This is a very stylish hotel and the common areas are all laid out in minimalist / white on white style. You do get the impression of exclusivity as you enter and the views of and from the pool / bar / dining area are stunning (poo/bar area also plays great music which I loved). Service is also very good. However, we had a villa and I would have to say that the room/private pool area were not as stunning or as special as I had expected. I also HATED the fact that the bathroom area was completely open and you couldn't shower privately (I'm all for romance / intimacy but this was a step too far imo and last thing I want is to showe / use the was basin in full view of anyone I am travelling with. Overall, a nice stay and experience but I would count this as very poor value for money considering the rates they charge for August.

Don't let the tagline fool you...Cavo Tagoo is NOT a non-stop party but Mykonos Town is!
Upon our arrival, we were upgraded to a suite with private pool overlooking the ocean. What a great way to start our stay! The hotel offers a free shuttle to Mykonos Town 24hrs a day. This was extremely helpful and a great opportunity to have a gyro at 5am while waiting for the shuttle!

My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon in Greece, and stayed at Cavo Tagoo while we were in Mykonos. This was hands down the most amazing hotel we've stayed at, particularly due to the ambiance, service and wonderful staff. We were upgraded to a Golden Villa suite, which was a HUGE perk! The pool is breathtaking and the hotel in its entirety is gorgeous and serene. Even though it was not high season, we felt this was the PERFECT time to visit the hotel (even Lady Gaga was staying there!). The fantastic staff including Livu, Nikolais and Soto made the stay fun and entertaining, and they were 100% attentive! The hotel is also within walking distance of the town center, and a short drive to the beaches. LOVE LOVE LOVE Cavo Tagoo!!!

We traveled to Mykonos for our honeymoon.

Pros:
- nice location and overall environment
- very nice brunch
- nice friendly staff but not warm and fuzzy. Warm in a sterile way
- upgraded to a golden door suite

Cons:
- The specialty products they boast about on their website are subject to availability. For example: I asked three times for hair conditioner and was yes'd each time. Finally on the fourth request they said it was unavailable due to the "strike in Athens". There was none available in the gift shop for us to purchase. They suggested I try in town. For E540 a night, can't they go purchase it for the guest? Very disappointing.

- Beds not so comfy. Small bed and the hardest 2 pillows ever. Everyplace else in the hotel were ultra soft down pillows. Linens were thick and but not soft.

- It was towards the end of the season so as to be expected but the room was a little tired.
Both sinks had slow drains. The hot tub drain was slow and disassembled with no effort at all.

We as a family of 5 had booked two nights at the Cavo Tagoo. We were traveling from Santorini by ferry boat. Because of high winds all ferries were cancelled. We tried to get a flight with nothing available. Called Hotel to tell them we were stuck on Santorini with no way to get to Mykonos. Person on phone was so rude... did not care... Said we would have to pay for missing our boat. (no boats were going) Stayed in Santorini that night and tried to go to Mykonos next day. Again same situation. Called Cavo Tagoo, this time person could not find our reservation. After 1/2 hr on phone they said they would call back. Never called back. Never made it to Mykonos. Came home to a $1000.00 bill from Cavo Tagoo stating we were "No Shows"...Our travel agent also was trying to work with them and they were Stubborn-Rude-Non Accommodating. Going back to Greece next summer We will not even consider Cavo Tagoo. Talked to other travelers in same situation all were not charged for their hotel or given discount of some sort.

Cavo Tagoo was exactly what my wife and I expected when we first arrived. A very contemporary feel....almost dreamlike. The common areas were beautiful. Everything from the lobby to the infiniti pool and bar w/aquarium. The lady at the front desk congratulated us which was a big deal because the hotel we stayed at in santorini didn't even ackowledge the fact that we had just gotten married. We were escorted to our room which was more "vertical living" than we had expected and had a strange odor on the first floor. The private infiniti pool is really something amazing and I wish we could have enjoyed it more had we been there longer and the weather was warmer...but i still took advantage of it. The full room service menu is not available 24 hrs. which was a big disappointment when we returned at 1am one night and wanted a quick bite to eat. The front desk is very helpful in helping you arrange for scooter/car rentals or any other excursions you might be interested in. Also realize it's not walking distance to get to town. The hotel does have a van that will drop you off in town or you can rent a car/schooter. So if you want to feel like you're "in-town" and can step out of your hotel and be in the middle of everything this is not the place for you. I must say the sunset from our room was amazing...laying on pool chairs infront of our private infiniti pool, sipping on wine, eating chocolate, and just enjoying my wifes co. was amazing!

I'm sitting in the airport lounge in Athens having just left after five days in Cavo Tagoo, so the hotel is top of my mind. I agree with one of the previous reviewers that it has craftily positioned itself, concealing the bad and highlighting the good, with its well-chosen sneakily-enticing photography (I am a designer and my partner is a photographer so we know this stuff well). The clever angles and smart editing make it look MUCH better than it is in reality.

Positives first: it's OK, pretty, clean, simple, no tat or frills, nice use of materials in the lobby and some genuinely clever touches - the fishtank bar with stylized Mykonian fishing nets swinging overhead, great music, Buddah Bar-ish vibe, nice light, amazing sunset views. The owners have clearly channeled The Delano, Sanderson, Viceroy, the usual. The crowd was mixed, nice, relaxed, a mix of couples, gay and straight, honeymooners, chilled, not a big scene. The staff are nice enough, a bit vague, but they try hard – endlessly changing the many different-shaped white pillows and conceptual origami tablecloths in the lounge area must be a nightmare for them. Getting a second cup of coffee at breakfast was a hilarious struggle; we watched several people swipe the communal pots and hold onto them, but overall the breakfast buffet was great, the room service was fine. The cleaners were by far the most authentic, nice and hard-working people in the whole place; they went our of their way to be nice to everyone, and did a great job, the rooms were spotless. All-in-all, it was pretty impressed with itself as boutique hotels often are, but not awful. A bit “lightweight.”

BUT...it is on a busy highway corner, so beware. The "infinite" pool is not remotely infinite, but is, as the other reviewer said, cantilevered over the road and overlooked by coaches of people trundling by. The walk into town is treacherous in the extreme (avoid it), the private pools (which we had and regretted) are not at ALL private; in fact they are simply one long interconnected pool with dividers, chillingly cold. I never saw anyone plunge in any of them. Awkward sideways glances with your very-close suntanning neighbors are not uncommon. The rooms themselves are a bit tatty, much smaller then their fisheye pictures on the website, our Deluxe-with-Pool and many others we saw had an IKEA four-poster draped with bits of decorative Velcro’d cloth tape (we guessed for an abstract seaweed/nautical theme?) that we saw evidence of many previous tenants getting tangled in. We draped ours away, where it stayed all week, the cleaners not touching it either, not the first time this has happened we surmised: designer dooh-dahs that seemed good at the time but are hopeless in reality for the people using them. No shade on the balconies, we got an umbrella after begging. Pretty small shower, but OK. Achingly achingly slow internet: you could die waiting for Facebook to load. OK gym, but the spa is kept warm for massage, so the a/c is turned right down in the gym, making it sweltering hot: I went four times in five days and almost died of heat stroke each time.

Overall, nice enough, but really not worth the pretty high prices. Next time I would probably go to the Belvedere.
