We stayed at the hotel in March 2012 and had a great time. The hotel was spacious, clean and peaceful. The rooms were large and the bathroom had a separate shower which was useful.

The grounds were lovely and there was a nice small pool for children, although it was difficult to get a sun lounger near there .... lots of saving sunbeds. My only gripe would be the saving sunbeds (although I did see them removing towels sometimes) which made it hard to find a bed in the middle of the day.

Location was excellent - we were very pleased that we had decided to stay near the Del Duque beach, it was the nicest area on the Costa Adeje.

Room Tip: We had a superior sea view which was lovely

The hotel is spacious and peaceful. The rooms are large and spotlessly clean. We were very impressed with the bathroom which included a bath plus power shower. We arrived at the hotel to a warm welcome from friendly receptionists who offered us a glass of champagne or fruit juice, then shown our rooms immediately. The views from our balcony overlooked the pool areas and we could see the sea. We caught the sun around 3.0pm in an afternoon so it was nice to relax with our books for a couple of hours. The spa is superb and we thoroughly enjoyed the thermal circuit. There are loads of treatments and massages on offer, which people seemed to enjoy. The food is brilliant, with choices galore. I especially enjoyed breakfast, as we were serenaded by a violinist. There was a vast choice of different food even down to the bread Chefs were on hand to make omelets cooked to your liking. The entertainment was fairly average, but the entertainment staff worked very hard.

Great Hotel in one of the best locations in Tenerife, next to Del Duque beach. This was our first holiday with our little boy and we were originally going to rent a villa. We were glad we went for the hotel, we have been to the Costa Adeje area of Tenerife many times and have always enjoyed it. The Gran Tacande ticks all the boxes.
Location - 5 minutes to 2 shopping centres with grocery shopping, bars, restaurants and plenty of clothes shops in Paris shopping centre and Plaza Del Duque.
Food - We only went for bed and breakfast but the breakfast was superb with every nationality catered for.
Rooms - Big and spacious, our room (733) had direct sea views and a large balcony which we could sunbathe on or just grab a drink at night if we wanted.
Facilities - We didn't use the gym but the swimming pools are great, the kids pool is nice and warm for the little one, the top pool i used for swimming in the morning and the bottom pool is colder so you can cool off.
Staff - Noelia and Douglas were brilliant behind the bar.
Bad Points - Certain people putting towels on seats at 7am and generally being miserable, not the hotels fault though. Other than that i can't fault it at all.

Room Tip: 1. Room 733 has great views and is away from the main hotel so less noisy. There was some music from...

We stayed at the Dream Hotel Gran Tacande in Tenerife for four days during the Easter break, booked through Thomas Cooks. We stayed in Tenerife a few years ago and were not that impressed ( in part due to the area – Los Christianos ) so very carefully picked our area and hotel, which others seemed to indicate was a little bit more up-market, we were not disappointed.
The hotel is quite large with an imposing reception area and main staircase, despite its size the hotel never felt crowded, although I suspect it was not full during our stay. We had paid in advance a supplement for a sea view room, but were nevertheless, taken aback at how nice and how spacious our room was. We had flagged in advance that we were celebrating an anniversary which is why, I suspect we were given such a splendid room. The double jacuzzi bath ( with rose petals ), canopied bed and double balcony with sunbed, were either a mark of the hotel room quality or a credit to hotel management for making such an effort to mark our special occasion.
The hotel offers a wide range of facilities, those which we sampled we found to be excellent. All areas of the hotel were very well maintained and spotlessly clean. There was a good spattering of English people there, however the majority of the guests during our stay appeared to be German with a few Spanish, Italian, French and Russian ( though not like the Russians you get in Egypt ). All of the staff appeared to speak English and we found them to be polite, courteous and very obliging. The pools area is very well maintained and we never had a problem finding a sun bed, which the hotel provide cushions and towels for.
There was a wide variety of good quality food available for the buffet style breakfast, and whilst we only ate there once in the evening, the choice and quality were good and we thought it pretty good value for money at 24 Euros per head.
In summary, a lovely hotel, in a lovely area.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view. Don't go anywhere near the market - awful.

Returned yesterday from a one week stay. We thought the hotel was excellent and represented very good value for money for a hotel of that standard and in that location. It was only 2 minuted walk through the gate at the bottom of the pool area to the Del Duque beach - one of thenicest on the island. We only stayed bed and breakfast as we enjoy eating out at night time but the breakfast was very good. The usual buffet style but plenty of choice and good quality. Although the hotel was full there was never a problem getting a sun lounger around the pool. Our room was fine. Very comfortable and spacious (especially the bathroom). We had a side seaview and a really lovely terrace with table and chairs and sun lounger (and it got the sun from about 10.30am all day long). Some of the balconys looked a little small so I think we we're lucky to get such a nice one. All of the staff that we encountered were friendly and professional. Just a couple of very minor issues that the hotel could improve upon. Firstly the entertainment in the hotel was dreadful, it didnt matter to us as we prefer to go out and about in the resort but on a couple of occasions we returned to th hotel early and popped into the main bar for a nightcap and saw the end of some extremely cheesy and poor quality entertainment. The other issue was the tv only has news channels in english. Again it didnt bother us but the option of movies might be welcomed by some guests.
All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This was our second trip to Tenerife - last year we stayed at Jardin Tropical which was a massive disappointment.

The Gran Tacande was the opposite - lovely hotel in a quite but upmarket part of the Island.

I travel regularly on business and stay in quality hotels, but I have to say the level of service in this hotel was far beyond any other I have stayed in. Nothing was too much trouble and they genuinely care for their customers. They even have a catalogue of different pillows available.

Food was good and to a high standard - often freshly cooked in front of you.

Sunbed availability did not seem a problem.

How would I improve the hotel;

- Greater range of menu choices for Children at Dinner time
- More emphasis on evening entertainment
- Greater range of english speaking TV channels

Highly Recommended though.
