“Lovely hotel with the most knowledgeable owner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2009

Arrived by FlyCat4 from Santorini, Yiannis (the e hotel owner) picked us up from the port. Although the ferry was late, Yiannis waited for us anyway.

The hotel was about 7 - 10 minutes walk to Mykonos Town. Taking taxi back from the Taxi square costed about €3 - €3.50. We were impressed with the terrace of the hotel, the view was so so beautiful. Yiannis had plenty of recommendations with regards to local restaurants, attractions and so on. Mykonos is expensive, you would appreciate the local knowledge that Yiannis has to offer. We didnt disapoint with the recommendations Yiannis gave us at all.

On our last day, one of our friends had to go the airport very early in the morning. The taxi didnt show and Yiannis had offered my friend a lift to the airport! I was so thankful he did that or else my friend would have missed her flight! I think it is pretty rare to get such service after you have checked out.

In conclusion, I would like to recommend this hotel to anyone who looks for an accomodation that is good value for money.

We went in a group of six 20-something girls for a vacation and could not have asked for a better place to stay! Yiannis is a wonderful person with a beautiful family and he made our trip fantastic. Everything about this place is great, the pick up and drop off from the port, homemade breakfast, the rooms, the view, the sunset and the advice and help from Yiannis about the island. Stay here for sure if you are traveling to Mykonos.

Beautiful views from the patio - overlooks the town and amazing sunset. Yiannis and his family are wonderful and will go out of their way to make you comfortable and ensure you have a wonderful time in Mykonos. The hotel is a close walk to town and just far enough away that it is quiet at night. Highly recommend!!

My wife and I stayed two nights in room 1 below the main floor. Overall, the hotel provided a good base for our short stay in Mykonos. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Mykonos Town where all the nightlife is. However, you need to take some form of transportation to access the most popular beaches on the island. This is normal since the better beaches are far away from the main town where most of the hotels are located. The room is basic with a typical small European bathroom, a double bed, fridge and semi-private balcony. The view from the balcony is impressive although it partially overlooks a temporary construction site. On the downside, the bed was a bit uncomfortable and soundproofing could be improved. The owner Yiannis was very helpful in recommending inexpensive restaurants and was kind enough to pick us up at the port and drive us to the airport on our way out. In the end, this is a good value hotel for Mykonos that offers basic accommodations, a good location and a warm welcome at a reasonable price.

This is my 5th trip to Greece and I can honestly say that the Omiros is the best hotel I have stayed in on any island in Greece. My wife and I stayed at the Omiros two years ago with a group of friends and we remembered it so fondly that we visited it for our first year wedding anniversary.

The rooms are clean with beautiful views and the outdoor lobby is a lovely place to have coffee and meet other travelers, if you want. The owner/manager Yiannis is great fun and has become a friend. He really knows how to take care of his guests, makes great suggestions and keeps the ouzo flowing. We also got to know his great family! The hotel is ideally located for the nightlife in the city and a short ride from most of the beaches on Mykonos.

If you are going to Mykonos make the Omiros your number 1 place to stay. Yianni, if you are reading this, thanks so much for a wonderful time and am looking forward to visiting your pool next year!

My friend Heidi and I just got back from this perfect hotel!!! From the minute Yiannis met us at the ferry, he was so helpful and a wealth of information!! He gave us a map of where to go, places to see and eat that are good and reasonable. The walk from our hotel to the heart of Mykonos was only 10 minutes but seemed alot shorter. The views from our balcony were breathtaking! The great breakfasts made by his mother..(sorry Yiannis your sweet Mom's was better) ;-) You really felt like a good friend at this hotel. I would tell everyone to stay here because I know you would have just as good of a experience that we did. We are already planning out trip next summer to stay with Yiannis and family. I can't wait...if I could book and come next week again I would!!! FILAKIA POLLA (MANY KISSES) YIANNIS

We could not be happier with our stay at Hotel Omiros. From the time that Chris picked us up at the airport till the time he brought us to the cataman to leave for Santorini we were treated with friendly and helpful service. We were thrilled to find that we had a fabulous terrace with a spectacular view of the harbor, a quiet and spotlessly clean room, great breakfasts prepared to our liking by Chris himself, in a quiet spot that was absolutely beautiful. When we arrived Yannis gave us a helpful map along with an introduction to restaurants which proved to be excellent choices. Omiros is truly a little gem for anyone who is looking for a simple but unforgettable experience hosted by wonderful people.
