“Magical place ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014 via mobile

After wandering around the city my girlfriend and I set our sites on finding the old cemetery, it's a little tricky to find (behind the prison) but TOTALLY worth it, beautiful, tranquil and peaceful. Even saw a pair of tortoises in the grounds. The kind groundsman talked to us about the history of the cemetery, definitely worth a quite stroll around.

“Interesting place”

Lilies growing throughout cemetery. Watch out for tortoises. Graves going back to about 1815. George is a wonderful character who will tell you all about the Cemetery.

“hidden gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2014

the british cemetry is a hidden gem just outside corfu town centre . it is run by a very knowledgeable elderly man who is extremely helpful ( possibly the nicest man in the world ) . it is free but you can make a donation as you leave . there is hundreds of years of history here for you to explore so allow a couple of hours . it can get very hot in the grounds so take plenty of water .

“British social history in Corfu”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2013 via mobile

As you walk around the the peaceful gardens you will see a large number of military monuments ranging from the 1800's through to 1946 all of which have inscriptions with a story to tell. A great part of social history and demonstration of the islands colourful past.
