“Great stay and unforgettable staff”
Reviewed 2 August 2012

We spent 1 week at Aeolos Hotel and we had an amazing stay !
1st surprise : "upgrading" into the brand new part of the hotel opened only a few days before our arrival with an amazing view on sunset, a great swimming-pool and excellent prestations into the room.
We'd also particularly appreciated the kindness of all the staff of the hotel, always available to help us to have the best experience possible on this wonderful island : beaches, restaurants, vehicle renting, etc ...
A very special comment on Panos (Aeolos' owner) : we travelled all around the world for years, and even in 5 stars hotels we never met someone like Panos.
Always smiling, ready to help you and give you advices on HIS island. He's the kind of people that helps to change your trip from great to unbelievable !!!
Thank you for this great stay at Aeolos Hotel and warm recommandation to all Tripadvisor's users.

Having searched for a hotel in Mykonos for literally weeks, we finally chose the Hotel AEOLOS - even though we had been searching for a 4 or 5*. We chose the AEOLOS based upon the fact that all of the Mykonos hotels rated at 4 and 5* had such a huge variation in Trip Advisor reviews whilst the AEOLOS was universally praised by its customers. And how true this was to be!

From the moment you arrive at the Airport and met by AEOLOS staff, it is clear that you are dealing with a highly motivated, extremely personable and professional operation. During the drive from the airport, we were shown where key services (Pharmacy, Markets etc) and main routes to/from town were located.

This impression continues at reception where we were delighted with the welcome from Panos - the owner and driving force behind his extremely loyal team. Panos gave a full brief on hotel amenities including free wi-fi, Pool times, (real) breakfast times, and use of the out-door Jacuzzi. He also presents you with a pre-marked map of the town and Island, details on how to get to beaches, and additional services (moped/quad-bike/car hire).

The traditionally out-fitted rooms include efficient air-conditioning, black-out curtains, a full size fridge (for fruit, beer, vodka, tonic and of course Ice), a flat-screen TV, hair-dryer and very adequate storage space (which includes a safe).

The rooms are large, the balcony/patio generous and the en-suite toilet/shower-room (wet-room) is functional if not generous.

The pool area is generous - includes a large number of comfortable, sturdy sun-loungers, fixed sun-parasols and a good size pool which is next to a 2-4 person Jacuzzi.

Next to the pool and reception is a well-stocked bar which also serves a wide variety of snacks, salads and hot-food direct to your lounger (if you require) or to one of the many tables and chairs arranged at the bottom end of the pool. The reception and bar are open 24 hours to hotel guests, and unlike many of Mykonos hotels and bars, is extremely good value for money. Of course, cash didn't change hands during our stay as the bar runs a 'chit-system' where your expenditure is recorded and added to your final bill. My estimate is that food and drink was HALF the price of everywhere else and portions and drinks measures are extremely generous.

Breakfast at the hotel is a buffet affair with seating inside and out. The selection includes cold-meats, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, Greek Yoghurt, honey, Bread / Toast and preserves complimented by Tea / Coffee and juice. As someone on a 'low-carb' lifestyle there was ample choice for me, which was refreshing!

The excellent serving staff also include a very considerate cleaning staff who were extremely patient with our variable rising hours and movement patterns. Fresh towels and linen were provided at sensible intervals and the entire room was left in an immaculate state every day.

So what were the down-sides? Very little to be honest. The hotel is situated next to a very good Ice-cream parlour, and within walking distance to a large (Mykonos 'large') super-market, helpful pharmacy and the bus stop to Elia beach. It is however also located within 3km to the Airport, so you may find yourself occasionally disturbed by Easyjet if you're relaxing by the pool - but in fact the flight-path goes right over Mykonos Town and all of the hotels situated there, so this is not unusual. We were not disturbed by aircraft noise in the room and generally only heard them 2-3 times during the day - usually after lunch - so this is a minor point.

More generally, if you are a particularly mature or delight in lots of food versus little exercise, Mykonos may not be the best place to visit, as it is effectively built on the side of a 1 in 4 to 1 in 3 hill. Whilst the Aeolos was only 800m from the Town, it is a long climb up uneven path-ways at the end of an otherwise delightful evening. But again - any hotel you stay at which promises beautiful views, is similarly situated on the side of the same 'hill' which is Mykonos!

All in all, having visited other hotels in Mykonos while we were there, I would choose the AEOLOS again and again! The level of service is unprecedented! The team are as friendly and professional as you could possibly hope for; the operation runs with military precision where it counts whilst remaining flexible and amenable to the needs of the customer.

I salute PANOS and the team, wish them every success for the future and urge every person who is thinking of travelling to Mykonos to seriously consider staying at the HOTEL AEOLOS - you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: Whilst a west-view room will give you a beautiful sunset, it may also subject you to the Northerly w...

Had a lovely stay at Aeolos Hotel. Panos and team are very helpful and friendly, collecting and dropping guests off at the airport, port as well as other locations. Rooms are clean and spacious with great balconies and views of the lovely pool and sea.

Aeolos Hotel was the perfect place to stay in Mykonos. From the moment Panos, the charming and hospitable owner, picked us up at the airport (transfers to and from the hotel are included in the price) we knew we were in good hands. Our room was simple, but spotlessly clean, the swimming pool was heavenly, the living room and bar areas were comfortable and welcoming, breakfast was great - and we even received a goodbye gift of a bottle of very nice Greek wine. Aeolos Hotel is located a little bit outside of the center of Mykonos, which makes it a quiet choice for sleeping. There's a path down to town - and you can grab a cab for the return trip if you don't feel like walking back uphill. The hotel is very reasonably priced, and Panos makes you feel like you're at home.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the sea at the back of the hotel and we loved being there - but other peop...

I stayed in Aeolos Hotel for 4 nights. The room was very tidy and comfortable. The most important point is the staff because they were extremely helpfull for everything. The map with circled details was ready when I arrived. I would like to thank especially to Panos ( the owner) for all his assistance, kindly attitudes and his kindly transfers to the port for the ferry and to the airport. There was also a free computer that had free wi-fii which was very important for me to follow my mails. There is also a nice swimming pool and a jacuzi if you like.It is only 10min to the center. Next time I hope to stay again with my friends as soon as possible.

Upon arrival in Mykonos, the owner (Panayiotis) collects you (and drops you off) from the airport. We were welcomed with a free bottle of wine which we enjoyed at the lovely swimming pool. During our first night in Mykonos I forgot my mobile in a taxi and Panayiotis went out of his way for a long time until he managed to have my mobile found and returned which was a real LIFE SAVER! Swimming pool area is nice and relaxing with a jacuzzi close by the pool. Service is fantastic and all staff are very helpful.
Our room was comfortable and very clean. Throughout our stay we were advised and helped with everything we needed and Panayiotis recommendations for restaurants down town were perfect!
We loved our stay at Aeolos and we strongly recommend it!
