“Great overall experience”
Reviewed 27 August 2008

My 3 girlfriends and I (mid-20s) went to Mykonos for the beaches and nightlife, and were looking for a moderately-priced hotel. We loved hotel Omiros! The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable. There is also a great outdoor bar area to read, sleep, or chat. We had a balcony right outside our two rooms with an amazing view. Since the restaurants in town were a bit pricey, we bought food at the supermarket on our way home and ate dinners out on the balcony, before heading back out to the bars. The staff was always friendly, sincere, and accomodating, as if we had been friends for years. Yiannis gave us some good advice on ATV rentals, etc and his mother was very sweet and friendly. Vasilis always greeted us with a smile. The hotel is a short walk to Mykonos town, you do have to walk up a hill but it is not a big deal if you are in reasonably good shape. We spent three nights there before moving on to Santorini, but could have easily stayed another 3.

We booked the Omiros Hotel in Mykonos based on the great reviews from this site and it lived up to expectations and more! Originally, we only planned to stay for 1 week, but it was such a nice place that we ended up staying for almost 2 weeks. This hotel has so much character and is built on the side of the hill with breathtaking views from most of the terraces. A great spot to sit on your terrace and watch the incredible sunsets with a glass of wine! The energy this place gives off is so amazing and calming. From the moment you arrive, an instant calmness comes over you right away. The rooms are very clean (recently renovated) and the simple decor really suits this boutique paradise get-away . The location is perfect - just a 10 minute walk to town. I was also impressed at how reasonable the rooms are for such a great spot. The owner Yiannis is a true gentleman and was very hospitable. From the moment he picked us up from the airport, to the time we left, he was such a great host. He has a great support staff, and everyone went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time - including his amazing mom. All I can say is if you are considering going to Mykonos, the Ominos hotel is a MUST! A very special place that will leave you wanting to come back for more!!!

If you are renting a car, also check with Yiannis, he knows some good places to rent from. We made a mistake and went out on our own when we first for there. STAY AWAY from DELOS car rental at the bottom of the hill. The owner from Delos car rental is a real crook! I lost the key for a Smart car we rented and the cantankerous owner charged us 450 Euro for it.

I spent a week at this hotel with a party of 15 whilst celebrating my birthday and it ranks amongst my best holidays so far. I would recommend this place to anybody - from people in their twenties to my parents. This hotel really feels like you are staying at your own place while someone else is taking care of everything - mykonos is a party place with amazing energy and you need a place like Omiros hotel to relax and unwind after a day on the beach before you head for some proper night life.

The rooms are basic but sparkling clean every single day - the view from the terrace cannot be trully captured by any camera., especially sunset time. Walking to town takes about 10 minutes, returning a bit longer as it is uphill but quite doable. There is ample parking space just outside the hotel entrance.

The bar is open throughout the day and most of the night - you can't fault the cheese omellette of Vassilis or the conversations over beers and wine at the bar. Breakfast can be served at any time of the day, you just turn up at the bar and you are being served coffee within seconds... Both room rates and bar prices are below Mykonos average and thus great value given the top quality service. Everybody working at the hotel is extremely friendly and relaxed, while at the same time taking care of everything in what seems like an effortless way - true Mykonian style...

I'm definitely back next year to celebrate my 30th and hopefully many more to come... who's up for it? ;-)

Our family of four (parents and 2 children, ages 10 & 12) spent two nights at the Omiros at the end of June. Our room was fantastic., Yiannis was a terrific host. He picked us up at the port when our ferry arrived, provided us good recommendations for places to eat in town, he told me how to catch the boat to Delos and lent me a travel book that described the ruins and history, he recommened family friendly beaches to my wife and kids and gave them a map and directions to the bus stop, and when we left, he insisted on carrying our bags up the many steps to get to his car.
His hotel is very cozy and relaxing. The walk down the hill to town didn't seem that long to us, nor did the walk back up when we returned. It seemed to be just the right amount after having dinner in town.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We Stayed at Omiros Hotel Mykonos on 9&10 June 08. The hotel owner, Yiannis, picked us up in the pier and he was very nice to greet us even though the ferry delayed for more than one hour. The hotel is very elegant and the room is not big but it is very clean, tidy with an atmosphere like a home. The hotel sea view is excellent. we could also enjoy the quiet stay in Mykonos that I couldn't enjoy if I chose to stay in the Mykonos Town. The hotel is just located at 8-10 min walking distance from Mykonos down town. Yiannis actively told us lot of information about the island. The resturants he recommended are all vey delicious. Yiannis also shared with us the life of Mykonos people that we can know the Mykonos culture in addition to the scene. Yiannis's staff, Vasaili, is also very kind & helpful, he even helped us to make the pasta for our dinner.

When we needed to catch the plane at 7:00am in the morning, we asked Yiannie to reserve a Taxi for us. Finally, Yiannis decided to drive us to airport at 6:00am so that he needed to wake up very early. We were so touching!!!!

It is a wonderful hotel with the best customer service and I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to visit Mykonos.
