This is the touristic centre point of the delightful town of Cangas de Onis, the ancient capital of Asturias, where according to legend the Moors were prevented form taking over the whole of Spain 1300 years ago. Although it is preserved as a romanic style bridge it has undergone modifications in almost every century since its construction, and you can see the different pieces of stonework the comprise the whole. A detailed explanation is provided on a plaque. A must-visit in Cangas de Onis.

If you want to photograph, try to get up early or it will be very difficult to avoid the huge number of people that visit the bridge every day. Worth a visit.

Wow, you can walk across it! How exiting ;-) Take a phote on it or next to it. What can I say. Oh that´s right the El Campanu restaurant is next to it. So enjoy a good meal while appreciating the old bridge.

The Roman Bridge is definitely worth seeing if you're in or near Cangas de Onís. The scenery is so beautiful. It looks as if it's taken out of a fairy tale. If you are there in summer it's nice to go down to the banks of the river below the bridge, walk around and take some pictures.

We stopped overnight at this charming little town, and the roman bridge is one of the main sites. It's very photogenic, with pedestrian access only along a little cobbled road running parallel to the new road, so most people take a picture with their loved ones on top, with mountains in background.

No charge to access, and many of the souvenirs from the town have a picture of the bridge.

You'll pay a higher price in the coffee shops with a view of the bridge.
