We arrived and the stunning silence, sweet air, immense views just took our breath away! We’ve already booked to go back in 2014 as this was simply the most wonderful and relaxed environment to enjoy a holiday, within such a close (25 minute car free) walking distance to the lovely village of Eymet. This gite is definitely on the right side of Eymet too, with more open views than any other gite we’ve stayed in, and they have a lovely sitting arbour perfectly positioned to enjoy the quiet evenings. We’ve never enjoyed so much time sitting, being still and just watching the wildlife, valley views, distant farmers working the fields and sunflowers.

We stayed in Les Tourtereaux and it had everything we needed and again had the wow factor, especially when you see the size of the master bedroom with a four-poster bed in it.
Even on raging hot days, the thick walls and tiled floors inside meant it kept lovely and cool so we had the best of sleeps too.
Brian gave us a useful local restaurant guide too and helped to arrange for Bergerac Wine Tours to take us on a vineyard tour right from the doorstep here, so we fully indulged on this holiday, but there is still much more for us to see next year when we return. Can’t wait and taking friends too so we’re booking their studio gite as well next time.

My wife,3 children and I have spent two weeks at Domaine de Juliette being hosted by Denise and Brian!
Excellent accommodation, excellent location, various options for the children to do (all teenagers) which of course is of every parents concern particularly in such a rural area!

Our accommodation ,Les Tourtereaux was clean, spacious and perfectly positioned for fantastic views with an added bonus of seclusion from the other two gites!

For those that want the best the Dordogne has to offer, whether its sunshine and relaxing around the pool, local restaurants, sightseeing, cheese and wine, cycling or stargazing into the heavens, Domaine de Juliette sets the tempo!!

This is our second stay and wont be our last, a fantastic holiday all round

Thanks Brian and Denise for the bubbly on arrival !!

Room Tip: Les Tourtereaux, good size, secluded with great views!

Having just spent a very relaxing week ( myself , husband and Ellie our springer spaniel) in Gite du Capulet we were very sorry to move North. Unfortunately the accommodation was fully booked( am not surprised) so we reluctantly moved on for our second week. The Domaine de Juliette was so inviting, plenty of walks with amazing wildlife - red squirrels, red deer and a red kite..... just to mention a few! Denise and Brian were so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed in the gite, which was well equipped, immaculately clean and spacious, with the biggest most comfortable bed ever! The pool area was so relaxing, great for a dip in the red hot sunshine or a more energetic swim ( left that to the husband). The other guests were great company but never intrusive and we enjoyed the garden area around the gite for a quiet snooze or a quiet read, which was just what we needed. The local area offered plenty of restaurants and bars which were just a short drive away and our hosts made sure we had plenty of information about everything going on in this amazing location. Can't wait to return!

I wrote a review about Domaine de Juliette following a stay there in July with my wife and daughter. I felt complelled to write because our experience did not match the glowing reports that I had read from others on here. Whilst the location was very nice there was a whole catalog of issues ranging from cleanliness to a blocked sink and beds not made on arrival etc which were disappointing. It was not a cheap week and was certainly a rustic experience, but not in a good way.
I did take my oiginal review down because on reading my review Brian was obviously concerned about the experience we had had, was very apologetic and was at pains to put things right for future guests. He has even been in contact to say exactly what he has done to try and ensure that our experience was the exception rather than the rule. So if I could give Brian an excellent rating for the way that he handled our feedback, I would.

We have agreed that exceptional circumstances resulting from having new/temporary staff in at the time caused this guest to have less than the perfect experience we aim and mostly achieve for our guests. Major repairs to a separate part of the property were being under taken at this time(resulting from cold damage in Feb), with a plumber/decorator on site all week, and we were disappointed the guests did not report any dis-satisfaction about anything during their stay. In particular the blocked sink could have been fixed instantly with our permanent plumber on site that week, and the confusion over bedding too could have been resolved if they had persisted with any mention of this confusion. We have aimed to remedy this and ensure no repeats by encouraging all guests at any time to contact and speak to us with any issues as we are more than happy and delight in trying to overcome and solve any guest issues during any part of their stay. Mostly, we as owners are on site and can be sure to be on hand and as other reviews demonstrate, we can assure guests of total satisfaction. Of course we prefer to have happy guests, and our efforts to achieve this partly being jepadised by a simple blocked sink for example are entirely regretable.
This guest has acknowledged that we have been pro-active in handling their concerns, acknowledging our mistake in choice of temporary manager for the week they stayed, and is pleased we have updated our Welcome Packs to more clearly encourage our guests to raise any concerns with us directly at the time rather than quietly tolerating anything less than perfection regarding their comfort/enjoyment of their holiday. We have also updated our own process for specifying with a booking which beds are required by guests to avoid the simple mistake of preparing 2 beds in one room as aposed to 1 bed in each of two rooms.
This is a 300 year old property, which needs constant maintenance, but year on year we additionally make improvements and enhancements to the service/facilities we provide, which we know for sure the 3 or 4 returning regulars we host each year have acknowledged and appreciate. To this end, we hope to encourage more returning guests and continue the success of the last 6 years gite holiday letting.

We (husband, dog and myself) are just back from 3 wonderful weeks in France. We spent one week in the Gite de Capulet and it was just perfect for us. Brian and Denise were not there but we really appreciated all of their hints re restaurants, the Chater winery, markets etc. They were extremely helpful. We had the whole property, garden and pool to ourselves which was wonderful. The patio area was well used - it is perfect at this time of the year as it has the morning sun, which was great at breakfast time, and then shade during the day, when it was quite hot. We were very lucky with the weather and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Would recommend this property as a place to stay (I can imagine it might feel a bit crowded with more than 2 adults in it though) as a base for exploring the beautiful Dordogne area.

Room Tip: We don't really know what the other places on the property are like.

we had a great 2 weeks here....comfortable and clean living quarters and excellant and very friendly hosts in Brian & Denise.A great location for the local area with many of the very beautiful Bastide Towns within an hour of the farmhouse.Much of our time was sat relaxing around the pool and soaking up the sunshine and then either eating out in the varied choice of local restaurants or self catering.Everything can be found within Eymet which has a very high British continguent. We have stayed at many similar types of property over the years and would rate this one very highly.

I just want to say we had a brilliant time back in March when we went for 10 days, we met Brian towards the end of our stay and i was so impressed by what him and denise have achieved over the time they have had the place.

The gittes were bright and airy, very clean well fitted with all our requirements for self catering, and we had a lovely relaxing time.

Will recommend to all my friends and have sent link to site to several!
