“Lovely stay”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

This hotel lives up to the mainly excellent reviews. It is a smallish hotel - location is convenient just steps from Gilford Street leading down to the Town Hall Square and The Liston promenade. Only 10 - 15 mins by taxi from the airport. No need to walk far to find a wide choice of restaurants. The hotel building is impressive (Venetian, I think) with a lovely atmosphere - tastefully decorated common areas. Outside is a pleasant terrace area just off the bar. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are not cramped and have good storage, fridge and safe. Welcome bottles of water and wine in room. Shower room is a little small but ok. Loved the outside seating area for breakfast, which we found excellent, so can't understand the odd negative reviews of the breakfast. As well as the buffet (including a fresh orange juice machine where you 'squeeze your own') a very friendly lady is there to make you eggs any style. An improvement would be provision of tea/coffee making facilities in the room - though we have found this is generally not a feature of hotels in Spain, Italy or Greece. Also we had a room with a small balcony but there were no balcony chairs and the only chair in the room wasn't really suitable. Therefore we didn't really use the balcony which we had specially requested and paid extra for.

Room Tip: Our room with balcony overlooking the terrace area at the back was probably better than one at the f...

This was our 4th stay at the Bella Venezia. As soon as you walk through the door you are treated like extended family. There are some hotels where you know you will want to come back, this is one of them. On arrival we were seated in the comfy chairs in the lounge and offered complimentary drinks, our luggage was taken to our rooms while an efficient but relaxed check in occurred. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable and include slippers and dressing gowns, ours had a nice view over the garden and breakfast area. The bar in the lounge/reception area is a great place to have a casual drink before heading out to eat. Breakfast is a wonderful experience in the garden. A buffet of hot and cold delights including special Greek offerings and home made jams is set out in Gazebo. The location is excellent being in the "Old" town and a short walk from shops and restaurants. The staff are very friendly and professional and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. We live in Australia but will definitely be back again.

Located on the edge of the old town, you can get here by taxi, then you are straight into the pedestrian only area. Fully modernised classic villa, this is clean, very peaceful (double glazed) with unusually quiet air conditioning.
Stayed here twice for a night either side of a week in Paxos, the first time upgraded to a wonderful large suite, but the standard room also good. Reasonable big bed, though a little firm, even for me. Would prefer a proper shower rather than hose over the bath, but that is really getting picky. Small TV if you are boring enough to switch it on.
Excellent breakfast with cooked options as well as continental, and the best Ionian yogurt ever. This is served on spacious terrace behind the hotel. Delightful lady on the front desk, very helpful. Taxi from airport €12 if you don't get a transfer included.

This is a really nice hotel in the centre of Corfou. The location is perfect. The breakfast is a buffet full of really good things. The garden is really beautiful. Bedding confortable but bathroom small.
Thanks to the staff and Spiros. Everyone was very nice.

This hotel is located in the heart of the old town, yet located on a less busy street. It takes app. 10 minutes to get there from the airport by taxi. Hotel staff were simply great: Spiros made sure we were comfortable, Marilena gave great tips on beaches and Christos served us coffee and cake before we left at 4:30 am. Delicious breakfast is served in the garden, fresh towels for the beach are provided daily and a welcome drink is served as you check-in. Green Bus Stop is within 15 min. walking distance and from there you can get to any beach you like. Small bathroom and over friendly shower curtains are minor downsides. Do not hesitate to choose this hotel for your upcoming visit to Corfu.

Had 7 lovely nights at this hotel.
The hotel is ideally situated close to the town centre and was a calming oasis after long days sightseeing.
The rooms were a tad on the small size so are more suited to those who are looking for a 2/3 day stop. Having said that we just about managed and was impressed by the decor and cleanliness of the room. We had a garden view room (202) with a "walk on balcony" which was really too small for chairs. I'm led to believe the rooms on the road side can at time be noisy so I would always try and book the garden view rooms.
The public room is a small lounge with a bar which again was tastefully decorated in a classic old villa style and was perfectly adequate for chilling with a drink.
The breakfast was in my opinion excellent with a good choice of the usual continental fare plus a hot bar were a lady would cook eggs, bacon etc to you own personal taste.
The staff were outstanding and very friendly, always willing to help and make our stay trouble free. I like a hot tea in my room in the morning but there is no tea & coffee making facilities, but I e mailed them asking if there was any chance a kettle could be placed in the room and a brand new one was waiting for me on arrival.
The air con was as good as it gets, with an individual temperature control. The Air con was importantly silent which meant a good nights sleep in their comfy beds and crisp linen.
The hotel itself is situated in a rather drab road, so my tip for a pleasant walk to and from the hotel is to go straight across the road to a little park then turn immediately left onto Guilford St which is a lovely street with taverna's and old shops. This street can also give access to the promenade if you take one of the right turns down the small alley's.
All in all if I was going back to Corfu town this hotel would be the one I would choose. Small but perfectly formed!

Room Tip: Garden view rooms are the best.

Lovely hotel, very central, fantastic garden and very helpful staff. Highly recommended. We stayed in a stopover on the way to Lefkas, arrived late and were greeted by staff who looked after us very well, we had late drinks in the lovely terrace and fantastic breakfast under the vines in the morning.
