“Nice hotel but not the nicest area”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

We started off at check in counter in a very "rocky way". When we booked the room we did ask for early check in but off course we can understand if this is not possible. But we would at least expect the room to be ready by 2pm as promissed several times during our hours of waiting. What we did not understand was that the Greek guests in "our" room were accepted a late check out by 2pm so we did not get our room until 3pm. We were offered to use the pool while waiting for the room but all sunbeds were occupied! The day after we received a bottle of wine and some fruit - they never said they were sorry only that it was not nice to ask the other guest to leave(our) room. We accepted the wine and the fruit as saying "we are sorry".
The rest of the stay was great. The rooms in this hotel are clean and the breakfast excellent. The staff are very nice, they Work as a team and they do their best to keep the guest happy.
Unfortunately there are not sunbeds for all guest when the hotel is full. People get up early in the morning and "reserve" sunbeds which they don't use until many hours later. We just don't understand why the staff do not remove the towels!
The hotel is a long walk away from the old town and the busstop is up hill all the way. Not a problem for us but it may be for some people.
The hotel has a car they rent out for approx EURO 50.00 per day. The car was not cleaned when we got it. It would have been nice if somebody had cleaned it before we got it. However, I would suggest other guests to rent the car to be able to see other (nicer) area around Corfu Town and Corfu Island. The Island is pretty and there is much to see and the hotel is not situated in a very nice area. However, the garden and the pool at the hotel is very nice and there is a wall around the site.

Honestly can't rate this place highly enough. Clean, beautifully decorated, brilliant breakfast and the staff on reception honestly knew EVERYTHING! Had two gorgeous meals on the pool side at night and found the bus really nice and easy to get to town. The best hotel I have ever stayed in. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

We spent a week at the Corfu Mare in June 2014 which wasn't long enough! The hotel is beautiful and immaculately clean. We had a Superiour room which certainly lived up to it's name. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. A good selection of food at the hotel, with vegetarian options available. The gym was well equiped and there was plenty of space around the pool area. Town was a fair walk away but the bus service was very good and taxis reasonably priced. IWell worth a return visit

We stayed here for a couple of nights in July before going to Paxos. The hotel itself is good - nice pool, bar area and rooms. Towels on sunbeds was a bit of a hassle but not a dealbreaker.

Our main bugbear was the 30 minute walk to town and we're quite fit - we met another older couple who were struggling and not liking the 10 euro taxi fare each way.

We cam back for a night after Paxos and were upgraded which was very welcome. All in all would recommend but just be wary of the distance from the town.

We are currently in the Corfu Mare for 7 nights. It's exceptional in every way. Below are our ratings:

1. Staff - exceptional in every way. The manager Youillo is fantastic at her job and should be commended. all staff are so helpful and efficient go above and beyond to help and advise you so you have a wonderful holiday.

2. Location - in a quiet residential area about 30 mins walk to old town. ( out of hotel turn right, walk up hill, then left and straight all the way Into old town) Bus stop 5 mins walk away and cost 1.10e tickets can be bought at reception. Taxi 8 euro from Corfu town to hotel.

3. Hotel - one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. immaculate in all areas. Rooms beautiful, very clean, modern furnishings, gorgeous showers. Free powerful air con and additional mini bar in room. Nice balcony. Excellent free wifi signal from reception and pool area.
Lovely bar staff serving drinks and snacks and evening meals round the pool at night this is very romantic. No fret for sunbeds any time of day, and pool area very Serene with no kids. Breakfast buffet - plenty of choice continental and hot.

Resturants near by - out of hotel turn left down hill. Left at end and walk along a row of resturant sand bars. Mylos (all white resturant) serves the most amazing homemade Greek food, at a very reasonable price. We had a starter, 2 main course and a half carafe of wine and it was 30 euros for both of us. Quality of the food was superb, we had stifaldo and stifardo both were amazing. Definitely worth a try.

Bruno's is lovely for fish dishes.

There's also a beautiful place serving sweet and savoury Crepes worth a try and a pizzeria close by.

In old town- lots of wonderful tavernas and Greek bakeries. To many to name... The home made pizza, cheese pies are beautiful also are the ( pork and chicken gyros) the traditional servers of these go at about 2.20 euro for pork or chicken in a homemade pitta with chips sauce and salad and are a beautiful Greek delight. Corfu old town at night is very pretty and full of atmosphere...... Definitely worth going to. It's gets busier after 9:30.

In summary - if you need a peaceful retreat out of the hustle bustle and child free. You will love this place. It's easy to get to town if you need to. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will definitely come back. We are continuing to have a superb time which is made that way by the hotel , staff and surroundings. It's a gem ! Can't praise it highly enough ! Keep up the excellent work !

We spent two weeks at the Corfu Mare and we weren't disappointed. Everything about the hotel was excellent and exactly what we wanted. We had a room with a lovely pool/ sea view which was kept very clean by the maids throughout our stay. The room was a good size but the bathroom could have been larger, not the end of the world! The reception staff went above and beyond and were so very helpful. The location is excellent, some reviewers have complained about this and how expensive it was to get to the town, a bus ride is only 10 minutes and costs €1.10 each way, we got the bus there and got a cab back so it wasnt so bad. Also if it were in the town it would be noisy and the truth is, it's so peacefull and quiet with just bird song and wind in the trees, bliss! Breakfast was good with a variety of choices, it was always hot and there was plenty. The pool area was great and you didn't need to reserve a lounger as there were ample. Dinner by the pool is a must! All in all a lovely holiday, great hotel & amazing staff!

Spent a week here in the beginning of July after a weeks cruise, with the hubby ..it was our anniversary and we found fruit and wine complimentary in our room when first got there ,with a lovely letter. the staff are very friendly and professional. the hotel is smallish but big enough and is very clean ,modern and the rooms well furnished with wi-fi,tvs,fridges,kettles free safes.. the pool area is lovely, plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas with a little bit of background music which is loud enough to just hear but not too loud to annoy,,,very relaxing!! ,and with a small bar area ,,where the cocktails are brilliantly made i must add ,,no sugary syrups ,,,worked my way through the cocktail list !!. We were only bed and breakfast but ate dinner here twice and lunch a few times ,,all the meals were delicious. The hotel was about 30 mins stroll to Corfu Town ,,there are bus stops very close to the hotel to take you to the town or even other resorts ,,we mainly used the taxi which was about 8-10 euros depending on where you want to be dropped off.The hotel also has a gym beneath which my hubby used a few times ,hes quite fussy but reckoned it was well equipped and maintained..there's also shower rooms down there too for you to use on your last day if you have a late pick up and want to spend your last day round the pool. Before we went on holiday we noticed reviews from guests which said that locals used the pool and were noisy ,.we did notice that some people used the pool and sunbeds but they weren't noisy or intrusive, and most of the time there are enough beds around the pool for everyone ,.and i presume some were members of the gym,If more beds were needed then the bar staff just put more out that were stored elsewhere . Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay..and would definitely recommend staying here if you want a chilled, relaxed holiday with excellent service from staff .

Room Tip: front rooms overlook pool area and some with sea view
