“Good but not great”

This hotel was good in comparisons to others I have stayed at across similar years but it had it's downsides. On arrival to the port in mykonos we were picked up by the manager of the hotel. He was very nice and very helpful. We picked up some other travellers and headed to the hotel. After check in we were shown to our room and I have to say it smelled really bad in there. It was so strong at one point both my husband and myself were gagging. The bathroom was okay. It was small. We suspected that the stench was coming from the bathroom so we opened the small window in there (that overlooked the street I might add) and we left it for a bit with the toilet seat closed and went out for the night hoping it would improve. When we returned it was still the same. We told the manager and he was nice enough to go out and get some air freshener for us but this still didn't help. We decided to just deal with it and keep the window open in the bedroom as much as we could. Doing this helped a bit but with the heat you can imagine what it was like coming back to our room after being out all day. In addition out room was exactly in the entryway to the hotel so pretty much anyone could access our room from the street through our window when we left it open. Due to this we kept all our valuable belongings locked away. This was inconvenient. The breakfast at the hotel was continental. It was very average and nothing special. The bar prices were okay they weren't super cheap but not ridiculously expensive. Pretty standard for a hotel. The location of the hotel was in a good spot. You had to walk downhill a long pathway to get into town if you didn't have a scooter or an atv to get to the other side. Beware of the walk back to the hotel though. It is uphill and not so fun in the sun if you go middle of the day. The staff were nice especially the lady who served at the bar. The hotel provided towels for the pool if necessary. The pool area was not great. There was not enough shade for those who didn't want to be in the sun and there was not enough sun lounges to go around. People would reserve a sun lounge by putting their towel there and then not come back for hours leaving other to tan on the ground or to just sit in the pool. To be honest I didn't like being there during the day as there wasn't enough spaces to lay out and it was too crowded. Also when we were hot and wanted to retreat to the room the smell was so bad it was hard to concentrate on anything else. The tv in the room was also so small and had very limited channels (2). It was not even worth putting it on. The hotel did have a laundry service that was pretty fast which I did appreciate. We booked a twin room if that helps and we asked for a nice view. The wifi was very slow and only worked if you were near the modem near the reception area or by the pool. All in all, this hotel wasn't bad. The friendly staff made up for the negatives but we won't be staying there again.

My husband and I stayed at the Damianos Hotel for our honeymoon. The owner so generously picked us up at the airport. From check in we knew it would be a great stay. They gave us the info and set up our ATV rental and happily let us check in early. Breakfast each morning was delicious w a great view of Mykonos town. It was walking distance to the town and an easy ATV ride to all the beaches and clubs. The entire stay was wonderful and the views from the patio outside our room was amazing! Although we are more beach people, the pool was beautiful! We highly recommend this hotel and would love to return!

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our Island hoping holiday. As soon as you arrive you are struck by the fantastic location. High on the hill above Mykonos town looking town over the old-town. A wonderful pool, with luxury sun-loungers and chilled music playing, I would high recommend this hotel for those people wanting to visit mykonos, but who want to stay somewhere relaxed and quite enough to sleep! Mykonos is a very busy island packed with tourists. The rooms are fairly average for a hotel of this size, but with huge beds and international TV channels. Breakfast was included and is extensive: Hams and Cheese, yoghurt and cereal, eggs, cake, bread and croissants, taken on a beautiful patio overlooking the ocean. The only downside is the walk down into the town, many steps, and although it only takes around 10-15 minutes, its a hard labour in the heat of the day and even the night.

The Damianos Hotel is a small boutique hotel that I assume is family run. The room we rented included door-to-door transportation to and from the airport, which was very convenient. A word of caution for those of you considering renting a room at a hotel within the city center, you will likely be carting your luggage from a drop off point to your hotel through narrow, winding, and crowded paths/streets; as most vehicles are prohibited from driving through the city center. Damianos Hotel conveniently has airport door-to-door transportation. This is a big plus if you have a lot of luggage.

Damianos Hotel is conveniently steps away from one of the main bus lines going to and from some of the island's beaches. As an example, if you plan on going to Elia Beach every day, then this hotel will suit you well. When we were on the island, the cost for the bus was 1.90 Euros each direction and you pay the driver upon boarding. For those of you not interested in the beach, the hotel offers a small pool for your enjoyment.

The customer service and the views of the harbor are definitely five stars. The morning breakfast included with our package was adequate. Every breakfast comprised of two cold cereals, milk, tomatoes, cheeses, breads, fresh fruit, and several other items to choose from. This is a self-service buffet style breakfast. Do not expect a large made to order breakfast.

The room my friend and I rented was adequate. It consisted of two twin sized beds that I personally would consider more along the lines of a comfortable cot. There was limited room for our luggage and storage of our clothes. Thus, we both had to literally resort to living out of our suitcases. The "partial sea view" was seen by sitting on our exterior patio, and not visible from our actual room. Our room contained a safe, which allowed us to store our valuable items, and also had air conditioning.

Upon check out, the hotel offers storage of luggage. In addition, if you are leaving later in the day, the hotel conveniently offers a public shower to freshen up prior to your departure. Wi-Fi access was included in the rate we paid, and neither of us had problems using the Wi-Fi from our room or in common areas.

When considering this hotel, be aware that it sits high up a hill on the outer portion of Mykonos Town. Your walk into Mykonos Town is downhill, but your return is all uphill. Visualize it as a walk up one of San Francisco’s steep streets. Since our travels were during July, this meant we essentially needed a shower and wardrobe change each time we walked up the hill during the day. If you are unfamiliar with the island, at night, this hotel could potentially be difficult to find (I discovered this myself); as with most of the island, there is a lack of road/street signs to direct you. In addition, the amount of light along the paths becomes more limited the closer you are to the hotel. Thus, I would advise taking a flashlight with you at night. Additionally, the path to and from the hotel is not paved, and you need to mind your step to ensure proper footing.

Another benefit of this hotel compared to ones closer to town, is there is limited noise. I heard from many people staying within Mykonos Town that they had difficulty sleeping because the island truly does not sleep. I personally observed a very active nightlife. So, if you are looking for quite, this might be your hotel.

Room Tip: Sometimes I could hear noise from the adjacent kitchen while in the bathroom of room 15. I did not h...

Adorable view at Aegean sea!
This hotel is near Hora of Mykonos about 600m.
Rooms are clear enough.
Best tip the sea view from the Terrase.
Swimimg pool is not big ,just for relax!
Breakfast should be better.
It is a good choice if u want to be near to Hora and at the same time quiet enough!!

A very nice family hotel in Mykonos. Thanos (hotel owner) picked us from port, arranged transportation to the airport, always willing to assist.
The rooms are very comfortable (WiFi included), a very nice pool overlooking the port of Mykonos. There is a lazy corner with sun beds and pillows where you can spend the day after or before heading to next beach party.
The pool area is very welcoming and cozy. Breakfast is more than sufficient and you can always have snack and drinks around the pool area.

This hotel is faultless. The staff are extremely friendly, the food fantastic and the drinks very reasonably priced. During our stay we couldn't gave been made to be felt more welcome. I highly recommend, in fact I cannot think of a negative 10/10!

Room Tip: All are good but perhaps go for a sea view
