we stayed at this hotel 13 - 20th October, and had read all the reviews, which were in the main very valid. We went all inclusive and did upgrade to a full sea room. On arrival we were allocated room 866 which overlooked the sea and the Villama, which was fine. After checkin we were told our late meal was in the dining room, which was a meat salad, fruit and a cold drink. The rooms are a tad dated but to be honest with you I go on holiday for the sun and location, not to spendtoo much time in our room. My wifes only negative was the hand towels were a little harsh for her skin. Appart from the absolute minor negative, lets hit the positives: The staff are absolutely fantastic, and just cannot do enough for you and the food was superb. Sun bed seem a little close to one another, but you soon get used to it. We have stayed in many hotels over the years and I think it is wrong to assign star ratings to holiday hotels, as Tenerife is not the UK. We thoughly enjoyed our stay and will be back in February. My thanks go to all the Staff at the Bouganville even our cleaner Fany who kept our room spotless.

Room Tip: Ignore all the negatives, go and form your own opinions, we did and did not regret it.

Lovely Hotel, stayed there several times keep going back, the staff work hard to make your stay a pleasent one.
The Hotel in my opinion is one of the best the location is spot on,impressive entrance, nice reception.
Rooms needs a little TLC,Iknow that this will be done because they are proud of their Hotel.
Grounds really nice well kept.
Location excellent for bars(rabbit & pleasent plucker & many more) for beach/buses
shops/big & small supermarkets just about everything.

Room Tip: speak to Bouganville staff before you book if you tell them what you want they will advise you,ie r...

lovely stay at the bouganville playa. food excellent, pools perfect, staff great, rooms, as other reviews a bit dated but absolutely fine. there is lots to do outside the hotel also. if you go out of the side gate by the pool and go past the two shops, there is steps with a sign saying to the beach, next to this are steps to a restraunt, and next to this is a lift to the beach!! cuts out a lot of walking. you can also walk down hill to the h10 and there is a slope that also takes you right down to the beach. as i say, cuts out a lot of walking if you have difficulties. hotel is great for every age, we went all inclusive, breakfast till 10 then dinner 1-3pm then evening meal. local drinks on the all inclusive, lovely creamy coffees with whipped cream by the pool, few sandwiches and biscuits also by the pool if your peckish between lunch and evening meal.
overall i would recommend this hotel to anyone, i travelled with my partner, my mum and dad and my mother in law and we all loved it. check out ryan's bar opposite for live entertainement.
please note though the only downside to the whole lovely experience in this hotel is that our flight home was 8pm and they cut your all inclusive arm band off when you check out, you can have lunch but no drinks which can be expensive after paying for 7 days all inclusive. it didnt really seem fair but its just the way it is.

Room Tip: sea view more expensive but worth it.

Just returned from a lovely holiday in this hotel and although the food was definately worth four stars plenty of choice hot and freshly cooked the hotel is badly in need of upgrading with tired rooms etc. Although the bedrooms were big enough the bathrooms were so tiny that there was not enough room to swing a cat round in them. The pool area was pleasant although trying to find a sunbed unless you were out before 8am was virtually impossible with the main pool being so overcrowded we always stayed round the smaller pool which was quieter.I always judge a hotel on whether I would go back or not and for this reason I would give it a wide berth except for the fact it is in a fabulous location with plenty of bars ,restaurants etc. around it .

Room Tip: top floor otherwise you are waiting for lifts

Dear Jane,

We thank you for taking the time and effort to write your opinion on your recent stay in Tripadvisor. Your review helps us to know how we can still improve the experience of our guests and to us that is of prime importance.

We would like to point out that despite the fact that our hotel was built a few years ago, we do our utmost to take good care of it, maintaining all of the installations the best we can. Even so we took good note of your commentary and we commit to revise if we can renovate some of the areas.

Further, we are happy to read that due to your preference for a tranquil ambiance, you took advantage of the smaller pool. We understand that not everybody is in to the lively atmosphere ruling the main pool area; therefore, the design of our hotel offers also more quiet corners and it is enjoyable to read this is valued by our guests.

To continue, we feel proud and glad that you have enjoyed the prime pillars to offer splendid holidays to our guests. In Iberostar Bouganville Playa we find it important that our clients can delight their palates with local and international culinary highlights and that the surrounding areas are attractive.

Finally we thank you for taking the time and effort to write your opinion on your recent stay in Tripadvisor. Your review helps us to know how we can still improve the experience of our guests and to us that is of great importance.

Sincerely yours,

Well what can I say, after starting our holiday in the nightmare of all hotels (Green Garden Resorts). We decided to change hotels at our cost and what a great decision!!!
The cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding, as was the food and choice of food. Entertainment was exceptional, with the friendliness of staff outstanding.
The pools were of ample size, with plenty of sun loungers available.
All in all a really good hotel, that I would recommend to everyone.

We paid a return trip to the bouganville in Costa Adeje on 21st September this year. We had a pretty bad experience with our room last year so wondered if we were mad going back.
However on arrival at 12.30 pm there was indeed a room available for us this time. It was on the first floor and a corner room. On investigating there was no lock on the patio door and people could walk past us, and I could smell Cigarettes. I went down to complain and was told to come back after breakfast.
On doing this we got a lovely room (a lick of paint would improve it) number 812. It had a fantastic view of the sea, marina and the mountains. Well chuffed we settled down for a good nights sleep. My husband was wakened by something dripping. The air con was leaking. We reported this and an engineer came straight up. Our fault was repaired first thing in the morning.
The food was very good and there was a good choice. The dining room staff were excellent especially Anna who was very attentive . I still had to go down and put a towel on my poolside bed however at 8am in the morning if we wanted a nice place.
The entertainment was quite good although very similar to last year. We preffered the ballroom. The drinks prices were a bit pricey but only to be expected and as there was a wee fridge in our room this was not a problem. Be very careful when using a taxi. I thought I was up to all their tricks but was ripped off on one trip. Its better to use the local bus service.
This year you had to charge your dining room drinks to your room (I didnt like this). We kept all our receipts. However when paying our bill everything was quite correct.
Overall I would recommend the Bouganville to anyone but please Mr Manager see to the bedroom decor.

Room Tip: Never go for 1st or 2nd floor if you are a non-smoker and dont be afraid to complain if you are not...
