“GOOD LOCATION WARM ROOMS”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 November 2012

Stayed October half term paid 50.00 euros for room upgrade which was nice as recently refurbished plenty of room for family of three new sofabed bedroom with double bed and single bed pushed together balcony overlooking the quiet pool green room 409 only a short walk from main pool which was locked until 9.30am locked again at 6.30pm.
Room given on arrival was very warm and bedroom overlooking busy main road bit of a con having to pay for upgrade when room was already empty.
Bathroom only had shower no bath could be be a problem with young children who are used to having baths
Charge of ten euros for remote control (refundable) safe 17.00 euros per week
Kids mini disco only started at 9.00 pm which was a bit late and face painting which was good but took forever to do if you were more than fourth in line forget it as at ten the entertainment comes on good reptile show with snakes and lizards if you want your picture taking costs ten euros. Short walk from aqualand water park 22.50 euros for adults 16.00 for kids inc dolphin show charge of one euro for sunbeds great jacuzzi massage jets for adults near lazy river
Nice Hotel entertainment staff lovely who made a great effort for halloween night with a scare tunnel think the adults enjoyed it more than the kids!
Hotel is in desperate need of air con rooms warm in rainy oct/nov so would have dreaded to stay in them in the hotter months
short walk from wigan pier bar at bottom of the road. Hotel on steep hill so not great for those with a mobility problem unless your on your mobility scooter

Room Tip: green room block facing skypark

we had a lovely room, one of the updated rooms 205 blue. Lovely and roomy very clean and modern. Maid service was good 5 days out of seven. Clean towels most says and beds changed once out of seven days. Only downside to room was no aircon.

On to the food well it was terrible. One evening they even had half cooked sausages cut in half with a grated cheese on top as one of the main dishes. Another night the soup had the previous nights rice dish in it. Watch out the food they grill at the counter I was served chicken still raw in the middle. I then noticed the use the same tongs to put raw meat onto the grill as they serve you with. Could go on....

As for the bar service have you ever been served beer in a small plastic cup 20cl size. Well you do here. All inclusive had a wide choice of drinks put served in small plastic glasses, on a night you got a glass put only till they ran out of glasses. Hotel was quiet so no excuses really for running out.

We stayed in Playa Olid for 1 week in October All Inclusive booking through Thomas Cook, The hotel was clean and pool area kept nice and tidy. no problems getting a sun lounger
We were lucky to be allocated a recently refurbished room and it had everything we needed although there is no air con this is the only fault I have with this hotel. The food was nice and I am a fussy eater but still managed to eat something every day/night food does get a bit repetative but thats to be expected, food always hot and replenished when running low and some foods cooked to order by the chef, i.e steak, chicken, pork etc. The pool bar at the quieter pool towards the rear of the hotel was closed due to refurbishment but there is a bar at the main pool serving soft drinks, local spirits, cocktails and slush puppies, the snack bar was also open serving burgers, toasties, chips and chicken nuggets.

The hotel has an excellent location about 10min walk to the beach and there are a few pubs near by so not to far away from the nightlife/

I would definetly go back this hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed at the above for 3 days. Thank god it was no longer. Room 403 Red, very dated, pillowcase protected yellow and stained.
Only did breakfast.food not that good.
Reception area gives a false impression of the what u think the rooms will like. Certain members of the reception staff are useless and unhelpful. Rest of the staff are friendly and helpful.

Supermarket joined onto the hotel, woman in there is pig ignorant. Use another supermarket.

We booked the Playa Olid Hotel three weeks in advance at our local Thomas Cook branch. We fully intended to go to Egypt this year but were persuaded otherwise by the Thomas Cook advisor. The advisor suggested Tenerife as an alternative location; she produced an Airtours Brochure and quickly suggested a hotel on page 282 (Playa Olid). She also went on to say the hotel provided UNLIMITED access to the Siam Water Park throughout our stay ( as stated in the Brochure). On the strength of this advice it seemed a deal which we could not refuse.
We booked the holiday that day, unfortunately we found out after we had booked, that the advice given was incorrect and the water park was not on offer. Be very careful when booking make sure you get the Water Park Offer in writing! The entrance to the water park is approx. £80 for a family.
The Hotel itself was fine, although the rooms do not have air conditioning; the food is good but very repetitive. The pool area is OK but cramped and soon experiences shading in the later months of the year. The hotel staff are very helpful and can’t do enough for you, also the hotel is spotless. All in all a good holiday for the price we paid, but again be very careful when booking, this experience has put me off Thomas Cook for life, although to their credit they did provide me with one days access to the park, not quite the same as unlimited though as sold.

we booked through very cheap holidays via ice lolly.com. we arrived from glasgow at 23.00 and got to hotel at 00.30, reception very clean we dumped our cases in room 301 blue and were offered cold buffet. the room was enough for us, in that it did what we wanted bed (although wife suffered with a bad back and restless nights), shower and a balcony two infact, our room had the older decor but other rooms were being modernised, the food was repetitive but so what, ive stayed in four star hotels that do the same as others have stated the drinks were small but most ive stopped in do this so not a big problem, we didnt have a kettle for two days so just used a pan and bottled water then one appeared, never used the night time entertainments, due to time of year there plenty of sun loungers plus we had the sun on our balcony all day anyways,on our last day was the big let down cause our bands were cut off at 12.pm and our us bus picked us up at 20.25 so no dinner or tea,, others had complained and gotten one meal so we did as well, and then at airport there was a two hour delay but others were diverted to manchester then bussed to glasgow.

over all i couldnt fault the hotel apart from no coffee or tea with meals except at breackfast but that wouldnt stop me going back, 99% of the staff always had a smile

would i go back,, yes i would, but not this week as bad weather is forecast

Room Tip: 301 blue, got the sun all day,

Arrived home today after a week in Playa Olid Appts. Good freshly cooked food, clean apartments ,with a free upgrade to one bed apt., choice of quiet or lively pools and very helpful staff, who could ask for more? Take a little fan to plug in at your bedside to cool you down, the nighttime temp was in the 20's most nights. Get a late room if your flight is a very late one, we paid 60 euros for three adults for a late room plus all inclusive till we left at 11 pm. No faults with the hotel but WARNING ! Do not use the ticket shop , 5 Star Excursions, three down from the hotel. They will take your money and sell you a fake ticket ! We paid 96 euros for admission into Siam Park and when we got there, we were mortified to be turned away and told out tickets were fake! We got a taxi straight back to the shop and demanded our money back, we had to threaten them with the police and stage a sit in until our money was returned. They tried every trick in the book to avoid giving it back but they had messed with the wrong family, never try to take a Scotsmans money under false pretences ! Apparently we were not the only ones, how they get away withit I'll never know. They were there the next day, bold as brass! Siam park, although pricey, was lovely, apart from the bitter taste left on our mouths! Costa adeje is lovely and we will return, older and wiser next time !

Room Tip: Pool view, high floor of you can handle the stairs, not all rooms have direct lift access. Take a fa...
