When in mykonos you have to pass by this street. It is the gate for shops, bars and restaurants. In addition to the shopping aerea. Too many shops, but i didn't find anything important to buy. Prices are expensive and no good marks. But it is nic to walk along.

One of the best places to pass by when you go to Mykonos! Definitely recommended! Good places, nice people!

Yes, this is "just" a shopping area, yet it's more than that. The beautiful, narrow, winding street takes you past one unique and picturesque shop after another. The white-washed buildings adorned with blue trim house artisan shops, cafes, and nightclubs. We had fun looking at all the seafood on display and choosing where we'd eat at night. You never know what you'll come across here. We also came upon a camera crew waiting for someone (important?) to emerge from their apartment, but didn't wait around long enough for the person to show. If you arrive by ship, I highly, highly recommend the shuttle for 9 Euros round trip. It would be quite a long walk. One downfall is that the prices are quite a bit higher here than on other islands.

Matoyianni Street is the place to see and be seen. Directly on Matoyianni Street is Lotus Garden (Elsa is fabulous). Dine at the first table nearest to the street (it's a walkway/path since cars are not allowed in town) and watch the world go by up close and personal. Great shopping - not many restaurants on this street but it is "main" street.
