Following a 9 hour delay at the airport we arrived at the Guayarmina Princess late at night. We were allocated room 2024 while our friends had 2030. Both couples paid the same price, and I wish the same could be said about the standard of the rooms allocated. 2030 faced the front entrance and had an open balcony, plenty of storage and seating. 2024 had a fully glazed enclosed balcony with a small opening. It is an echoing, souless area that did not invite you to sit on it and relax. Some kind of decoration would have made it much better, and reduced the echoing. The storage consisted of a small single wardrobe with only hanging space and a bottom shelf with space taken by the safe (cost - 2.25 euros a day!!), and an inaccessible top shelf for the shorter ones amongst us. There was a locked fridge (4 euros a day for its use!!!!) It also faced north over a carpark and onto a concrete faced wall. The room had a floor to ceiling window which was a continuous feature to that elevation reaching up and down to the other floors. There appeared to be very little barrier between the window and the floors, so you could hear EVERYTHING going on in the room above and the room below. Upon complaint we were moved to a room with a sea view, but this took three days.
It is unfortunate but first impressions are the ones that count and that is why I have only rated this hotel as average. Those first days gave a frankly poor impression, but the last ones increased my overal rated by a notch!

This was our first time in Tenerife. The hotel was was welcoming before we even got through the doors; a member of staff took my wifes case off her and took it in for het. After checking in the cases were delivered to our room. The room was spotlessly clean and tidy. The television had a number of English channels available. The balcony view was not on the sea front, but still had a view of the sea. The dining room was always busy at meal times, but was very well organised so that we never had to wait long for a table. The staff were very helpful at all times. The food was excellent with lots of choice for both the breakfast and evening meals. There is a piano bar were there was evening entertainment. The was another bar were there was lots of entertainment for all age groups. There was a lift from the pool down to the beach. A very pleasant stay at a wonderful hotel. We will certainly be going back again; perhaps next time when the canival is on.

Room Tip: There are rooms which are facing the sea; these will get more sun. The sunset is worth the view. N...

We (two 60+ couples) returned home last night from a 10 day holiday booked through Thomsons. I had read the reviews before our visit and was a little concerned about the poor comments about the restaurant food and seating arrangements. However, we did not have any such problems. Sure, there were queues at around 9.00am for breakfast and at 9.00pm for dinner, but if you avoided these times you were seated almost immediately. The restaurant is large and tables are close together (but not crammed as some reviewers have suggested) and there is ample circulation space considering the number of diners. The variety and quality of food was very good and I cannot understand why some people have complained about choice. At breakfast there was a choice of boiled, scrambled and fried eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, tomatoes, toast, etc (for those who preferred a traditional English breakfast), with plenty of fresh fruit, cold meats, cheese, nuts, pancakes, breads, cakes and individually cooked omelettes as well as a variety of yoghurts, fruit juices, teas and coffees. At dinner, each night the chefs cooked a variety of fish and meat dishes, whilst there was a carvery and a wide selection of other meat and fish dishes, vegetables, fruit, cheeses, breads, etc. There was also a wide selection of desert dishes, cakes, ice creams, cheese and biscuits.
We certainly did not find any need to eat out at another restaurant for breakfast or dinner, although we did make use of the many local eateries for lunch. The selection of food is wide ranging (from McDonalds to Spanish, Italian and Chinese). Foe example, we had a 3 course set lunch (garlic mushrooms, peppered steak & chips and strawberries & cream) for 7.5 euros each and a typical tapas selection for 19 euros for two people. Drinks in the hotel cost about the same as in England but in the local bars you cant get a pint of beer for 1 euro and a litre of sangria for less than 5 euros. Live football matches are shown in almost every bar.
As far as the hotel is concerned, it is very large and spread over a wide area. The staff are quite friendly and helpful, the rooms are tidy, of a good size and with comfortable beds. The public areas are quite large with a variety of easy chairs, settees, chairs, tables, etc. There are on site shops (daily English newspapers at just over 2 euros). The main entertainment lounge gets quite busy in the evenings but there is also a quieter lounge where you can watch TV or play cards.
The hotel is perfectly situated on the main promenade along which you can walk for miles in either direction exploring the variety of shops, bars and restaurants.
I could go on much longer, but if anyone wants any further information, I can be contacted at joealdosu@yahoo.co.uk

We were delighted when we arrived at the Guayarmina Princess hotel which was very spacious and attractively designed. Our room was average but had beautiful views over the sea, the grounds and the large swimming pool.We rushed down to the pool the next day to find it unheated and freezing. No one swam in it. Fortunately, as it was half term, there was a small pool, which was slightly warmer, for the kids to use. We were then told we had to pay several euros a week each to use the small room safe, the locked and empty fridge and to change your beach towel. I'm afraid we didn't bother!

There were arond a thousand people staying at the hotel but only two very unreliable and chaotic lifts which hardly ever went to the right floor on the first attempt. The worst thing, however was the very long queues to be seated at meal times. Very irritating! The best thing was the dining room staff who were quite exceptional! Nothing was too much trouble and everyone of them was pleasant, kind and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for one at the back of the hotel.

As a couple, we have just returned from a two week stay in this hotel. On the positive side, the room was a good size and everywhere was very clean but we got no sun at all on our balcony so couldn't enjoy relaxing on it. The hotel is large and the dining room is like a canteen! Breakfasts were fine but the evening meals were disappointing and repetitive. In the end we ate out on several evenings. We had one picnic at lunch instead but it was so unappetising, we didn't order one again. The entertainment is limited, there were only two nights that we bothered to stay in. The hotel is in a lovely location but it is geared to families, in fact the heated pool was dominated by children. There are plenty of sunbeds but, as always , people get up early and reserve despite the hotel saying this shouldn't be done. Fridge hire is really expensive so we didn't bother with it although we hired the safety deposit box. The staff try their best but I think the size of the place makes it so impersonal.!! . .

First time stayed at this hotel in Costa Adeje and will not be returning. Hotel itself if ok, just ok. The staff work very hard, reception staff, dinner staff and cleaners are excellent. The hotel in itself is just lacking on the wear and tear side. Room towels as well as pool towels are a disgrace, they are well past their throw away date! if you want nice towels take your own. The pool area is crammed, we stayed their in February and I would hate to see it in peak season, sunbeds squashed into every available space. Some of the sunbeds too were tired looking and well used, the pool area could do with a spruce up as well their were broken tiles on the floor and the area generally tired looking. Some people have mentioned the food, it is typical buffet hot and cold food, everything is their though, I can guarantee you will find something to eat and will not be disappointed here. Yes the dinner room gets a bit crowded but try to avoid "rush hour" and it is not that bad. You have to pay additional for anything and everything you are not provided with e.g safe, fridge, a fee to change your pool towel etc etc. Finally no tea making facilities in the rooms, no iron and ironing board, just though I would mention this as some people like a cuppa in the morning. Like I said all in all it was ok.

Room Tip: Lower floor rooms seem to get no sun
