This hotel was basic, but had everything we could've wanted as travelers on a budget. It was in a great location and allowed us to easily explore the wonderful Mykonos!

Carbonaki was a great place to stay in Mykonos. Like many small hotels, it's hard to find, on a stairway/path, not what Americans would call a street. So ask for location. Once found, it turns out to be very close (3 minute walk) to the old port, where there are many restaurants and other amenities. The hotel is very interesting architecturally, a charming Escher-like maze of levels and patios, white against the blue sky. The owner was terrific, very friendly, personally making our breakfast when we had an early ferry departure. The room was very clean and nice, only on the small side. It got a little stuffy, but the a/c worked fine, and we were very comfortable. We would absolutely stay there again.

We found this hotel based the overwhelmingly positive reviews here on TA and were not disappointed. Making reservations was very easy. The owner, Theodore, communicated with us in a timely manner and provided useful information. The nights we stayed were in the middle of a rate change (98 Euro the first night and 68 Euro the second night) and Theodore offered us the lower rate for both nights! The hotel and rooms were clean and kept in good condition. We were on the top floor and had use of the rooftop chairs. As others have mentioned, the pool was not so clean but but we didn't book this hotel for the pool. Numerous restaurants and the main square were a short walk away. Although we would recommend this hotel to others visiting Mykonos, we would much prefer to return to Santorini instead of Mykonos.

We booked this room after scouring TripAdvisor and were very pleased with what it offered. Many of the previous reviews warn about the "pool," and they're right, it's not really a pool, more of a wishing pond. We weren't in Greece for their pools, however, so this was not a factor in our decision. Overall, the hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and its location was perfect--right in the middle of the action. And a quick note on the bathroom--beautiful with a shower stall (which will be appreciated by American travelers!). Great price/value, especially for Mykonos, which tends to be pricier than some of the other islands! We made great friends and would definitely stay here again! (Camera flash broke so no photos, but those I've seen online are accurate and may not even do it justice!)

This is a lovely retreat in the heart of Mykonos. The location is very quiet, but in less than 5 minutes you are in the heart of the buzz. We are still looking for the steep hill you have to walk to get to the hotel which we read about in one of the reviews....
My husband was a little worried as we could not find any info on the hotel outside of tripadvisor - but you don't need to look any further, this is a great choice!

Great location, 2 minute walk to the restaurants along the water, 5 minute walk to bus stop, 5 minute walk to bars/clubs. The owner (Theodore) and wife were very nice and helpful. Very clean.
