“Would go again ...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

On return from Mykonos, quite surprised to see this taverna getting such poor reviews – yes, it is not gourmet – it is, quite simply, unpretentious and a 'little' bit better than average of what must be hundreds of such facilities in Mykonos town. It is well patronised. Unsuspecting tourists? Jury out on that. It is what it is - a relatively inexpensive (for Mykonos) and no fuss eatery which has been operating since 1963. You would have to surmise surely they would not still be operating if they didn’t get some things right. Competition is rife. We ate there twice during our 6 night stay on the island. In the heart of Mykonos town, and particularly if you are a people watcher, it does provide you with not only a great location to sit and watch the world pass, but the opportunity for a cool ale and simple, fresh food, not too alarming size wise if you run with one of their Appetisers as your main. We find the Greeks overly generous in their serves. Try their melon and prosciutto – melon deliciously ripe and the combination of flavours gets the taste buds moving. We found the service staff both attentive and welcoming. I will say though, on both occasions, there was a minor hiccup with our bill – price on menu for one Appetiser lower by 2 euros than what was actually billed – we let it slide the first night, but not on the re-visit. Was it a simple slip? Who would know? However, after our waiter pointed out our query to the elderly gentleman who does the tab sum up, it was corrected with no fuss, and a smiling apology. Try it. Not that bad. There are much, much worse. And their house Greek wine better than the battery acid we drank elsewhere.

“Greek Food & Hospitality at its WORST”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2014 via mobile

We ordered lamb chops and fried calamari. Both were overcooked that we could not eat especially the lamb. When we advised the waiter, he said that he has sold many lamb chops, it is young lamb and that is how it is. I do not really write reviews but since I am so disappointed, I thought it would be better to give warning to others.

“Amazing Greek Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

I visited this resturaunt on a week day last week. The restaurant was super busy however the staff were still extremely efficient. My friends and I opted to get loads of different appitezers and each and ever one of them was delicious. Also excellent value for money - definitely a place to visit - well done to all those at Kostas!

Do not eat here at any cost, terrible. An insult to Greek food. Obviously reheated. Most other people had left their food too.
