“Safety deposit box.”
Reviewed 8 October 2011

Food very good, room clean but basic.

Good location and fairly quiet from around 23.30.

Nearly had a heart attack when asked for 28.50 (euro) for the hire of a safety deposit box for the week. I think this is very excessive and certainly should not be more than 10 (euro).

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a pool view.

Hello,

thank you for your opinion on Panorama Hotel. I asked in the hotel's reception and was told that the cost of the safety deposit box is 18€ per week and a 10€ deposit, which is returned to the client at the end of the stay. As for all the rest, we really appreciated your post and we look forward to see you again for a lovely stay.

Kind regards,
web secretary

The hotel is clean and the pool area nice and quiet. The apartment we had looked out on to a wall! It was in the 30's during our stay and the lack of air conditioning was really missed. There was a ceiling fan which was of no use really. The room was basic, clean and adequate for our needs as we don't cook anyway. The pool bar was charging over 3 euros per large beer in the evening and you could go round the corner to one of the local bars and have the same for 1 euro. They also charge for the umbrellas and cushions for the sun loungers :-( I wouldn't go back but it's ideal if you want a cheap getaway. It's very central with lots of bars and restaurants and shops close by.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view otherwise you get a wall to look at!

7-14th September.

I went to this hotel based on the reviews here and I was very pleased!

The room was basic but bigger than we expected! we had a separate bedroom when we expected a small studio which was nice! we had a powerful shower, and a little kitchen area, a sofa bed, a table, tv with english channels, the only downside is that we had a ground floor apartment facing some bushes then the street which meant we couldnt leave our balcony door open and our bedroom window was on an outside corridor of the hotel so we couldn't really leave that open! The rooms have fans on the ceiling but they don't really help! The lack of aircon is the only downside to this hotel as the rooms are so so so hot at night and generally all day. The rooms have everything you need and are cleaned daily with new towels and sheets provided by friendly staff.

The hotel staff were very friendly with a 24 hour reception. The pool is spacious and clean and the life guard is an absolute legend! Guests at the hotel do that annoying thing where they put towels on the sunbeds but there was never a shortage of beds and for a euro you can hire a mat for the bed which makes them really comfy!

Walk out of the hotel and go right and walk to the roundabout and turn right again and walk down the strip and you will come to absolutely wonderful restaurants with really friendly staff at great prices! the restaurants face the sea and some do 3 course meals for 10 euros which is amazing!! beware as you are getting to these theres a really annoying guy in a cowboy hat that hounds you to come into his restaurant and follows you up the path, we got really good at avoiding him!

We found a wonderful bar called Kandi Lounge which i would reccommend young people to go to, the cocktails are 2 for 5 euros and its like 1.50 for a pint of local. its got a really nice atmosphere and friendly staff and i would really really encourage people to go! the cocktails come out all nice with sparklers and the staff bring your drinks to the table you dont even have to go to the bar!

Another good thing, there was absolutely no bugs, no seagulls hovering for food, so clean and nice everywhere!

Great holiday, loved every second of it, great hotel in a great area! Would definitely come again!!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool facing balcony so you can leave the doors open

we have stayed many times at the Panorama appartments, you can have the hotel meals in or go out and eat in the many restarunts round about, it is close to bars and all the amenities for a good holiday, if beaches are for you then there is a sand [ not black sand ] just a short walk away, and if you want the night life of las americas then only a short stroll will bring you to these, the panorama has a good sized pool area and a snack bar serveing fodd and drink all day if you dont want to move away from the pool, very relaxing place for the quieter holiday

I have to say I was quite surprised when we arrived at the hotel. It was literally 50 yards from the sea front and the views were fantastic. Although we had requested a room on one of the upper floors we were actually given a ground floor room which I must say was very spacious and well laid out.Our room had a seperate bedroom. The rooms were cleaned every day except sunday so I don't know where the people who have complained on here get their facts from? The only issue I had was the pool men being VERY noisy in the morning. I know the pool has to be cleaned before people use it but when they are shouting across the pool at each other at 0700am it's a bit much. Still it didn't put us off our stay and I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone. The only suggestion I do have is that perhaps the owners should invest in air con as the fans are next to useless.

just returned from 2 weeks at the panorama with my husband and 2 girls (13yrs and 3yrs)..after reading all the reviews on here i went with an open mind as the majority were pretty good, i was soon wishing i had paid more attention to the not so good ones..
on arrival was given no help with the 5 cases we had and lift so small took 3 trips to the 3rd floor.
on entering the room, (404) was surprised at the size as its very spacious and had fantastic sea views, but unfortunatley thats where the good bits end...
the main bedroom backed onto another hotel that seemed full of youngsters and the noise went on untill 2/3am most nights, fortunately my girls slept through it, but could be a problem if you are light sleepers.
the rooms also have no air con which we knew before we went but didnt realise how hot it was, reached 30deg plus everyday and room only had a ceiling fan in the main bedroom, hired a fan from reception for 40 euros (10 you get back on returning it) it helped a bit but def needs air con..
the bathroom was big but bath had paint stains in and some mould around the bath seal, the toilet is in the most stupid of places, as you sit on it you literaly face the sink with about an inch between your body and sink.
the plug socket for the hairdryer was literally hanging out the wall, so didnt use it all.
the living area, is a great size and we had a corner sofa which we pushed together to make a double bed for ourselves.
kitchen had a fridge which worked very well, cupboard doors are poor fitting and really need sorting out.
the room was very dusty and floor was dirty when we arrived, but nothing a few baby wipes didnt sort out....however the furniture in the room was crawling with little tiny bugs (tenerifes version of ants).
got rid of most of them and thought that was it.
the following evening after going back to the room there were more ants, literally everywhere went to reception and was told not much they can do and would be cleaned in the morning.
cleaner came and we left her to it, on going back was very disapointed to find all she had done was put clean towels in bathroom and leave sheets on our bed for us to put on, floor hadnt been swept or anything dusted.
we had bought some crisps and sweets etc for the kids to eat during the day and kept them in the suitcase on the table which was zipped up, went to get some bits out and discovered ants all over the food in the case, they were also in the clothes which the cleaner had dumped on the table, we had to throw all the food and case away, by now i was so upset i wanted to go home, went back to reception and said i wanted another room, was told "not possible" instead i got a maintenance guy sent up armed with ant spray and a broom.
after he had cleaned the room i went back to reception and told them i wanted the room stripped in the morning and cleaned properly.
following day room seemed to be a lot cleaner but still had to make our own beds, we were also left a can of ant spray which i sprayed everyday and providing you have no food around seemed to do the trick...
after that we didnt put any food or drink in the room, which seems ludicrous as the option is there for self catering.
we were half board, which i definately do not recommend, the food was awful i actually lost 2 kilos in weight and my 3 yr old lost a kilo...
cold chips every night, pizza that was not cooked, again everynight, some kind of stew that was full of fat in the meat, mashed potato that looked more like semolina and a salad bar that was crawling with flies..
ended up eating out most days...
the only plus side was the bbq on a wednesday which was very good, fresh meat, spanish omelette, great selection of pasta etc, shame they didnt do it every night.
the swimming pool was great, was alternated between 2 lifeguards on different days..
massive respect for lewis (lifegaurd) who is a top guy, was at his post most of the day, when he wasnt there he was cleaning around the pool or talking to everyone.
the other life guard however was useless, spent most of the day around the pool bar or on his phone....on our 2nd from last day a little girl had done a poo in her nappy in the pool, unfortunately her mum didnt ge her out quick enough and some of it managed to escape into the water.
the mum hadnt seen it and went off to change her baby, i unforunately had seen some floating around which i scooped out, but some had sunk to the bottom, explained to the life gaurd (not lewis) and showed him where it was, but he was more intersted in his phone and left the poo where it was, completely put us off and we didnt go back on the last day which was a shame as lewis does such a good job.
there is also no entertainment on a friday or saturday evening and the rest of the wk wasnt great and didnt start untill 10pm most nights and finished by 10.30pm.
also nothing for kids to do at all, seemed more like an old peoples retirement home.
quite alot of germans too who were typicaly german and very rude, paid no attention to the no ball rule in the pool, lewis did however stop it but other lifeguard played blind to it.
would not return to this hotel if you paid me...
on the plus side its in a fantastic location, near beach, loads of restaurants, bars and shops..
can recommend the eden whale and dolphin boat trip absolutely fantastic and kids loved it too. great places to eat are the bahia and blue marlin restaurants along the porto colon strip just past the marina.
best beach was fanabe in torviscas, 18 euros for 3 sunloungers, mattresses and parasol but worth it.
also great designer shops at playa del duque and santiago 5, which also has a huge swwt shop full of haribo sweets...
mercadona supermarket was the cheapest and great choice of stuff, come out of hotel, walk up the hill turn left, cross over the road and its in the san eugenie hopping centre, however just be careful what you put in the room...
will be going back to costa adeje next year but staying else where, beautiful country and great people, just a shame the panorama let it down, would say its more a 2 star than a 3 star...

Room Tip: high floor room as a few stray cats roam around the ground floor.. and great sea views
