“Chic hotel in the heart of the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2011

i would highly recommend the terra maria hotel. Our hotel room was immaculate upon arrival. We were delighted to see a wonderful shower with a huge shower head and a large bathroom. It was equipped with shampoo, conditioner body lotions (which was very rare in our other hotels!). They were very nice smelling and the soap was beautiful, not like those awful white ones that crumble in your hand. The room had an ipod dock for music, aircon and a lovely plasma screen tv. The beds were super comfy and we were given two pillows each, one hard and one soft, for each persons preference. There was a balcony which overlooked a nice restaurant and the rooms made me feel so relaxed. The girl at reception was lovely and this hotel is right in the centre of the town. We simply could not ask for more. also there was heaps of closet space (we are women and we needed it haha) and lots of shelves.

We were greeted warmly by the staff at this hotel, and kindly shown to our room. I expected the rooms to be small but they were slightly smaller than imagined. But once the doors to the balcony/terrace were opened to let in fresh air the room took on a new appeal. Light, bright and sunny with a lovely breeze. Only problem with our room was the bathroom - on the second day there was a bad smell coming from the drain. When reported to staff was told it couldn't be fixed by the cleaner (it was a drain problem for a plumber, not a cleaner) and we were not offered any other solution (in the end had to cover the drain with a towel to prevent the smell - both doors and windows open). Problem may only be particular to the room we were in so just check the room before moving in!

Although I didn't have great beach weather when I stayed in Mykonos, the warmth of the staff more than compensated for the lack of sunshine. Vicky was extremely friendly and went out of her way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I had a great time talking with her every morning and on the last day she bought some biscotti for me to take on my travels as she knew they were my favourites. The rooms were very contemporary, clean and very comfortable. The beds were fantastic and I had two great sleeps while staying at the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is travelling to Mykonos. The location is great, being right in the centre of the old town. The best aspect of the Hotel Terra Maria had to be the wonderful and warm service that I received from Vicky!!! She was fantastic and I feel like I made a new friend.

Room Tip: the rooms facing the courtyard are all fantastic!!

Me and my husband stayed for 9 days to Terra Maria hotel. This is a nice, cosy, always clean, rather small hotel. The rooms are tiny but pretty, neat, minimalistic and white! Our room was a superior one which means that it was a little bit more spacious than others. The bathroom has a wonderful shower and the curtain is of waterproof cloth and not plastic. The beds are very high (in order to give you the ability to put your luggage underneath), with great mattresses and nice sheets. It has air conditioner, mini refrigerator, a big flat tv set and an ipod/iphone dock.
There is a restaurant close beside, and this was the period they were about to open, so there was a little bit of noise from the workers, which stopped after our hotel manager's complaint. Ok, the soundproofing is not what you would hope for but you will have to consider that the building is a renovated old building of Mykonos.
The staff is very polite and helpful and they make you feel at home.
Of course it is a great advantage that you are close to everything and you don't have to use a car or means of transportation (unless you want to go to a beach or depart).
As a conclusion, we would definitely get back again.

I was fortunate enough to stumble upon the lovely little Terra Maria while walking through Mykonos town searching for a decent place to stay. The room was wonderful...small, but with a large bed, AMAZING sheets, powerful air conditioning, and a completely modern bathroom and shower. The hotel has crisp, modern decor - whites, grays, and clean lines. The staff was so sweet and so helpful. I was relieved to find this place because I had just looked at another place nearby that was atrocious and hot. If you're looking for a cool, clean, lovely place on a budget in Mykonos town...go to Terra Maria! Extra tip: Cap off each night at the nearby bar/club Caprice.

We have stayed in Terra Maria boutique hotel for one week during August and i have to comment that i would definetely choose again that place for accommodation..Staff is very friendly and helpful in whatever we asked for..rooms are located exactly in the center of Myconos although in a very quite road with galleries, shops and restaurants. All we wanted to do we could reach it in 3-10 minutes walking. Rooms are quite small but all rooms are recently renovated and very very clean with flat screen tv and very nice beds.
Loved to stay at Terra Maria

The four of us, in two rooms, achieved a sum total of 3.5 hours sleep at this horribly loud hotel. And the "indoor" noise wasn't a lot better - stone floors and stairs created a superb echo chamber for every passing footstep and conversation.

We had to turn sideways to walk around the bed - there was almost no floor space - you'll have to sleep with your luggage. The shower was almost nautical style - the shower curtain (which was cold and always stuck to your butt) enclosed the toilet and a tiny shower pan.

And the movie theatre (which I guess was closed for a while?) is almost funny. It feels like you're sitting in the front row of an outdoor concert . Even the TV suspended from the ceiling couldn't touch the omnipresent Greek dialogue and background music.

This place is a bust. We packed in the morning and moved to a very very very lovely Hotel Carbonaki not too far away, but in a sound-restricted area. Our hovel at Terra Maria was 60 Euro, and a big well-appointed room at Hotel Carbonaki was 85 Euro - well worth it.
