We arrived in Mykonos Town and were unpleasantly surprised that it lacked the restraint and beauty of all of the other places we had just been...Chania, Crete; Oia, Santorini; Naoussa, Paros....

Luckily we stumbled upon White Star soon after getting off the bus in Mykonos Town. Neither of us were in the mood to spend a lot on an expensive dinner, but after looking at the menu with the hostess and hearing about the Michelin-starred chef, we changed our mind.

We are glad we did. The experience at White Star was extremely memorable. The restaurant is beautiful, very modern and clean, with everything in white and wood tones. The staff treated us like gold.

The food was very good, with a bit of average mixed in. The cuttlefish soup was incredible! Absolutely delicious. The calamari was also so flavorful. I loved the cabbage leaves with shrimp as well. Our absolute favorite however, was the thin slices of crispy bread with eggplant. It was like nothing I've ever had before, and so tasty! The one dish we go that left a bit to be desired was the salmon appetizer. It was very plain and something you could really have at home.

What made the meal was the sommelier. She really knew her stuff! She helped us find an oak-barreled white wine and we absolutely loved it. She also assisted us with after-dinner drinks. Needless to say we were quite drunk by the end of our meal! We had a great time talking to her throughout the meal, and learning all about the wines.

Definitely head over to White Star if you are in need of a calm, tasty respite in Mykonos.

We shared the black cuttlefish soup, shrimp ragu pappardelle pasta , both amazing. Pesto calamari also nice! Good service, great vibe.

Yes it was lovely and the restaurant is fantastic but the main course wasn't memorable, sadly.
The prawn in white wine sauce did, however, stand out and was delicious but my fish main seemed to be in the same sauce?

Perhaps it was an off night, but I was expecting something a lot more memorable.

Truly an amazing experience! White Star is by far the coolest place in town. It combines everything that makes a restaurant exceptional: Superb food, excellent service and the right ambiance. It's obvious that everything has been thought of and executed with care. Lights, music, decor. It all blends together beautifully. But that's only part of it. What really stands out is the food. Start with the black soup - a creamy blend of cuttlefish with chunks of shrimp, no wonder it's a signature dish for the restaurant. Don't miss the urchin salad if you have a taste for it, the White Star blend is the best. Then there's the lavraki (seabass) carpaccio, another exceptional creation by the chefs. For main courses my suggestion would be to let the expert staff explain the dishes and make recommendations. On one of the nights we visited, the restaurant was introducing new meat dishes. So glad we added the steak paillard to our other dishes. No question the kitchen can deliver high standards at everything they create.
My only regret is not spending more nights in Mykonos for more White Star experiences.
(one more thing: ask Theologia for wine choices...she knows exactly what goes best with the food). Enjoy.

While in Mykonos for only 5 nights the attention to detail, the food, the service, the atmosphere, as well as the exceptional wine list that White Star provides brought us back for a second night. This is not just a restaurant, it is a dining experience. From the moment we were greeted at the door to the perfect recommendations of the in-house sommelier, Theologia, and the very knowledgeable wait staff, the whole experience was truly five star. White Star must be experienced when in Mykonos.
