The beach del duque was very close so you can do sunbath near the hotel pool with the see view and go to the beach to just swim and come back if you prefer the see rather than pool like me. It is very comfortable the pool area, there is every thing you need. The breakfast is excellent and the staff is very polite. The room was very clean and comfortable.
However; The first day we arrived, fhe safe box and the room door were broken. We lost more than a hqlf hour to wait to staff fixing them. Also towel slippers were not available for 2 days in the hotel room so we asked them from ckeaning lady at our 3rd day. These are things you do not except when you are staying in a hotel like sheriton

We stayed for 2 weeks in June with our 4 year old son and booked the hotel indirectly through hotels.com for a really good rate. My review then takes all that into account.

Overall: Would recommend and stay here again out of season, for a good price and if I had a room facing the pool areas on the wings.....otherwise I think I would look around.

The hotel is a 30 min drive and approx 30 Euros from the south airport by cab. We arrived late on a saturday and check in was quick and effortless. Our bags were taken to the room for us.

The lobby area is very large and open and immediately you feel you are in a well looked after hotel.

Our room was on the ground floor facing the pools (I think all the even numbers do and odd numbers face outwards - but do check because outward facing are not particularly pleasant views; on the wings at least). The room was large, very clean, comfy bed, large bathroom and the hotel put a proper bed in for our son. Very nice room. If I had any niggles it would be that the bath is hard to get in and out of (especially for a child) as the sides are so thick, and our room was particularly dark as we were in the corner. There is a fridge, but it is a minibar only that you pay for drinks as you remove them; it can't be used for storing other stuff.

Breakfast was excellent and there is a huge choice including cereals, cold buffet of cheeses, meats etc, a cooked breakfast with eggs and omelettes cooked to choice, various breads and pastries, yoghurts, fresh juice etc. Something for everyone. Breakfast was included in our rate and I highly recommend this as otherwise it is approx 25 euro PER person! Not cheap by any standards of chain hotel.

There are two pool areas, the 'main' area/pool is saltwater and 25 deg. The weather was hot and we found the pool a pleasant temperature that got warmer through the day. This pool has a large shallow area that is perfect for small children and if you don't have children I would avoid this area! Fresh towels and cushions are put out onto the chairs, which is very nice, and the pool is open 0900 to 1800. There are signs on the chairs not to reserve them but inevitably you come down at 0900 or there a bouts and of course a large number of chairs have towels on - very annoying - especially as we often didn't see the owners for at least another hour or two.

The other pool is 'normal' pool water and a touch warmer but not much. The pool side area is much smaller and it is probably better for adults and older children as there isn't such an easily accessible shallow area. It did look nice though.

The pools weren't busy as we were out of school holidays, but I can imagine that in the summer it is hectic and you'll be squeezed in. The hotel wasn't busy while we were there but there were still few chairs to spare by lunchtime.

Sadly, unlike the hotels near by there is no beach at all and if you want sand you will need to walk down the coast a bit; but only 5-10 mins in each direction, not far.

The pools have lifeguards and I have to say that overall the staff at the hotel were friendly (will come back to this). The towel hut and lifeguards were very friendly and polite, especially to the children.

Next to the pool is a bar and two restaurants, which also do a waiter to pool service.

There is a kids club, which was excellent (the photos on the website do it no justice at all and the hotel should change them IMHO). The club is card access and you can leave children there under the staff control, who will bring them back to you afterwards. There is plenty for kids to do and we found the staff in there very friendly and welcoming. Our son really enjoyed it there. There is a very small, shallow pool for babies and toddlers but space is limited.

Food was a bit of a miss, which was a real shame. It wasn't badly priced but the first three meals we ordered came undercooked or cold and somewhat tasteless, when I politely sent it back to be heated up I was disappointed with the staff attitude which was kind of like I had insulted their mother or something. So after that we pretty much gave up eating at the hotel. There isn't a huge amount nearby, there are a couple of restaurants in La Caleta, you can walk in the other direction and find a couple of average overpriced bistros, and directly opposite the hotel there are a couple of restaurants. We tried one, Jade Stone I think, and it wasn't great. Funny enough, the best was one called '7' which on first look you think 'hmmm, no' but actually the food was surprisingly good and very cheap. A real surprise. We ate there several times. There are also a few shops there - chemist, holiday clothes etc. But also a small supermarket, so you can stock up on bread, drinks and meats etc for the day to eat in the hotel.

The hotel is well placed for local attractions. Jungle Park is pretty good and is about a 10 Euro cab ride away next to Aqua Land. Both worth a visit. Loro Park is quite a journey to the other side of the island, but the hotel will arrange a tour. Shopping is more limited, but let's be honest, you're probably not in Tenerife to shop! I think if we go again, we'll probably hire a car for a couple of days.

The hotel does do a paid for late check-out but you have to ask at least 24hrs ahead. We did this, but they had still booked out room out and wouldn't change it so we had most of the day hanging around as we had a late afternoon flight, which was a shame.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend the hotel - if you get a good rate and perhaps out of season. If not, them I might actually look around a bit.

The staff are generally helpful and polite, although if you have any issues or questions they don't know the answers too, then they can be a little 'off' and lacking in knowledge we found. Although this was generally limited to the management/restaurant/bar staff; because the pool, kids club staff were great.

Apart from the towels on the chairs, the only real gripe I have, and one to be aware of, is smoking in the hotel. People smoke around the pool, on the hotel room balconies (we couldn't use ours at times because of it), in all the dining areas during meals and for non-smokers it can get a bit annoying. I thought this had mostly died out in Europe but I guess not. But given this is a cultural thing I can hardly blame the hotel, so I won't. But I'm not sure why a big chain like this couldn't just have smoking areas or at least ban it during meals.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the pools and preferably on one of the wings so you don't get the bar noise

As I write, we are on the last of 11 days at this hotel and what a fantastic experience it has been. The staff could not be more helpful, the hotel itself is beautiful, the grounds are lush and everywhere is spotlessly clean. I cannot stress enough how valued the staff make you feel, particularly in our case at the pool bar during the day and the upper terrace bar in the evening. We booked a superior room on a B&B basis. The room was a good size easily accommodating our double bed plus a single for our teenage daughter and there is lots of storage space - we brought plenty with us! Gorgeous, spacious bathroom, too. The breakfast buffet is extremely good (and the fresh orange juice on tap is addicting!). We didn't eat in the three main hotel restaurants but did order food in the pool bar and upper terrace bar which was good. If you walk through the hotel grounds to the rear, there is a largely paved walk-way through a security gate - turn right and you come to La Caletta village with several restaurants (we tried the large seafood restaurant which was very good) and left takes you to various stops en route to Adeje proper. El Torre del Mirador (question spelling) is definitely worth a couple of visits and the shopping centre it is part of is good for some shopping. Out the front of the hotel, turn left and you'll quickly come to the Jade Stone restaurant which is pretty good. I don't really agree with the complaints about the internet - we regularly stay in 5 star London hotels and are usually charged to use the internet. True, it can be a bit intermittent but you're on holiday! All in all, a great hotel and definitely worth a return visit.

We booked our trip really last minute (6 days before) and chose the hotel based on a friends recommendation. We wanted guaranteed sunshine and lots of relaxation which was what we got.

The hotel is about a 30 euro trip from the airport in a fairly quiet part of the island and about a 10 min cab ride from playa de las Americas.

Right from arrival we were impressed - lovely juice and friendly greeting.

We had a room on the 3rd floor and on the left side so we got the late evening sun which was brill. Room was well appointed, comfy beds, plenty of space and large modern bathroom and tv. Only negatives are that there was no fridge (just mini bar) and no free wifi which you do expect these days in any hotel let alone 5star (you could pay 30 euros for a week but we chose just to use the free wifi in the business lounge which was ok).

Pools were lush - one heated freshwater and another cold sea salt. Plenty of sun loungers which had fresh covers each day which was a nice touch.

Food and drink was maybe a little pricey but not beyond what I'd expect to pay in a hotel like this. Cocktails were yum and all food was fresh and tasty. Breakfast was available until 11am everyday - plenty of choice and great omelettes cooked to order. A little understaffed though particularly towards the end of the week when hotel filled up with families and service felt fraught and not personal.

In the evenings we went into la caleta. There's a great tapas place and very good Italian. There's not so much the other side of the hotel but we tried a couple of ok places.

Overall hotel was really brill and we had a fab time. It wasn't too busy while we were there though But I do wonder I fit might feel a little less relaxing with more people particularly children. We would come back but not in peak season. Thanks for a great trip.

Room Tip: We had room360 - left side at the top which got the evening sun which we enjoyed.

Efficient reception, clean bungalow, comfortable bed, no problems with the quality of all inclusive package, choice of three swing pools, even large tv screen for football. Would go back for a similar break

Room Tip: no kettle for early cup of tea
