This restaurant is certainly one of my favorite in Mykonos. We come every year to Mykonos, and each time we come back to this restaurant. And we are never disappointed.
We came back this year and everything was as magic as usual. Wonderful service, extremely delicate cuisine (especially seafood - try the monkfish or crab risotto, you won't regret it), very nice and calm setting (a bit outside the busy town...).
Prices are really reasonable.
A very good place for a quiet and romantic in Mykonos.

At the suggestion of a local Myconian friend, I went to El Greco several years ago and remember having a good meal. I went back in July 2010 along with some friends I wanted to impress. The restaurant was nothing near as good as I recalled. First, they had only two fresh fish options (a red and black sea bream) and the nasty waitress couldn't explain the difference between the two. On top of which, the restaurant charged an additional 20% (per kilo) to cut the whole fish and another 30% to de-bone it. I have never come across this pricing structure in a restaurant before. As it turned out, the fish wasn't at all good (it smelled of bleach) and I told the waitress as much. She shrugged.

To be fair, my other guests enjoyed their pasta, rice, and beef dinners. That said, El Greco is known as a fish restaurant and I was deeply disappointed by the service and food. So, too, were a large group of people staying at my hotel, with whom I commiserated over breakfast the next morning. It's just not worth the trouble of leaving town for this place.

As the owner and manager of El Greco rest sice 1976, i respect the guests opinion.I also respect the facts. It is a fact that in my menu is a remark, by low obligatory, witch says <sliced fishes are charged 20% more, fishes turned into fillets and boneless are charged 30% more .>.In practice, when i have a fish like 5-10kg, either i cut in portions and i charge by portion, or i cut in pieces not all the times equally and i charge by kilo. In a price higher 20% or 30% than a price of a small whole fish where are the head ,the tail, the bonds and the inside. That is legal and fair. It is also a fact that the others of the company enjoyed their dinner. And finally to transfer the opinion of the hotels neigbors is a reporters job and that is a fact .thank you.
