I just spent six nights, May 22-28, 2013, at the Hotel Carbonaki, located in Mykonos Town. Its perfectly located in a quiet part of town yet only a minutes long walk, without hills, to the best food, fun and shopping the town has to offer. The hotel’s entrance is stylish, warm and inviting. I can’t say enough how wonderful the owners are. Mrs. Rousounelos mans the desk during the days. Staff members Ele comes in for the afternoon, and Alex at night. They are all wonderfully helpful and just delightful to encounter. My room was on the third floor of the main building. There are small three buildings with guest units, making for a cosy environment with common areas surrounding a small dipping pool. It was up some steps, to then walk up a small flight of stairs to the third floor. My room was large with two twins making a double bed.. Off the main room is the stylish modern bathroom, and then the door to the balcony. The balcony has chairs and tables and was my own wonderful up high view of town and the port. You can sunset from your large balcony. There is an in-room safe, TV, phone, and free wi-fi, maid service daily, fresh towels daily and complimentary soaps and shampoos. For an extra charge good simple breakfast is served daily. This hotel is a great value. It’s the place for the savvy traveler that wants a peaceful spotlessly clean and cool oasis in the heart of the fun. I highly recommend staying here. You will not regret this choice. I hope to get back for another stay soon. It’s a great find.

Nice, small, clean, modern, easy walking to almost everywhere from it, LOVELY OWNERS...
Given Mykonos expensiveness in accommodation, Carbonaki's prices are fairly normal & thus the value for the money spent on accommodation there is good!

My wife and I spent 4 nights here and had a very enjoyable stay. The room was very clean, modern and large. It is located away from the main part of town so it was quiet and peaceful but easy walking to everywhere. The staff and owners were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and we had so much to eat that we only needed a light lunch later on. The whole hotel and grounds were clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again.

i stayed here with two girls last summer. there were three beds in the room which was convenient, i don't remember the beds being super comfortable, but the room was very cute and just what we needed for our stay. the staff was very helpful. it is in close proximity to everything, walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping, etc, but a few blocks away where it is quiet enough if that is what you are looking for, because in mykonos..they party all night long, starting around 1am! but the hotel itself is quiet. if you're a girl traveling, don't even plan on wearing heels, i went out every night and brought all my heels end ended up wearing flats and wedges..the streets are cobblestone and windy, best to just forget them while ur there! we ended up partying at local bars rather than big clubs too where u have to take a bus too. the nightlife was the best anywhere but be prepared, as i said they party starting at 1 am till about 7 am, and then sleep till 3 and everyone heads to the beach for a few hours! you have to take a bus to the beach and buy bus tickets for i think only a dollar or two which you can catch locally. the beaches are all set up with tables and service...not where you just lay your towel out anywhere. we had friends who helped reserve a table, so otherwise i'm not sure how much they cost....and the party starts again as the sun sets right on the beach!! its awesome if you can keep up. there are a lot of good restaurants on the water and gyros at any time of the day. the shops are open at night too which is fun. definitely felt very safe here! no problems at all with safety. it is an amazing place to visit! and this hotel is definitely somewhere i would return

We stayed for 3 nights at the Carbonaki and found it a lovely little oasis from the heat and the crowds. After a ferry ride to the island that left us frazzled and exhausted (why is queuing nonexistent in Greece?), the taxi that the hotel had arranged for us did not arrive and we had to wait a good 1/2 hr before a free taxi did arrive. He then proceeded to charge us double the rate and refused to take less before giving us our luggage. As we struggled down the stone steps towards the B&B, my daughter's suitcase toppled over sideways and the handle broke off on one side. We eventually managed to drag ourselves into the hotel and were instantly greeted by the most friendly, helpful staff. They pulled out some tools and did their best to fix the suitcase handle, then took us to our beautiful room.

The room was truly an oasis, very clean, good ac system that quickly cooled the room, comfortable beds, big modern bathroom. The room was very quiet and we had great sleeps. There were people next door, but we couldn't hear anything more than the door opening or closing. We were on the main level and we couldn't hear people above us, either. We sat out on the patio by our door, and also at the larger patio by the mini pool, nice and peaceful in the evening.

Breakfast was wonderful, plenty of selection, and we ate outside every morning. All staff were eager to please and quickly attended to our every need, Panos gave us some great restaurant recommendations. the wifi didn't always work, but we took our laptop down to one of the restaurants on the waterfront the advertised free wifi. For the price of a cup of tea, were were able to use the Internet.

The location is great, easy access to all parts of Mykonos by walking a short ways. It was fun to wander in the twisty pathways, you can't get too lost as the town is relatively small. After 3 days of wandering around Mykonos and getting our bearings, we were able to walk with our luggage to catch the ferry (old port), rather than bothering with another taxi. It was also a short walk to either the taxi stand or bus terminal to travel to other parts of the island (the bus takes you to all beaches and is cheap).

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground level, very quiet, any of their rooms would be good.

Loved this little hotel! Even though our room took a little to be ready, the staff is really pleasant and make you feel at home. You can walk everywhere, it's in a great location, near all the fuss but still quiet. There's a little pool/tub, not sure, that I didn't really use. The room is really comfortable and modern.
But have breakfast elsewhere. They charge too much and I didn't like the orange juice.
