Mykonos was our first island stop after Athens. We were promptly taken to the hotel when we arrived on the high-speed ferry. Upon arrival at the hotel we were welcomed with orange juice (another couple received champagne?) and then taken to our room.
The rooms are small, minimalistic, and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Our balcony was very big and had a view of the port construction, the pool, and a partial view of Mykonos town. The only real complaint we had for the room was the very tiny shower...which overflowed onto the floor during your shower. I’ve heard this is the same at other hotels though. We kept our doors open to the balcony most of the time as our air-conditioner wasn’t very powerful, and the temperature outside was perfect (mid-70’s). We were a bit taken aback by how windy it was for our entire stay! It is somewhat noisy during the day with the doors open. At night we closed the outside doors which kept it very quiet. Breakfast is served in the lobby from 8-12 every day and it was very good. Lots of options, and you can use the free wi-fi there as well. The staff makes sure you always have refills for your coffee!
We were happy with the proximity to Mykonos town. We are big walkers, so the 5-10 minute walk into town wasn’t a big deal for us...on the way back it is uphill, and you also have to be very careful of the crazy taxi drivers who absolutely will not stop if you are in their way. We spent most of our time walking through town, shopping, and eating! Paradise Beach is about 20 minutes away via bus (you also have to walk to the bus stop), and we spent a nice afternoon there.
In early June, the pool was still very cold (my husband didn’t mind!), but we enjoyed ourselves on the very comfortable, very large lounges. They have a bar by the pool and very attentive bar staff.
