The best thing about this hotel are the views from the lobby's open balcony, where I took this picture right before sunrise. This is great if you value the view versus proximity to the town, which is about a 15-30 minute walk away, depending on your pace. It is really a great place to chill out and hang.

Other than that, the rooms were disappointing cause the AC or AC's remote wasn't functioning properly, while the mattress and blanket was too thin, and pillow lumpy. As such, the room was really cold at night and I didn't get a good night's sleep.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, Not luxurious, but has breathtaking views from grounds and some of the rooms facing the water, we were lucky to have stayed in one of them. Very clean, friendly staff, nice continental breakfast. Situated within a pleasant minutes stroll from the shops, beach, cafes, bars and restaurants and most attractions like "Little Venice", "windmills". The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was the size of the bathroom, tiny, with no frills..Overall. we enjoyed our stay in Porto Mykonos and would love to go back and stay there>

Room Tip: Definitely a waterfront room is worth the price...breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Large spacious...

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in April. We arrived on an overcast evening so weren't hopeful for good weather the next day. We had a suite and when we awoke the next morning and opened the doors and shutters the view was amazing (as was the weather).

Our suite had a balcony that extended across the bedroom and lounge room. Both rooms were large in size and the apartment was very well decorated and very clean. The only strange thing was that there wasn't a TV in the lounge room but there was in the bedroom. There isn't tea or coffee making items but there is a fridge and safe.

You can choose to have breakfast on the verandah which has even better views or inside. Breakfast was lovely.

The hotel is directly across the road from the ferry port but the reception is at the top of the hill as the hotel is on the side of a hill. I think the hotel may offer hotel transfers but as we caught the ferry we didn't need the service.

The only downside as I mentioned is that the hotel is on the side of the hill. If you have trouble climbing stairs then request a room closest to reception. The upside of the hotel being on the side of a hill is that every room has an ocean view.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded on arrival to the 'Windmill' - which was a three story converted windmill! This was very special and the beds were super comfortable! Breakfast in the mornings was included and was very very good (only shame was that you had to buy fresh orange juice!). This place had a very modern Greek feel and was very tastefully presented. The hotel is located about a 5 min stroll from the hustle and bustle of the old port and all it's shops and restaurants. The location was fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and I would definitely book here again and recommend it to friends and family.

My husband I stayed at Porto Mykonos Hotel while traveling over the summer. This hotel is absolutely stunning and is the perfect Greek island style hotel. The hotel sits just on the edge of town so you get a spectacular view of the picturesque white buildings and water. It is about a five minute walk down the street into the heart of town. I will warn you, if stairs are not your thing, I would not recommend you stay here as the hotel is staggered into multiple levels. I considered it my workout everyday. The pool area is very relaxing to enjoy your afternoons after walking around town. The lobby has a relaxed designer South Beach feel to it. This is the perfect hotel for having a cocktail and watching the sunsets each night. The rooms are very simple but have everything you would need. They have a beach vibe to them. If you're looking for upscale luxury then you will probably be disappointed but they are spacious and all have private balconies. Based on the other areas of the hotel you probably wont be in your room very often. The food was delicious! Breakfast was your ordinary continental breakfast but the rest of their menu was phenomenal especially the fresh tzatziki and pita (I ate it every day), Greek salad, and my husband called their club sandwich with fried egg one of his top 5 sandwiches of all time. There are very good restaurants in town as well but these were appetizers we ordered while watching the sunset or relaxing at the pool. I would definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a beautiful relaxing place to stay in Mykonos stay here! My only regret is we did not stay longer but definitely have plans to return.

Room Tip: We just had a standard room, I think it was 500-something. It was on the lower level but had a priva...

We have stayed at this beautiful hotel many times. Food very good and fresh daily; the lovely buffet breakfast is more than sufficient to sustain you through the day. Room service is superb. All the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Some rooms are suitable for those with walking disabilities as the hotel is set into the hillside but, personally, believe there is no need to go anywhere once you reach the hotel! The views are stunning to say the least and the gorgeous sunsets make a wonderful background when having dinner. Our balcony was south facing so enjoyed total sunshine all day so no need to venture anywhere! Watching the superjets come and go is great to watch. Room very pretty with all amenities although it would be nice to have had tea/coffee making facilities for that first cup of tea of the day! Walking into town is ok as all downhill and takes about 15 minutes amble, but getting back again could be quite strenuous for some, although again can be done very slowly with stops along the way - however a taxi is always a good bet!! Great night life in town with a vast array of shops, and wonderful atmosphere as very buzzy no matter what time of year! VERY SAFE. However, beware drinks at the "little venice" bars especially when there are cruise liners in port as they can be doubly expensive! Most places are very easy to visit as the buses are frequent and one of the popular locations is of course Aghios Giannis where Shirley Valentine was filmed. Lovely spot and very quiet with just a couple of tavernas! All-in-all one of the most beautiful of the greek islands and we plan to return this year.

Room Tip: Higher rooms obviously have best views

Having read some bad reviews I was nervous before going but we have just come back from this hotel and I think I have a clearer idea of why there is such a disparity between the good and bad reports from guests. I think the whole experience pivots on how much you paid and what accommodation you had. The guests who have posted bad reviews didn’t seem to have the view they expected or had the smaller bathrooms with a shower that was more of a wet room! As we were staying for 10 nights and it was a wedding anniversary trip we opted to pay a bit more for a superior sea view room and we were really pleased that we did. We were given Room 246 that had a huge bed and a balcony offering a magnificent 180 degree view. The front door was on the road side so there was a little noise at night with motorbikes going past and, as it was above the breakfast area, we could hear breakfast preparations early in the morning but we soon got used to it and it wasn't a problem. The bathroom was a little tired but we had a bath so we were quite happy as we were just expecting a shower. Toiletries are body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and bath/shower gel – all kept well stocked. Yes, our view included the car park and old port but it was so interesting to watch the £m+ yachts make their way in and tie up and also to see the cruise ship activity. Our view ran from one end of the bay right across to the New Port and was really pretty – especially at night. The hotel is decorated in a kind of driftwoody style – think Caribbean meets Greece. We weren’t overly impressed by the breakfast buffet but it was adequate and there wasn’t much to complain about at all. It is a lovely hotel - the word luxury is stretching it but everything if offset by the location, views , cleanliness and service. All in all I would say that to avoid any disappointment and to have the best experience go for a better room if you can run to it, unless of course you are only staying a couple of nights and you don’t mind what kind of room you get!

Room Tip: Go for the best you can afford to avoid disappointment.
