hotel in an ideal location, and perfect for couples and families alike. We would be very happy to recommend it, and we will definitely be going back again.

Room Tip: A room on 3rd floor or higher make for good views
