“Great hotel away a 5 minute walk from town...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2010

Mykonos was our first island stop after Athens. We were promptly taken to the hotel when we arrived on the high-speed ferry. Upon arrival at the hotel we were welcomed with orange juice (another couple received champagne?) and then taken to our room.
The rooms are small, minimalistic, and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Our balcony was very big and had a view of the port construction, the pool, and a partial view of Mykonos town. The only real complaint we had for the room was the very tiny shower...which overflowed onto the floor during your shower. I’ve heard this is the same at other hotels though. We kept our doors open to the balcony most of the time as our air-conditioner wasn’t very powerful, and the temperature outside was perfect (mid-70’s). We were a bit taken aback by how windy it was for our entire stay! It is somewhat noisy during the day with the doors open. At night we closed the outside doors which kept it very quiet. Breakfast is served in the lobby from 8-12 every day and it was very good. Lots of options, and you can use the free wi-fi there as well. The staff makes sure you always have refills for your coffee!

We were happy with the proximity to Mykonos town. We are big walkers, so the 5-10 minute walk into town wasn’t a big deal for us...on the way back it is uphill, and you also have to be very careful of the crazy taxi drivers who absolutely will not stop if you are in their way. We spent most of our time walking through town, shopping, and eating! Paradise Beach is about 20 minutes away via bus (you also have to walk to the bus stop), and we spent a nice afternoon there.

In early June, the pool was still very cold (my husband didn’t mind!), but we enjoyed ourselves on the very comfortable, very large lounges. They have a bar by the pool and very attentive bar staff.

just returned from this hotel.....staff very friendly and accomodated us with a room over the reception with views right across the bay. Previous reviews had complained about the bathroom we must have been very lucky because we had both bath and shower with a curtain...we were in room 246. The location is excellent about 7 mins walk to the port a bit longer on the way back due to the incline. My only real complaint is that the menu in the restaurant is very limited and the amount was very minimal. We only ate there one evening due to a very wet day , but I would strongly recommend eating in the port but choose the back streets which were slightly cheaper the port view ones are very expensive and prey on all the visitors from the cruise ships especially the Americans. Good restauranrs are FAT A MANO, MARCO POLOS and NIKOS. We were very disappointed with JOANNAS NIKO PLACE which had been recommended. All in all a lovely time was had , do think a week is long enough not much to see on Mykonos and also the need to be broadminded is a must...Mykonos is a gay island

This was our fourth visit to Mykonos and third stay with the fabulous staff at Porto Mykonos! No attention to detail was overlooked, including our favorite room and views of the town. It starts upon arival, greeted with a warm reception and chilled champagne and endless views. The staff, Eleni, Rula, Andy, Annon have customer service skills that are unmatched. Natalia and Louisa are the most entertaing maids I have ever met and deserve a raise. Ria and Mr. Adamantides must be extremely proud of your level of service and devotion to the business. We thank you for another fabulous time on Mykonos and look forward to another stay at Porto Mykonos! See you in 2011!

Yiasous!

I have to say that the overall experience here was incredible.

The hotel is gorgeous and set on a small layered terrace overlooking the Port of Mykonos and the Aegean Sea. The view from anywhere in the hotel is breath taking, just take a look at posted pictures (though they do not do it justice). The swimming pool and jacuzzi are magnificent.

The staff are very friendly, polite, prompt and attentive from the pool to the foyer to room service to the bar and wait staff. They seem genuinely happy with their job and are always helpful in whatever capacity is required.

The location of the hotel allowed us to walk to downtown Mykonos easily and enjoy whatever restaurants, shops, clubs, or bars we decided to frequent. When we decided to venture out farther, there were a number of car rental spots located very close by.

If you are visiting the Island of Mykonos, stay at the Porto Mykonos!

Porto Mykonos Hotel is within easy walking distance of Mykonos town. The hotel is modern with goood, comfortable accomodation and very friendly staff. Views are excellent from most rooms. Remember to ask the hotel to collect you at the airport as the public facilities are unpredictable

This hotel was great... The staff was super helpful with great recommendations. It is a 5-10 minute walk from Mykonos town center and 30-45 minutes walking from the beaches. This is actually an advantage though, because it provides a quieter area with a better view. Interfering with the view is some construction on the water. If you look straight out it is a gorgeous ocean view, but if you look down there is a view of a parking lot.
The rooms are very nice and provide robes and slippers. Our bathroom was pretty small with just a shower stall and no curtain. No big deal and we still had an amazing time. Breakfast was mediocre, but the breakfast room is gorgeous and the Veranda is amazing to lounge on. The pool area is also very nice.

Excellent resort, with great view. Stayed for 2 days and really enjoyed our time there. Even in pre-season it was fully occupied. Outdoor swimming pool is beauty.
