“...helicopter from Kigali-Nyungwe Forest Lodge”

...remarkable Rwanda! If you are time poor then Akagera Aviation's helicopters are the way to get around the land of a thousand hills. And into Nyungwe Forest Lodge - by air! Incredible experience. The Lodge is 5 star: the suites stylishly furnished and the beds ever so comfortable.

Room Tip: ...all rooms face on to the forest: they are all great!

I was there end of July with my family of 6 so we had a family suite and a regular room. Kids jaws dropped the moment they stepped in their rooms, this was an absolute 5 stars experience for them, they loved it! The welcome cocktail was delicious, the lounge cosy, the setting stunning and the food very nice too. The heated pool, a rarity in Rwanda, was most welcome after the long drive from Kigali, it is a bit small but as it was only us 6 swimming it was enjoyable

I stayed here with a friend for one night in August. The landscape is something you truly have to see (you can walk around or borrow a bike and head to the tea factory). The hills and mountains surrounding the lodge make for one of the most scenic sights i've seen. The lodge itself is stunning, rooms are spectacular and the restaurant is top notch. I have zero complaints about my stay here, i would 100% recommend it, although one night was not nearly enough time)

If you're coming from Kigali, you can drive or fly into the nearby airport with Rwandair. I would recommend doing one way of each. The drive is close to 5 hours, but an amazing trip and well worth the time. There are a few (not many) places you can stop in for food and drink (we stopped in Huye)

This hotel is located in the ideal location for chimpanzee tracking and hiking in Nyungwe Forest National Park. It is nestled into a working tea plantation with stunning views of the forest and a quiet, peaceful ambiance. The rooms are extremely luxurious, and the food was absolutely delicious. All of the staff were kind and attentive, and they offer (huge) packed breakfasts for chimpanzee trekking days. There's also a beautiful infinity pool and with a firepit nearby- perfect for relaxing after a long day hiking!

Unlike the insanely expensive lodges around Virunga NP, this is one great hotel that is still reasonably priced - even more so with a resident visa. The main lounge is fantastic for tea come rain, and the plunge pool a great place to cool down after a long hike in the forest. Some issues with having enough hot water in the room didn't really change the experience. Food was fantastic.

it's a five star hotel that serves 3$ beers! what else do you need?

This is a beautiful hotel nestled in a tea plantation boardering the forest. Each group of 4 bungalows are beautifully appointed with all the 5 star amenities you could ask for. Sitting on the balcony provides stunning views of wild life, especially birds. The main reception dining room is stunning with open fire and very helpful staff. We did two treks in search of Chimps and spent time with the tea pickers. Its the best place to stay in this area.

Amazing location just at the boarder of the rain forest. Really a 5-star experience, including all the amenities that you would like. Apart from doing the chimpanzees and colobus monkey trekking, visit the local tee factory. If you do the canopy walk, bring the bikes so you can ride back down to the lodge.
